Hotels Near Hubertussee in Berlin

We were in transit on the way home and just needed a place for a good nights sleep, which was close to the Autobahn. This place fit the bill and it was really clean. Also the size of the room(s) was impressive. Additionally, the area is really quiet, so we had a good nights sleep.

One night was booked in Wyndham Garden Hennigsdorf, we look forward to it. Even when checking at 16:00 on 09.04.22 we had to pay the booked double room immediately. We had not yet seen it. When asked why I had to pay immediately, I received no acceptable explanation. Probably we were trusted with something bad. The way to room 220 was designed with black tape. This was totally fussing and dirty. The bathroom was a waste stick, which was totally roasting from below. Just a reverse. A ceiling was not properly covered. “Thanks to this,” I saw the cover below with huge dark spots - it was awful, just incredible what was offered to me as guest. I immediately registered at the reception. I wanted to show my defects to the staff member personally, he said to be alone and cannot go away. He gave me the key for the 216. Our night in this was not beautiful, because constantly heard the wind blow through the room. It's indescribable because it was all night. On the next day we were told that the laminate in the room was due to it. The stay was very terrible and we were so happy that we could leave the hotel again after one night. Our findings have been photographed! Maybe someone wants to see it from the management. It is unimaginable that this house has 4 stars (2019 - June 2022). I haven't found these stars! I'll never put a foot in this house again.

Express Hotel All room specifications are the same. Breakfast is normal. Those in normal European hotels are slightly simple. Nothing in the room. You need to prepare yourself. The nearest subway station walks for ten minutes. If you go to travel, it is not convenient to take the subway. The subway is a little longer. The surrounding environment is still quiet. It is not the place where the Chinese are getting together. There is an ice cream shop opposite the hotel. 1.2 Euro is delicious. There is also a outside. The atmosphere of the restaurant that eats the steak is very good. Below is the photo of the restaurant. It’s okay to stroll to the subway station. There is a supermarket. You can also go to the subway bus because Berlin’s public transportation is particularly difficult.

What a find! Not the best of areas but the hostel is very modern, super clean and tidy. Breakfast on offer too. Great selection of cold meats and cheeses. Croissants, yoghurt, cereals etc. Free coffees and teas from the urn although ' fancy' coffees and teas were available from behind the reception. Super WiFi. 5 min walk to the u bahn station. Great location. I will definitely be back.

On checking in, we were assigned a room, went to our and it had somebody else's suitcase in it. We went back to the reception and got it sorted. But as two tourists who didn't speak the lingo, we were lucky to have a German friend with us to help. However, the staff seemed unconcerned about the error, indicating this might happen as not as much of a one off error as you might like to think. Our friend was also told we were lucky to be given another room as the hotel was overbooked, and we could easily have been told to go elsewhere. With this in mind, I'd recommend not paying in advance, as we don't know how easy it difficult it might have been to get a refund in that situation, especially as we'd used a booking agent not direct. Thankfully the second room we were given was nice, spacious, clean and comfortable but we did feel nervous that someone else might be allocated our room when we were out. That didn't happen, as far as we know. The hotel is conveniently located for access to the city centre, close to various train stations a short walk away and a selection of local shops and restaurants. The breakfast was excellent! Didn't use the gym facilities but they looked good. The hotel bar was well stocked and friendly, comfortable indoor and outdoor seating although it did seem to close early.

Although the room are nice (good coffee and nicely furnished), the overall experience is rather poor. The staff (1 person only during day and the night shift) is far too inexperienced and likely all below the age of 20. We had the change room twice due to leakage in the air conditioning system. Making sure the wooden floor did not damage from the water, towels were used, but it was clear the staff didn’t bother and made a fuzz about giving us a new room. Also when you call the staff from your room with the room telephone, they do not pick up. When you call them with your cell phone, they pick up. Why? Further, we selected the hotel partially because of the good looking gym. Surprise, you pay for the gym, each time you use it: €15 per person. The Spa is not open, due to the fact that the hotel recently opened (?). It is clear that the hotel is significantly understaffed and that the service level is poor. Cost cutting is understandable post covid, but we got the feeling that the expenses applied for building this place were high, and that cost cutting may make this place profitable long time in the future. Location is good; close to well functioning public transport. Breakfast was fine, no worries there.

I chose this hotel as I was touring Berlin with a friend for a few days, but he was arriving a couple of days later than me. This proved to be a great option in terms of budget, distance from the city centre and proximity to public transport. Once you come up the steps from the U-Bahn at Siemenssdamm, it’s immediately to your right. The member of staff in the reception was warm and friendly and spoke very good English as my German is not very good after studying it a little at school 25 years ago. The room was large, very clean, and well-equipped. It was too warm for me, and turning the air con down didn’t help, but the window opens very wide. The bathroom also had a bath which was a bonus. The bed is firm which I really enjoyed, but I appreciate that won’t be to everyone’s liking. I’m sure I requested the room not to be serviced but the maid had been in every day. I didn’t use the TV but the Wi-Fi was a little patchy and slow at times. There is plenty of plug sockets including one near the bed. There was a soft light on the floor lamp and a desk lamp which was great. I had the buffet breakfast one morning, which had a great and varied selection of hot and cold food, this included cereals, bread, cold meats, cheeses, eggs, sausages, fresh juice, tea, and coffee. There is a supermarket across the road open till 10 pm, which was handy to get food for dinner. Yeah, it is quiet, and felt safe. I couldn’t hear any noise from any adjacent rooms. If I’m visiting Berlin in the future on my own, I will probably stay here again.

The front desk staff was very accommodating in getting me into my room quite early after an overnight flight. Rooms leave much to be desired. Beds are very tiny - what a toddler would sleep on. Beds are very, very firm. Room and bathroom weren't very clean. I had my 'do not disturb' sign on my door and received a knock from housekeeping. Repeatedly. When I went to the door, thinking the sign must have fallen off, the housekeeper pushed past me, handed me my 'do not disturb' sign and insisted I replace it with the 'clean my room' sign. It is a 20-30 minute drive to city center. The area is questionable for walking around on your own as a female traveler.
