We had a great stay here. Our booking was through a third party private tour operator. The room was nice, a little small but with a good balcony overlooking the pool and the lake. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The meals were buffet style, we had one very windy day where the small heating flames couldn't keep up so the food was all very cold, but it was generally tasty and well cooked. Highly recommend the spicy arrack cocktail! We also went on the waterfall hike with village visit (shout out to Ushan our guide for this part), and the sunrise boat trip on the reservoir which were both excellent. We had booked the breakfast on the lake but the wind came in for three days and meant we couldn't do it, they were very apologetic and refunded the difference, although we still had the special breakfast in the lake view restaurant. Epic sunsets over the hills.

Looking at all the great reviews we booked one double room and another triple room a month ahead as it was a long weekend. When we finally got to the hotel after a very long drive from colombo the experience we had to face was so unfortunate! After getting us to pay inadvace to confirm the booking( which was 58,000 rupees for 5 adults) when we got there they have given the superior rooms away. The management staff who were not at all apologetic just simply said well the 02 small double rooms (which you don't see in pictures) are the one's which are remaining so you'll will have to just take that! Mind you these are so small and on top it they were trying to put a small bed with a spring mattress to make it a triple!!! We were not going to be cooped up for 02 days so we had to take our business elsewhere. What still shockes me is how they acted as if it's our fault, went as far as to say we weren't sure whether you will come!!!! After paying for a full day!! It was just a low class sales gimmick to make a buck to sell their horrible dingy rooms! So if you don't want to be stranded after going all that way go to ELEPHYARD hotel in mahiyanganaya, cheaper but quality is way better!!!

We booked triple room to stay for two nights to visit Vedda’s Village as well to enjoy staying with the lake view in the pool. We came with 3 kids to get our adventure just tonight. The room didn’t have any view (please see photo below) with two massive AC cooling blocks before our window. The bathroom is too tiny to squeeze with even one kid. The open restaurant terrace with lake view is under maintenance. The staff is not self-aware what they are selling. It doesn’t cost its money and doesn’t even worthwhile staying. The hotel is empty. They are reluctant to give us better room. My kids are too tired from the road so that we must pay full price (not discounted for inconveniences). I cannot tell more than I am totally upset and angry.

I stopped at Mapakada Village hoping to grab lunch in a hurry. The staff responded brilliantly to my request for a quick lunch and they clearly exceeded my expectations, considering the late time. The meal was tasty, spices balanced, surroundings breathtaking

Comaratively cheap place and one o the very fewin the area. There werw some issues inthe rooms we booked, but once we inform they were very quick to fix them. Also as a new team theyare doing good. May br need some improvement over time. But i recomend this place..

Wrost service at mapakada Village. We check in 12th May for BB category. When we arrived they said us we can choose sri lankan or western breakfast in the morning. But at the breakfast they told that we should place our order at the night , therefore they said it take 30 minutes to arrange our breakfast. We went to the restaurant at 8am and waited for the breakfast. no one let us know to place breakfast order at night. Disgusting,, we leave the hotel without bb and they charge lkr18300 only for the room. The rooms are also not worth for the price. In the morning we asked two coffee mates packets but they told us we can't give extra packets and suggest us to order a tea pot . So many bad experiences at mapakada Village.

This is my second visit to this place. My first experience made me to take my extended family for a day out. My whole family thoroughly enjoyed the stay and the amenities. Excellent view and services. Good food and staff.. No complaints. A-Z were perfect.
