Very warm reception, French countryside feeling, the room is large, but the overall style is old, as a short rest for one night during the trip is good.

Beautiful and very quiet location approximately one and a half kilometers from the center. Anyone who aspires to a modern luxury hotel is not in the right place here, but we prefer the authenticity and charm of the castle dating from 1830, family and a pleasant host Cedric who speaks 4 languages, Dutch, English, German and of course French. In my opinion, a very good price/quality ratio, especially since breakfast is included and offered free of charge by the operator. Breakfast is basic but tasty and more than sufficient in my opinion. For those who want a super extensive breakfast for an additional 15 - 20 euros per person??? We only stayed 1 night - very good bed - we will definitely come back here to find the source of the Leie by bike. Cedric thank you for your hospitality.

We stayed overnight on our way back from the South of France. It is a beautiful place in a tiny village. Our room was lovely with a huge comfy bed and a large modern bathroom. The shower was great with plenty of hot water. We couldn’t check in until 4pm and the door is locked at 11pm but this wasn’t a problem for us. It was quiet and peaceful and exactly what we needed after a long drive. We ate dinner and breakfast and both were delicious. The hosts are really welcoming and made us feel at home. We would definitely stay here again.

The new owners, since June 23, run a very pleasant B&B with optional home cooked evening meals which were regional and tasty (good as local restaurants not open). Very quiet and comfortable accommodation and convenient for channel crossing.

Rooms were clean and the house has beautiful ornate rooms. Beds were comfortable. Overall though, this was overpriced as many elements felt like money saving opportunities for the owners. Tea and coffee in the rooms were very basic, bread and pastries at breakfast tasted cheap (possibly from a supermarket rather than a proper bakery) and the limited buffet selection was what you would expect from a much cheaper hotel.

This was the most inconvenient and inappropriately advertised stay I have ever encountered. We booked on ******* and specifically looked for regulations as we are familiar with French properties having special or unusual restrictions than USA. I combed through this adverstiment with a fine tooth comb and found nothing other than check in stops at 11p. We arrive and during check in we were notified that doors lock at 11p as well we will have no access to our room daily from 11a-4p. This, we were told, was due to local regulations. Again, nothing of this was mentioned on *******. We arrived late so we checked in and stayed the night. We booked this stay for 2 adults and 1 infant. When on vacation or traveling, our hotel is supposed to be our place of rest however here you are denied access to the room you pay almost $200/night to. This is ridiculously unreasonable, especially for us with an infant that has daily naps. We addressed this with the property owners and after some discussion we told them we are leaving and we would like a refund for the nights we did not stay. We booked a total of 8, we slept 2 and they only refunded us 5. There was also no heat. They had space heaters in each room. The toilet didn’t flush properly and the shower made a screeching noise when in use. I respect this is an old property, but this was us accommodating them and not vice versa. The handing of finances is beyond nickel and diming. Clearly they don’t understand the business of hospitality.

Chateau de Moulin le Comte is a lovely 19th century manor house hotel. It is full of character and our bedroom was massive with lovely traditional furnishings but with a great modern bathroom, again ,massive. It is located in a peaceful part of France that people usually drive past either to or from the ports. It is very well placed for those ports, however,we would happily stay in this peaceful picturesque part of France for longer and definitely stay at this hotel. The owners are friendly, attentive and efficient. We had dinner the hotel, set menu which was lovely and incredibly good value.
