Decided to try he Arkaba Hotel bistro twice during my stay in Adelaide. I'm glad I did. Whilst this is a huge complex that has the bistro, pokies, sports bar and accomodation, it is a family friendly place that is well patronised. When I was there on a Friday and Sunday night, the dining room was bustling, with diners having a meal before theatre/comedy shows and birthday celebrations, in addition to the usual casual dining. On Friday night, I tried the sourdough garlic bread with cheese, which had some nice density to it, grilled to perfection with stretchy cheese. Then I had the beef schnitzel with mushroom sauce. The schnitzel was crunchy and I really liked the mushroom sauce - lots of mushrooms in a possible cream of mushroom soup base. Lots of crispy chips were on the plate too. When I went back on the Sunday, I had the Yoder smoked scotch fillet, once again with mushroom sauce. I didn't need the sauce, as the steak had a lovely Smokey flavour that stood on its own. I ordered mine medium, and it was cooked perfectly. The Caesar salad was fresh and tasty, and the dressing was not too heavy. The chips were crispy once again, but the only downside were the two onion rings, which could have done with a bit longer in the fryer. Meals are ordered and paid for at the register, with drinks purchased separately at the bar. Multiple televisions screens showing sport and select commercial stations are also present in the bistro. All in all, next time I visit Adelaide, I will be heading back to Arkaba Hotel for a meal.

I communicated with the hotel, they said I stayed a week they only change the bed sheets once, I stayed for two days this time, they did not help you clean the bed, relatively, other hotels, do not change the bed sheets also help clean the bed, the worst is Not cleaning up the garbage and adding coffee and milky, came to stay yesterday for work, also hope to come back in the evening can rest, drink a cup of coffee, they should improve, otherwise I will not introduce friends.

My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary this year by visiting Adelaide. Stamford Plaza was our main base as we travelled throughout the region experiencing all of the arts, culture, history, Architecture, food and wine of the region. Our stay at Stamford Plaza was pleasant and clean with all the amenities needed in a central location. To raise the bar though it was the service we received at Stamford Plaza from Jacqui aka Jax that made it extra special. From her warm welcome, recommended attractions and hot spots to the extra special touches including bottle of wine to help us celebrate. Our memories of our stay in Adelaide were greatly enhanced due to Jax and the Stamford Hotel. Thank you!

My parents and I booked for lunch. Two of us had the lamb shoulder and the other had Mulloway. 10/10 for all mains and empty plates sent back to the kitchen. Desserts were ordered - two of us had the expression parfait - a delicious combo of treacle tart and coffee parfait with delicious inclusions such as crisp honeycomb. The third member of the party fancied the ice cream and strawberry sauce enjoyed by the youngster on the neighboring table and the kitchen were happy to oblige. Service friendly and efficient, and the bar person made and excellent gin and tonic to highlight a SA Gin for this Victorian. All in all the best hotel meal I have had in Adelaide for many years and I will come back on other trips.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to be close to the city and without too much noise. The queen room I had was fabulous! The shower and bathroom products were particularly divine. The breakfast facilities are wonderful too!! I would stay here again 🤩

Lovely hotel. Great location near river and festival precinct. Club lounge provided great breakfast options and evening canapes and drink selection were very generous ( enough to replace dinner on at least one occasion).

The property is conveniently located on the North Terrace among the campus of University of South Australia. Hotel parking was limited but it was not a problem of us as we were mostly out early in the morning for sightseeing and only back after dinner. Hence we parked our car along Liverpool St which offered free overnight parking. The Oval, Railway Station and Rundle Mall are all a few minutes walk away. We were given a corner room on the 2nd floor which was HUGE. The room was slightly dated but it was clean and functional.

