Hotels Near KNSM Island in Amsterdam

This is the first time in my life that I have given a one-star negative review after staying in hundreds of hotels. 1. No one will check you in 2. The only way to contact them is to call them via the Netherlands +31 international number 3. No way to make international calls? Congratulations, ** 4. I desperately searched for various methods on the Internet (the temperature was 9 degrees and it was raining), and finally found out on Airbnb that they have a ”Contact Host” function to find someone. 5. The other party told me, ”If you want to check in, you have to come to our address below to get the key.” Hello! ! ! ! ? ? ? Why didn't you mention this in the move-in notice? ? Even Trip.com did not inform us at all! 6. When I arrived at the address (the location of another of their hotels), the teller was pushed out by the supervisor to block the gunfire. He kept telling me that it was not their problem, but that trip.com did not inform me of the contact address when delivering the package (laughing, everyone The hotel information and contact information on the reservation website are all filled in and uploaded by the hotel. Do you think I am being deceived?) 7🤬What makes me angry the most is that I asked my supervisor to speak out, but all his supervisors avoided him, saying that it was inconvenient now and he had to bear the responsibility himself. When I checked out the next day, I asked to call the supervisor again. The teller gave me the same answer, saying, ”I can't contact anyone at all.” The chain group YAY has six or seven hotels open. This is how they deal with it, avoidance, shirk, and no compensation. There is no customer service, no email, no online assistant, nothing. Do you dare to stay in this kind of hotel? ? ?

Perfect for sleeping and storing the luggage, which is exactly what we needed! Nice and helpful staff. The atmosphere was cozy and the place felt clean. Slight downside is how warm the room got in the night. We also got the absolutely smallest room which was fine with us but beware it’s cramped. But I’m definitely staying here next time I’m in Amsterdam.

The hotel is amazing. The interieur design is very creative and inspiring. The breakfast and food is very good. Also the staff is nice and helpful. Unfortunately I can't rate the hotel more than average as my first night out of two in this hotel was rather horrible due to the room climate. The room was very cold and it was not possible to raise temperature as the air conditioning was limited. Besides the AC was extremely loud so that it was not possible at all for me to sleep the first night. I tried to turn it off, but it was not possible in my room although you can even switch the light on and off with some digital panel which is very modern. For me room climate (right temperature for a guest) is very important. I was freezing and could not change it by myself. Besides I really dislike noise and this AC was very very loud. As I was not the only one of my colleagues disliking the AC we at some point found out that we can tell the reception to switch off the AC in our rooms specifically which we then did all. The second night was a better experience then, but for this price I would have expected a better solution / AC by the hotel.

I chose this hôtel as I was travelling from the UK to see Dépêche Mode at the Ziggo Dome. And stayed two nights. Jaz in the City is just steps away from the Ziggo entrance so you can’t get any closer! It’s also great as a base for Amsterdam sightseeing. From the airport there’s a direct train (hotel is a 10-15 min walk from Bijlmer ArenA station). You can also hop on the metro here for a 20 min ride to Centraal. As Amsterdams public transport is so good (compared to Bristol in the UK where I live) you can confidently rely on it to get you wherever you need to be efficiently! Staff at the hotel are super friendly and helpful. From front desk, bar, restaurant and housekeeping. Everyone (thankfully) spoke English which is ideal for me as I can just about say hello and thank you in Dutch! Special shout out to Mr Omelette Maker at breakfast. The perfect start to a day of sightseeing!! I’m sure they’re are cheaper options but I’m of an age where I understand that you get what you pay for. This hotel in my opinion is great. It looks good, is super clean and well maintained and importantly ＜feels＞ good.

Our bed were changed from King size to 2 single beds. The single beds is terrible, but bed frame like not fit, when u make a body turn, the bed will move also. And my partner feel the bed is not clean enough. The room is big but feel very empty. TV is not working the first few days, after we make ask then they change new remote, then everything is fine. Love the body shampoo smell. Location is close to Sloterdik station. very convenient to take train,tram,bus,metro. It is not as busy as Centraal, but not many options of food surrounding. Spar is the convenient shop we must pass by everynight we come back to hotel. U can get food and drinks there. We get salad & fruits before heading to hotel everynight.

Stayed here one night on IHG rewards points as a platinum member. Reception staff were super friendly, efficient and professional. The room was excellent on the 12th floor with great corner window views. Breakfast also good. I’d say this was one of the best express stays I’ve had. Sometimes this brand can be fairly low on the quality scale but this location is fantastic. Also, the let me store my bike in the luggage room of the holiday inn below.

Really nice hotel. Staff were super friendly and very helpful. The room was nice and clean and perfect for myself as a solo traveller. There is always someone at the reception so you can always receive help. Personally didn’t have the hotel breakfast, but heard from others staying at the hotel that it was really good. The only downside is the train station is like a 35-40minute walk, although it’s a long walk it’s very scenic and enjoyable but doing that kind of walk daily and sometimes twice a day was abit much and including walking back from the train station to the hotel. Trains run regularly to centraal so once you get to the station it’s not hard to get to Amsterdam centraal. You can also rent bikes, use busses and taxis also. Nonetheless impressed with this hotel and my stay here.

The hotel was fine but for early flights leaving from the airport, the breakfast isn’t available until 7am. I made the error of booking the room along with breakfast for two which we couldn’t use. The staff presented us a breakfast box with mostly bread and water and only a serving for one instead of two. I asked the staff if the breakfast could be returned and deducted from the payment but they would not comply. The usual buffet breakfast might have been nice and worth the money but the “breakfast box” for 20euros was not.

It's a hotel, like a small resort. It's nice to get a car and drive around. The hotel has a special ventilation unit l on the window so as kind of thoughtful. the breakfast is okay.

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Haarlem, a good 35-minute walk to the central square. There is very little around it in terms of shops or cafes or restaurants. So calling it ”Haarlem City” is a bit of a stretch! It is a 12-minute walk (through a nice residential area) to Bloemendaal train station, which makes it quite easy to get to Amsterdam. Haarlem's main train station is about a 25-minute walk from the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and good size. But (and this is a big but!) the hotel was built right next to a big sports centre and if your room faces north it will block your window as it is literally in front of it. This is a really poor design choice, it makes affected rooms feel claustrophobic. This is something the hotel should make clear at the time of booking. Parking in front of the hotel costs 7.5 Euros per night. Given its non-central location, you would expect parking to be free. So mixed feelings overall. Nice and spacious rooms, but the issues I mentioned above detract from the overall experience and value for money.
