The property is very nice located in a beautiful area. Very quiet and serene. I enjoyed every part of the hotel including the room, restaurant, and common space. I did not visit the spa. The only thing they can improve on is the hotel staff. They seem very uninterested and not wanting to help. I felt by just asking a couple questions, that I was in their way, and wanted me to move along. But otherwise I would recommend this hotel.

Staying in the Bronze Suite at the Ice House Hotel was a treat! The suite was luxurious and comfortable, with a breathtaking view of the River Moy. The staff at the Ice House Hotel were exceptional. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, they went above and beyond to ensure I had a memorable experience. Their friendly and professional demeanour made me feel truly valued as a guest.

We were so looking forward to our trip, first staff member was efficient!! No extra friendliness, room was small but clean good view, drinks outside was nice no bar service tables not cleared generally scruffy, breakfast was just awful waiting staff , in particular a young girl was excellent she was so busy as the older man was to busy trying to making awkward chat wit people, Dinner was reasonable, when we arrived we were lift standing for ages wit the same waiting staff man not even acknowledging us, stater was great main not so much, spa needs upgrading it’s just not the experience I wanted l. Staff again not happy in their work as it shows in there inter action with paying customers. Expensive wk end we enjoyed ourselves but you have to when you have paid €1,700 !! Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be back

We had the most fabulous weekend away last weekend in The Ice House. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by the reception staff. We went down to the bar area and then to their amazing spa! We had the seaweed bath with a glass of Prosecco, overlooking the Moy River. After, we went up to our suite. Wow wow wow! Absolutely beautiful. Spacious and luxurious with a stand alone bath, high up and super comfortable bed and beautiful living area…. With a personalised welcome plate to mark my partner’s birthday. We then went downstairs to the restaurant for dinner, which was cooked to order and tasted beautiful. On Sunday morning we woke to look out our many windows at swans and ducks swimming up the lake and utter tranquility. Barely a ripple to be seen. Our breakfast was cooked to order and was nothing short of delicious. Finally, we checked out and went back to the spa for our Wellness on the Moy treatments. There are no words good enough to describe this experience. It was utter heaven! We left completely relaxed and rejuvenated. Sheer luxury… Thank you to the Ice House staff. It was exactly what we needed.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights in a suite for our anniversary. The good stuff - the room was spectacular, the views were great, parking and an EV charger were very handy, the treatments in the spa were mixed (one excellent, two average), the afternoon tea was below average but was priced accordingly and the building is nice with some nooks for reading. For the mini-moon package, the room was beautifully adorned. The less good stuff - to get to the suites, you have to walk through the spa. Very strange hanging around in your robe in the spa while a couple trundles through with their luggage. Dinner was not great. My vegetarian wife had her goats cheese wrapped in ham and the sirloin steak was quite fatty. Breakfast was served in the room with small things missing each day like the honey for honey/yogurt/fruit. Charging guests an extra €25/30 to use access the spa when you're paying €1,000 for two nights feels cheap. The walls in places, particularly around the stairs, were chipped and damaged. It made the place feel so aged. One of the cleaners wiped down the ladies changing room floor with a used towel from the laundry basket, which would be washed and then used on someone's body? The robes in the bedroom for the spa were so worn and tatty like a towel that had been through the wash a hundred times. The masseuse was late, which was fine, but my wife had to go look for her and the manager said she's been delayed with another client. However, when the masseuse came out, she said she hadn't been told there was a client waiting. We're not sure why anyone would lie, we were in no rush. Overall, we spent €1,500 for the weekend and expected a higher standard than we received. It's no wonder the majority of the awards they proudly display are from 2009/2010. Unfortunately, we wouldn't go back.

Birthday trip- spa is extra 25 euro each so not included in your stay. Nice rooms big bed but mattress is soft had a great sleep but we both woke up with sore backs in the morning. Lovely food in the restaurant. Attentive staff super friendly Breakfast was good too try the burrito but fancier coffees are charged out at 4.15 extra I think this should be included in the price of your breakfast. Funky smell on the bottom floor hallway smells like a grease trap not sure what it is but could do with some air fresheners in mean time. Spa- more hot tubs needed you'll have to wait to get in one!

Wow! An unforgettable stay in the most beautiful setting on the Moy estuary, convenient to restaurants and other places in Ballina. This was a surprise birthday present for my wife and we both agree it was the nicest room we ever stayed in. The view, authentic decor, bathroom, spa facilities and breakfast were second to none. She left a very precious necklace in her spa robe and the hotel retrieved it for us immediately when we called about it. We can't wait to return.

We stayed here for our 5th wedding anniversary last weekend. It was our first trip away together since our little girl was born last year so it was extra special. The whole experience was amazing. The hotel staff looked after us very well and really helped us feel welcomed. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the cocktails were so good. The weather was also really good and the spa area felt extra relaxing with the wonderful views

Top class - 5 star. Staff are excellent, Dierdre was very welcome on reception, chatty and smiley. The rooms are very spacious with lovely views over the river. I had dinner in the restaurant, it has a fantastic vibe, lighting is beautiful and the food is very very tasty and presented well. Restaurant staff couldn’t do enough for you, very attentive. Well done to all at the Ice House Hotel, fantastic place to stay when in Ballina whether on business or as a couple. I believe they have a great spa area, unfortunately I didn’t get time to use it, it’s a great reason for my return.
