Sensational, a truely romantic place...a seventh wonder of the world...Spiritual healing. A place to recharge the batteries. A home away from home. A beautiful place to unwind and relax. Amazing staff, tasty mouthwatering food. Love ❤️

We stayed in late Oct 2024 with our two children overnight/for dinner for our milestone wedding anniversary. Despite the beautiful setting, immaculate room and polite and pleasant staff - our room 206 was not that relaxing. From when we checked in (at the 4 pm check-in time) and chilling in our room - it was like being in our utility room with the noise behind the back wall. When we returned from dinner - the heavier noise was gone but we continued to hear noises during the night and a lot of rattling in the wall. I would not stay in that room 206 again unfortunately if we were to stay again overnight and if I am honest took the gloss off our otherwise pleasant stay. The rooms are expensive :( Also worth noting, there are no facilities for children and limited activities to do directly from the hotel. All walks are a 10 minute drive away. The infinity pool, hot tubs are pleasant and enjoyable but all need to be booked in advance for adults only and cost 25 euros each for 30 mins. They book out and may not get if you are not organised in time which happened to us.

We decided to use our Blue Book Vouchers to pay towards a 2 night B&B and 1 dinner package in November as high season is very expensive here. On arrival we were greeted by staff and offered a free glass of Prosecco while we waited for our room. Every staff member we encountered over the two days was proactive in greeting us and offering help. We were upgraded to a lovely, spacious suite with private balcony and a fantastic view on to the lake. The bed was a super-king and very comfortable with quality linen. The food was good but not anything special. We didn't use the spa or hot tubs but they seemed popular. Overall I would commend the staff highly for service and friendliness and the views from the bar, restaurant and bedrooms are tranquil and beautiful. (Tip - we noticed the price of our package decreased as I checked it over a few days)

We stayed here for a one night getaway. There’s a sense of calm when you walk into the hotel and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The food was delicious. On the down side you cannot access any pool facilities without paying extra. For the price we paid for a midweek stay I would have expected at least this. There’s a lovely view but it lacks walk accessible from the hotel. Overall we had a nice night but there are no facilities accessible without an extra price.

Excellent experience -from a welcome prosecco on arrival, personally seen to our room by our receptionist, given a superb room with a stunning view. A meal to remember in the luxury restaurant where our anniversary was marked by the venue with balloons and a personal message on our table. Our guests at the table were local and they always celebrate family occasions at the Wineport Lodge. I can see why, when you have quality food and service the price you pay should reflect it. Special mention to a knowledgeable sommelier who chose a perfect accompanying wine for our meal. Ps The breakfast was superb too.

14 family members celebrated our sister's 70 birthday at the Wineport Lodge, Glasson. What a wonderful experience, from booking lunch to our departure, the staff were incredible helpful, courteous and pleasant, food was excellent, and everybody went above the call of duty to make it a day to remember, great value for money also. Will definitely return.

We stayed 3 nights in a lake view room at the Wineport Lodge, and it was amazing. We have stayed in many places all over the world and this place is well worth a visit when in Athlone. The room was modern and very spacious, with stunning views over the lake. We used the spa facilities, and they were also exceptional. Our favorite was the infinity pool. It was a private session, so relaxing, and the scenery was stunning. We also had a try of the hot tubs, which were also very enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious with a really big choice. We also had Sunday lunch in the bar area, again the food was very good, the atmosphere was great and lovely views of the lake. Wineport is very close to Glasson Village, which is well worth a visit to the local pub Grogans and a wonderful art gallery next door. I am a regular visitor to Athlone and can not wait to return.

Nice location nice hotel but way too pricey! Our room was lovely with a nice view, comfortable enough bed could be better, shower wasn’t great, cramped, we ate in the bar first night, basic enough menu, food was good, but nothing fancy! Drink’s overpriced, we had breakfast to the room two mornings, only benefit of that was there was no tray charge! Full Irish wasn’t great, sausages horrible and rashers not really cooked to liking, however second day had the pancakes and they were lovely, third morning ate in restaurant and it was ok, my husband got eggs Benedict, I could have served better at home, we ate two nights in the Michelin star restaurant, got steak both nights, first nite was really nice even thought the sides served were basic and sparse, second night in restaurant was ok, hubby got the royal treatment for birthday ,balloons at table and a candle at end of meal with a mini dessert, my steak was unfortunately under cooked however they did correct it and didn’t charge for it, we used the spa also, my husband had booked a massage facial for me, had I know the cost of it I would have declined, €150 euro for mini mini facial and mini mini back massage, and of course my skin was dehydrated so was advised to purchase a special cream €55 for this, as he had booked the treatment for me I asked could my husband come down and use the infinity pool with me after treatment, that was an extra €25 and on the spa brochure it stated glass of bubbles with infinity pool experience but we didn’t get! Outdoor hot tub was nice but again €25 euro each, but we did get a glass of bubbles with that! And the lady was very nice she gave us blankets afterwards so we could sit by the lovely outdoor fire and enjoy our drinks, last thing I’d like to mention was check in, we arrived around 430 as check in was from 4pm but experience was very rushed in detailed information pushed down the coriander with glass of bubbles and luggage taking from us, seemed strange!! Also was noted there was no information really in room, about room service, or any services and also which we found annoying was everything was but on the room and there was no way of accessing the balance or any alternative way of paying before check out.
