I’ll be honest, when we arrived on location, at first glance we were disappointed. There are many rocks and boulders in the water near the beach, it’s not really swimmable, the swimming pool is small and is more like a dipping pool, there weren’t many lounging chairs and barely any umbrellas, if any. Also, it seemed like it was quite far away from everything else and quite outside the centre of town. After a few hours, our impression changed and we left 4 days later rather enchanted by our stay at the Bintang Beach Villas. First, the staff is just super! Everyone is nice, polite, and always ready to help. The bedroom was very clean, it was large with lots of extra space, the fridge was really cold, the air conditioner worked well, the bathroom was spacious with a large shower stall (though the shower head should be changed to something more efficient), there is a very practical drying rack outside on the balcony, the balcony is well equipped with a table and two chairs and was not directly exposed to the sun after 11am… I loved spending time there! There is a convenience store less than 100 meters away and there are several fabulous « warungs » in the neighborhood within a 5 or 6 minute walk where delicious meals are served by local people. Furthermore, it’s easy, cheap, and very practical to rent a motorbike to get around, and you get to the main town in 10-12 minutes. On the way, you get stunning views of Gunung Agung which is very near. Snorkeling at Amed Beach is definitely a must! From the property of Bintang Beach Villas, seeing the beautiful sunrise every morning was a wonderful gift! Overall, it was a really pleasant stay, we truly enjoyed our time there.
