Very good value for money, well located next to the Sky Train. A Seven Eleven, as well as plenty of restaurants and massage parlors right next door. The rooftop swimming pool is always a pleasure! Efficient basic room with a nice view of Bangkok city. Cleanliness could be slightly improved, we feel that the hotel is a little old.

Advantages: Located in a quiet area near a lively area, a few steps from shops, restaurants and metro stations. Disadvantages: No breakfast offered and poor insulation of the rooms.

This is my second stay. The facility has a retro feel, but all the basic amenities are in place, it's close to the station, it has a bathtub, and it's great value for money. The staff are also very kind.

The location is very good, about 5 minutes away from Nana station. The service staff are very nice. The only room does not come with a hair dryer, and the facilities such as the melting tank are also old.

This used to be a good value stay but recently they made minor refurbishments to the rooms, added touch ups to an old hotel already falling apart. Redid varnish and paint, nothing special, the place still looks the same and now have increased their price quite a bit. The lobby is the same glum looking and dimly lit entrance space. Reception remains is cold and unfriendly. Staff are unwilling to price match and insist on the highest pricing for walk in. Toilets in the rooms still leak and don't flush properly. None of the superficial "improvements" or repairs to fixtures that previously needed repairing justifies the price increase. Other budget hotels in the vicinity and nearby area have made similar improvements but still managed to keep their prices from going up. The rooms are clean, the beds very comfortable. Other than that not much else positive I can say when you can get better value at other nearby properties. As of Oct 2023, there are three buildings adjacent to the back of the hotel undergoing demolition and renovations. If you book a room facing the back, you will be subject to this noise from 7am to 4-5pm, sometimes later. These are big jobs, I don't see them ending until at least Jan 2024, maybe later. If you book a room a the front, just know there is an al fresco restaurant immediately opposite the building which operates until around 11 or 12, there is also a restaurant with a live band 40m down the road clearly audible from these rooms in the evenings.

Expectations were low as this was just a stop over for 3 nights, before exploring more of Thailand. The entrance is unassuming and feels like you've stepped back into the 60s, with lots of dark wood panels and COVID style reception desk. Something else from days gone by ... Great service from all the staff. Room was on the 3rd floor. Spacious, huge bed, air con, TV, kettle and mini fridge. Bathroom was the most dated, hand held shower over the bath and a hand basin which didn't drain well. The room was quiet, even though we looked over Soi 8. Location is excellent with great restaurants and bars minutes away. The BTS is close too, also ample taxis and tuktuks. Conclusion: For a few nights to get the Bangkok experience..... on a budget, and with a pool, I'd recommend this hotel. If you want luxury or are staying longer, with a corresponding higher budget, I'd go elsewhere.

This is a terribly run hotel! DO NOT STAY HERE! Management are just out to rip people off. We got scammed in the form of them insisting we pay for a hand towel that had a streak of dirt in it. They were just looking for us to pay more money for something - anything? They charged the equivalent of £5 which is about 10 times what it was worth and it would have just gone in the washing machine and been fine. The hotel itself is ok - Standard rooms, facilities, etc. The managers yelled at us and we’re so rude over the towel. We’ve been travelling for months and months and this is our only bad review and experience.

DO NOT STAY HERE - WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! We love travelling and have been travelling through Asia for a couple of months now and have had nothing but great experiences until we stayed at ‘The Promenade’ on Sukumvit Soi 8 in Bangkok. This was singularly our worst experience to date. The owners were so rude, unprofessional and impolite. Never have we been treated this way. It is a complete scam - AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! The scam is to find something to charge you for. We left a few dirty marks on a hand towel and the owners insisted we pay £5 or 200 Thai baht to replace it. In England (let alone Thailand) they don’t cost this much and it was all because of their old fashioned plumbing system. Exposed water pipes in the bathroom lead to a drain and I accidentally brushed my shoe on it and once wet (after walking around Bangkok all day) it left some dirty marks. Nothing a washing machine wouldn’t get out. Their archaic plumbing system created the problem yet the owners wouldn’t listen and informed we pay 10 x the amount of what a hand towel is worth. Reading other reviews this is clearly a scam they implement often to RIP OFF their customers. When trying to leave, the owners ambushed us and when we threw our money on to the counter ( frustrated with being ripped off) thru screamed “get the f**k out of our hotel” - they ripped us off, scanned us, got what they wanted and still swore at us. All of which is recorded on CCTV. There were many other complaints too; - stinky hallway - stale cigarette smell everywhere - can’t trust staff as signs everywhere saying “don’t leave valuables” but then no safety deposit box in room - or mention of anything on check in. - emailed and requested hairdryer and reply said go down to reception and get yourself. - no breakfast - no laundry service - tiny, shallow pool - no pool towels - rudest owners we’ve ever encountered in all our years of travelling - unprofessional, rude and impolite Shame, as we love Asia and often make friends with those that we stay with and go back and visit. The owners ruined this particular experience for us. Over a small hand towel? It was hardly stained and begs the question - what are towels for? Customer service was non existent.
