We enjoyed a 4 night stay at Azul Paradise we stayed in the over water bungalow #6, this place is very relaxing, the location is very remote and truly amazing if you are looking to enjoy some time away. The staff was very accommodating, they made our stay 100% worth it. The layout of the bungalow it self is nice, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and nice, the glass view port is great, I enjoyed seeing many different sea life, including string rays and different fish, the big windows in the bungalows are great, waking up to beautiful sunrises and enjoying the sunsets, was just breathtaking. But I will say the bungalow does needs some updating and maintenance work, the rug was old and a fall hazard, the towels were old and stained, the furniture is dirty, the wood deck and ladder to the ocean needs some up keep, you do not get a key to the bungalow, they say it’s very safe, you are only able to lock it from the inside, a working safe is in the room, which we used, the satellite internet worked great. It is noted that the AC is limited, due to the resort being ECO-friendly, no surprise there, we only had AC from 6pm-7am, there is a fan in the room but it is set to the lowest setting and unable to adjust, in the open floor restaurant on the second level there are little ceiling fans, they didn’t produce any air, it would have been nice having extra big fans for some air, it does get really hot and humid in this region, in my opinion for the amount paid for the resort, there should be AC available at all times. The food was good, Chef Chepi will introduce himself and accommodate to any special requests. Just be aware once you are at the resort you are limited to what they offer from there restaurant only, food and drinks are a separate charge. The only other option is paying for a boat ride each way, to another island, aprox 40 min away for other food options. The food packages are not cheap, so do your research before hand, some of the menu items were not always available. We enjoyed a personal boat tour, we saw dolphins, slots, star fish, corrals, taking us through the mangroves and neighboring island local villages was nice. Over all we really enjoyed our stay, Jordano and Ricardo the manager’s on site were very nice, they answered all our questions and accommodations before and during our stay. Our servers, Orlando, Jerónimo, Melissa and Miriam were extremely nice and attentive, most of the resort workers are from the small local island community, we enjoyed talking to them and learning about there native culture, they offer a tour of there community, if desired. This place has so much potential and could be a true paradise. We travel a lot, and in our opinion it is over priced for what they offer, they are definitely missing attention to details, this being said, the view, the great hospitality from the staff and the tranquility you get from the overwater bungalow is worth a visit.
