Yuantong Pagoda Inn Reviews

Very nice to stay in Yuantong pagoda inn, very peaceful and beautiful View. from the room can see Simatai Great wall and Gubei town. Room was clean and comfortable. I really love this place. Staff are very nice and friendly.

Firstly, Gubei Watertown is a very well managed tourist destination and Yuantong Pagoda is one of the accomodation there. Our room is peaceful and quiet and the small challenge is to walk up 2 flights of stairs to reach accomodation. It is well worth it as this high vantage point offer a good view of the town below and the Simatai Great Wall behind. The breakfast is super healthy and the tea they offered is nice. The water is so clean you can consume it off the tap in the washroom Interesting feature at the Pagoda : Do note that there is a cavern beneath the Pagoda which house interesting statues

I traveled here with my best friend and I was surprised by how amazing the location was. It is inside the temple near the pagoda, the rooms are literally inside a temple, it is pretty cool. Big rooms, Very clean, nice light, very interesting breakfast. We loved our stay there, especially the view. The rooms are way better in real than in the photos. Best place to stay in Gubei!

A pretty interesting hotel set in a temple! Amenities were very new and the room was clean although a bit small. Breakfast was delicious!

Great view from the pagoda area, you can see the whole city. Room is clean and comfortable.

The stay was offered at Junyue Inn instead because Yuantong Pagoda Inn is in the maintenance period. The Junyue Inn is located at the centre of the water town. The room is very spacious and there is a back yard overlooking the river. It has a comfortable bed and nice sofa seats for relaxation. The stay offers the free admission to the Onsen and it is really relax after a cold and tired walk.

We had a wonderful stay at the Pagoda. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We both have allergies and when the staff were unsure they asked a guest who spoke English to double check which we really appreciated. The food was delicious. The coupon for the hot springs was a great bonus too, we had a beautiful evening overlooking the Great Wall.

Excellent location, clean room and can drink water from water pipe

Room was clean and they provided shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste. They even had the option of ferrying your luggage to the service center. Breadfast can be better :) Wanted to try the vegetarian dinner but the restaurant closed early by 7.30pm.

Very exotic and interesting location in a temple under the main Yuantong pagoda. Very friendly and helpful staff. It helps a lot if you know Chinese and have WeChat tho. Room is super clean and mosquito-free. Bed is hard - the thick-blanket-on-wood type, which is typical for Chinese countryside. It's also quiet and at night the view from the pagoda terrace is amazing. Breakfast is traditionally Chinese and delicious (no milk or bread). An entire preset menu presented very quickly to you on a platter.

A perfect, relaxing and unique stay at a quiet part of GuBei Watertown. Breakfast was delicious and the view from the room was excellent. The only flaw at the moment is the hardness of the bed. But this is nothing compared to the nice experience. Note that to get to the front desk and room, you’ll have to climb at least 100 steps. No elevator or ramps at the property.

The service was great. The shower was always hot. The food was good and there was a variety set meal, good to introduce you to local dishes. The tatami room was a tad small for two people, but we thought of it as cozy. The hotel is on top of a small hill that you must climb steps to get to, but the WTown service will deliver your luggage to the hotel. Plan your day accordingly. The best part was the uniqueness of the experience. The temple is gorgeous and offers a great view of the town, day and night, and you have lots of opportunities to take photos if you're staying there. The pagoda is part of the temple, so you're staying in a landmark of the town.

Every time I come to Gubei Water Town, I choose Yuantong Pagoda Courtyard. It is in a quiet location, with a high view, warm and thoughtful service, especially its breakfast, which is exquisite and delicious. It is very convenient to go to the scenic spot from Shanshuicheng Scenic Area Station. You can also visit Yuantong Pagoda in the first batch in the morning. I will come again next time.
