Location was good Service was good Room was good Toilet wasn't good because it was old and not clean enough. And the shower wasn't good because the water pressure wasnt strong enough. But it was nice to use washers.

The room was a nice size. The room had poor installation with little to no sound proofing. Due to this, it was extremely loud. Like being at street level. It was very difficult to sleep and I would definitely not stay again. There was also vomit in the elevator that took a while to be cleaned.

Location is fantastic but even on the 12th floor the street noise from bars and restaurants is extreme. Asked to move to a quieter room and reception came to my room and actually pretended they couldn’t hear it. After reading many reviews complaining about the same issue I’ve seen management say again and again it’s due to the downtown location and nothing they can do - double glazing exists!! Icing on the cake is the extremely loud high pitched noise the plumbing makes which again they say is “out of their control” this was intermittent and went on all night. I checked out after one sleepless night on what should have been a seven night stay

We had a series of unfortunate events during our two night stay. On the first night the lift stopped working for hours, luckily we were able to carry our baby and pram up to our floor. Things happen so although annoying it wasn’t an issue. The last evening, the neighbours next to us were yelling about how they had just beaten someone up downstairs, swearing, throwing/kicking things around their room. People coming and going slamming the door highly intoxicated and aggressive. We looked through the information sheet, emails, website - no number to call after hours. We nearly called the police it was getting so bad. I sent an air bnb message to the host who responded after over an hour saying they would phone the neighbours. The noise and yelling continued till 3am. No update from the host as to what was happening or to check the floor we were on. Check out we were told that we should have “just pressed number 0 on the telephone in our room”. This information was not told to us until check out. The place itself is loud with club noise, and very tired. Everything needs a good refresh and updating. House keeping staff were lovely. We were barely given an apology as we left, the whole incident was just swept under the rug. Some acknowledgement would have been appreciated. Really disappointed with how this was handled.

Quest on Queen was strategically located and we didn't have much of an issue with the noise as highlighed by some. Maybe reading the reviews prepared us for that. The location, the size of the room and the provisions in the room more than made up for the noise, which wasn't that bad anyway. Special call out to the bed and the pillows which were excellent and facilitated good sleep. The balcony was decently sized and we could sit outside with our coffee and not get in each others way.

Stayed here for a conference. Location is good as it is at the bottom of Queen Street, so is reasonably handy to waterfront restaurants. Check-in was easy enough and the space, while quite small and utilitarian, was fine for my needs. However, I had two major issues with this accommodation: Firstly, the room was (several stories) above Fort Street and there is a pub and a KFC almost directly below. The noise from late night revellers at and outside these establishments made for a bad sleep both nights I was there. The second issue is that, within a hour or so of departing (and well before anyone else would have checked in), I realised I'd left my casual jacket in the room so I called the Quest and asked them to grab it for me and I would come back and collect it. They soon called back and advised me there was no jacket to be found. I found this surprising as I clearly recalled having hung it on a dining chair in the room that morning, I'd just forgotten to grab it on the way out. I called again a few days later to check whether it had turned up, but it still apparently hadn't been found. I found their response on this extremely disappointing from a customer service perspective. I most certainly won't be returning and don't recommend this place.

Spent Christmas 2022 in Auckland and it was nothing to shout or sing about, a rather quiet and underwhelming affair. And honestly, the city stank when we reached it by coach from Rotorua and that was past 8pm. 😅 But the room at Quest on Queen was a dream. Loved the large space, beds, sofa, kitchenette, clothes washer and dryer, and dish cleaner. But the fave was the balcony with a decent view. Spent many moments in the morning just reading and sipping hot tea and taking in the weather. It’s centrally located in Auckland CBD so it’s a cinch to get around for loads of shopping and sightseeing: Auckland Art Gallery, Bar Albert, Albert Park, Smith and Caughey, The Original Tony’s, Countdown, New World. Front desk service was good and prompt with my door keyhole issue. TV programme channels limited but not a biggie. We liked the secure auto lock access door.

This is a well located hotel right in the heart of Auckland. Clean, reasonably-sized rooms complete with a kitchenette, washer and dryer and a balcony with a nice view. The bathroom was a little tired and dated but the shower was powerful with a plentiful supply of toiletries. Beds were reasonably comfortable too. A special mention for Bree in reception who went above and beyond in arranging restaurants and taxis for us.

Would not recommend. The noise level is awful, I wish I had read the reviews before my company made the booking. I can see that the owner Kamal Seth has acknowledged to many reviews on this topic saying "it is out of their control" this is simply untrue, you can install better windows rather than single glazed they have - especially when your hotel is located above a nightclub (it's every night not just weekends or events). They also only have ONE gym pass for the entire building, so it's basically impossible to use the gym based on their "first come first served" policy (another example of saving cost). But the worst issue I had, was when I returned to my room after work to find the door was unlocked, as well as the balcony by the housekeeping, given the level of crime in Auckland, this is completely unacceptable (and that the balcony had also been left opened, which can be accessed by the adjacent roof - made me feel at best uncomfortable, at worst that this was deliberate). Overall the rooms are tired, shower head not working etc. and no where near a "four star" location, they need to invest on basics, but doubt they ever will - this is why I (nor anyone I recommend) will ever stay here again.
