What a joke! The positive reviews for Suris Boutique Hotel must be from the people constantly loitering and smoking in the reception area. This place is far from the beautifully maintained hotel depicted in its profile. It is a budget hotel, but the misleading reviews set false expectations for a higher quality standard. Stay clear and be happy about it. Reception and Atmosphere: The lighting in the reception area is dim, and the entire place reeks of old cigarette smoke. The ambiance is depressing, and the hotel desperately needs a thorough cleaning with buckets of water, disinfectant, and a complete staff overhaul. Service: We arrived after 7 PM to check into the two booked rooms. As two friends travelling together, we expected some basic hospitality, but none was offered. We were expected to carry our baggage to the third floor without assistance. The man at reception was rude and unhelpful. The first issue was with the room key, which did not open the door. We had to trek back to reception to ask for help. Instead of assisting us, the staff insisted it was the correct key and told us to try again. The key turned 360 degrees in the lock without opening the door and got stuck. When we finally managed to open the door, we were hit with the stale odour of old cigarette smoke. Room and Cleanliness: The state of the rooms was appalling. There were huge stains on the linen, and it seemed the pillowcases hadn’t been washed in a long time. The bathroom was filthy, with a piece of toilet paper on the floor, suggesting it hadn't been cleaned. In the second room, the bedding didn’t even fit the bed properly and looked and smelled terrible. To add to the horrible experience, the beds were not even made with the correct size linen. You wonder what happened to the pristine, shiny white linen used in the marketing photos. It was clearly staged to pull in unsuspecting fools like us, thinking what they offer in photos is actually what you will get. Overall Experience: Our experience at Suris Boutique Hotel was horrendous. We hauled our baggage back to reception and left immediately without so much as an apology or mention of a refund from the staff. This hotel is a hellhole that should be avoided at all costs. It is in dire need of significant improvements in cleanliness, service, and overall maintenance. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere for accommodation in Bali. The photos in the profile were taken at a time when management cared, the place was clean, and the grounds were maintained. It is filthy!