Facilities: Not bad, average
Hygiene: Not bad

Outstanding
GGuest UserThe room is very comfortable and beautifully finished. The blinds automatically open and the tv turns on when you first step into the room which is pretty cool. The bed was very comfy and the rain head shower was also wonderful. Service was excellent! We enjoyed a small upgrade and a complimentary bottle of bubbles with a hand written note as it was our anniversary - a lovely touch. Floor to ceiling windows throughout the hotel make for a good view no matter where you are. The view of the oval from the bar/restaurant is quite nice while we enjoyed a drink or 2. We'll be back!
非非凡程真Very close to Chinatown, there is a small swimming pool, convenient for children, the room is relatively large, the hotel is quite convenient. The bed is 1.8 meters and the family is not crowded.
GGuest UserThe Grand is without a doubt all about the location! Given it’s ocean front position it should offer an absolute premium experience but instead falls a little short as it continues to date without much sign of refurbishment. The rooms are basic, the carpets old, the furnishings aging and everything just feels in need of some love. Bathrooms still have showers over the bath with shower curtains and the air con in the room wasn’t very effective (too hot despite being on the coolest setting). There was also a wedding being hosted during my 1 night stay and despite my room being on the 5th floor (ballroom is on level 1), I could hear the band/music until the end of the reception at 11:30pm. On the positive (besides premium location), the staff at reception / concierge were excellent. They greeted with absolute care on arrival and happiness during check out, despite being early in the morning. It felt like they enjoyed what they did and that’s so good to see in customer facing roles. Worth considering this hotel for a stay, just as long as you’re happy with basic ammenities in a great location.
FForam PandiaThe room and staff were great. However, there were sounds coming from the ceiling fan in the bathroom, sounds which very much seemed like there were rats up there.
GGuest UserI have stayed at this hotel a number of times and have thoroughly enjoyed all my previous stays but on my most recent stay I found that standards had severely declined in multiple respects. Upon arrival there were no staff at the driveway to assist to unload the luggage as there are usually. Upon entering the hotel lobby, I found all reception desks unattended. After waiting a few minutes, a staff eventually arrived. As an Accor platinum member, I have always been upgraded to a suite at this hotel on all my previous stays. I asked about the availability of a suite upgrade for this stay but was informed by the staff that there were none available. I accepted that because I understand that upgrades are subject to availability. However, when I checked the availability of suites for my stay dates immediately after check-in, I found that there were multiple suites available. So the staff had lied to me. I discussed the matter with Heath Varcoe, the Guest Experience Manager. Heath said that upgrades for Accor platinum members were only to the next room category and also dependent on factors other than availability, without elaborating on what those other factors were. I feel that as an Accor platinum member who has stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions, the hotel should do their best to offer a suite upgrade if possible, as they have on all my previous stays. I asked Heath if I could get the contact details of a staff in the reservations team so I could check with them when planning future stays regarding the likelihood of a suite upgrade being available. Heath said he would check and get back to me before I checked out, but I have never heard from him, despite asking the staff on check out to follow up with Heath. It has now been a few months. I was assigned to a small room which had an awkward ‘open plan’ design with a bathtub placed awkwardly in the middle of the room. The sliding door to the bathroom was difficult to open and close and did not actually afford much privacy as you could still hear everything going on in the bathroom when it was closed. Also, it seems the hotel has replaced the Dyson hairdryers with el-cheapo brand ones which look like they are from a $2 store. They do not fit with the image of Sofitel as a luxury hotel. There was also no portable speaker in the room as there usually is. At the breakfast buffet at Garçon Bleu I found that there were no chicken sausages as there had been on all my previous stays, only pork ones. Because I do not eat pork, I raised this with the staff and was informed that they had run out but they would have them the next day. But the next day when I went back there were still no chicken sausages. So I decided to visit Club Millesime for breakfast instead, and strangely found that they did actually have chicken sausages there. But they were not the full-size ones that were available previously, rather, they were small, cocktail-size ones. I hope they bring the full-size ones back, because
GGuest Userthis building was in a good position in the city, just opposite convention centre. Good service & very comfortable bed, but lounges & bathroom were old & in need of a makeover. basic toiletries were supplied & clean towels daily even though I left them hanging to reuse. the suite had 2 small double bedrooms, with 1 bedroom totally internal with no windows. It would be quite crowded if 4 adults were there.
GGuest UserPerfect location for our drive Perth to Melbourne, easy access from and to the highway. Spacious, clean room with table, couch, TV, aircon and very comfortable bed. Ensuite a little outdated but the room had been freshened up. We had trouble connecting to the wifi. The restaurant was closed on our visit but we ordered room service and enjoyed our meal. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Be aware that while there is a 'late check-in' window, a sign on the door said that reception hours had changed to 8am - 8pm (when we booked the site said it was open all night... it might be wise to check ahead if you're likely to be later) Good, clean accommodation. We had a good stay.
GGuest UserStayed one night when husband and I had a day surgery procedure. Chose it as it was the closest accommodation to the Day Hospital. Checked in after ops a bit early and they were able to have room cleaned ready for us. Room very small, Queen bed took up most of it. Ensuite ok except toilet dripped all night. Bed good and clean. Hot water took ages to heat up. Also not sure what was refurbished? Went downstairs to Bistro for dinner. Hubbys meal good, mine average. Got a small discount for staying on meal and accommodation. Bit loud with traffic, but it is on a busy road (and we are from country). Would prefer a bigger room with a bit of a view in future.
GGuest UserThe shower had mould all on the bottom of the floor there was mould in and around the fridge and the seal of the fridge! As you walked into the room straight away could tell the floor wasn’t all that clean and the walls were extremely dirty also had ants and smelt as if the room had not been opened up and/or aired out
GGuest UserMy family & I had brunch at the Esplanade Hotel, Brighton SA this morning. Because we were a large group of 6 adults & 5 children, I made a booking online during the week, any easy process. Our table was ready when we arrived. Our order was taken promptly. The food & drinks were came quickly considering the number of people that were there. All our meals were great. The service from all staff fantastic. They were friendly & helpful. We are happy to recommend the Espie Hotel.
