I have stayed in several star-rated hotels across the country, yet never come across a hotel that needs a lawsuit to be shut down immediately, so that further customers are not duped. Its not just that service standards are shocking, it's that the management knows it and doesn't give a damn about it. Where do I start? The booking experience. I booked this hotel through Agoda. Since both my wife and I are smokers, we always select "smoking hotels" in the initial filters. This one showed up. We booked the hotel, then in special requests selected a smoking room, just to be doubly sure. No one told us anything. When we arrived, and asked housekeeping for an ashtray, we were told that the entire hotel is no-smoking. I called the manager and asked him why they've put misleading information on Agoda. He simply said he'll get it removed. For now I had no choice. Upon entering the room the central AC was not working. When I complained, 2 people came into a room where guests were sitting unpacked, got a ladder and tools and got to work. The first night we came back at 9.20, and asked the front office (since housekeeping phone was going unanswered) to give us 2 glasses for water. The wait went on till eternity, when I was calling front office and they just said "yeah glasses are coming" and HUNG UP the phone. Twice! 65 minutes later one guy arrived with one glass. I had to plead to him to get another glass, which he thankfully did. The second morning, breakfast spread was marginal, food tasted pretty bad, and there were 3 people doing a miserable job of managing a banquet full of guests. Having our expectations toned down, we didn't say much and felt thankful for the food on our plate. Breakfast done, we left for the day, submitted the key to the front desk with a request to clean the room. When we came back in the evening, the room was still not cleaned. Calls to housekeeping went unanswered. Front office said "sir actually we have a lot of wedding guests in the hotel and we don't clean rooms in their absence". I said "But I'm not a wedding guest, I'm a normal guest who specifically asked to clean my room in my absence!". Called the hotel manager again, he came up with some obtuse reply like "Oh don't worry, they'll clean your room after they're done with room X". Finally housekeeping staff came and made a miserable job of cleaning the room with us present inside. I have attached a pic of a wet mopped floor and stains on the bedsheets. I could go on, but suffice to say this hotel is simply not worth it. It's a bunch of cheats masquerading as hotel staff, and your customer expectation isn't worth a damn here
