Where to start.... I had first reserved two rooms for 6/22, but the Wyndham Rewards website reverted back to the current date (6/18) for the reservation. I was able to cancel ONE room online and reserve that room for 6/22, but there was a message that said I had to call the hotel directly to cancel the 2nd room. I called and explained what had happened and that I needed to cancel the 2nd room and reserve it for 6/22 instead of 6/18. She said that wasn't necessary and that she would change the reservation to the 22nd of June. When we arrived at the hotel, there was only one room reserved. When I explained that the lady I talked to on the phone said she would move the reservation, she replied that they don't do that. When I told her that they did this time, she argued that they NEVER do that. We also asked for non-smoking rooms, but the rooms stunk of smoke, since it is a smoking hotel. There were cigarette burns in the sheets and on a blanket. Also, the lock on one of the rooms was broken. I asked about the morning breakfast and was told that they have "coffee and a muffin". That was all. Not a big deal until the next morning when we went to the lobby for the coffee and muffin. The lobby doors were locked. As we were about to leave, the desk clerk drove up in her car and got out carrying a cup of coffee and what looked like an order from a fast food restaurant. There was NO coffee and NO muffin. We were at the lobby at 8:15am, so they should have been open. When I saw my statement from Wyndham this morning, I noticed that the clerk not only didn't cancel my original room and change the reservation, I was charged for a room that was supposed to be cancelled!!! I am a Platinum member, and I have noticed over the last several weeks that the Wyndham standards for the quality of their rooms seems to be getting lower all the time. I travel a lot, and I usually stay in a hotel that is part of the Wyndham group, but if the recent stays I've had are any indication of the new "standards", I will start using a different hotel chain. Wyndham also needs to start making sure the people running their hotels can speak and understand English!!!
