Hôtel Bordeaux Clémenceau by Happyculture Reviews

My experience was not great. I had booked this hotel because of the location and they advertised AC in the room. My wife and I arrived at 3 PM on Saturday. Checked in and was given the room key. When we got to the room, it seemed a bit hot and we turned on the AC. We left around 30 minutes later to enjoy our time in this beautiful city. We got back to the hotel about 11 PM to shower and relax. The room was still hot, keep in mind, there is a heat wave happening the week of June 25. I went to ask the night clerk why the room is so hot and I'm told the AC is broken, that's why there is a fan. I was under the impression, the AC was broken for the entire hotel. No apology or explanation why we were not told of the AC problem or given the opportunity to find a different hotel. I emailed Trip.com whom I booked with and was told they would look into it. After a sleepless night, we went down to see the morning clerk and was told it was only our room that had a broken AC, and now they have another room for us. I again contacted Trip.com who said they understood my concerns and would take care of it. I was eventually offered 20 euro in trip coins and a free breakfast to include Coffee and toast. How's that for a slap in the face. I am now in the process of contacting my CC company for at least a partial refund. Lastly, the rooms are old with towel bars loose from the wall and just not a well maintained hotel. There were some bright spots, and some of the staff were nice. But overall I would rate our experience a D+.

Address of the hotel is very nice. It is located in the city centre of Bordeaux. But the hotel is a little bit noisy at night because there are restaurants under the hotel.

Good location. Located in the center of Bordeaux, you can walk around from the hotel. I had a pleasant early morning jog through Bordeaux, which is not very popular.

Very good service and location, the only thing I have to complain about is the variety of the breakfast menu, then everything else is perfect.

A comfortable hotel in a central location with plenty of restaurants and bars. The only negative is that the train station is a 45 minute walk or 15 minute tram ride. My room was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated and overlooked the main street. It was small but cosy! Staff were friendly. Breakfast wasn’t vast but just about sufficient. This wasn’t the cheapest hotel on my travels around France (£75 per night) but it was an enjoyable stay!

Basic but clean, centrally located and perfect for a couple of nights stay on a busy city break trip. We didn't have the breakfast but Bordeaux city is full of wonderful restaurants and cafes. We enjoyed a meal in the restaurant next door also. 2019

Great location walking distance of many attractions and by the metro and bus stops. Located by many cafes and shops. I didn't have to go too far to eat or drinks. Very friendly staff in the hotel. Breakfast options very limited. Only provide soya milk no other non dairy free mil options. The room was comfortable just one thing to add the plugs should be more accessible. I liked the idea that you can decline housekeeping for day or so. When they did come to clean room the cup was not replaced with new cup and no toilet paper. Overall I would stay here again as it's central and lovely staff.

Booked in for 3 night break. Bit disappointed. Room was small, not as in pictures. Bathroom was tiny, shower miniscule. Couldn't turn in it or would knock the shower tap off. Shower was smaller than the one in my caravan. Work was going on in the hote, which wasn't stated at time of booking, any noise didn't effect us but there was constant dust on the flooring. There Very little space in room to lay things down, only a small table and tiny shelf in the toilet. As per square foot, room is probably the most expensive I've ever paid for. Booked re location which was ok, just inside pedestrian area, close to a tram route from airport, that it had Aircon and re profile pictures which showed a bigger rooms. Staff though were friendly and helpful. Don't think I'd use it again or go back to Bordeaux which we found massively expensive.

Very cozy hotel in the city centre of the beautiful city of Bordeaux. The rooms are very clean with a spectacular view. Right in front of the hotel you have a bus stop and a tramway not too far off so getting around is no problem. On top of that the staff is exceptionally friendly and will do everything to help you out!

Worst experience ever!!! The rooms are in the hostel category not 3*hotel. Cleanliness is also questionable, but unfortunately compare to the other things it's not the worst one. air-condition is sooo loud and is not posible to sleep with. At 5.30 a.m. hotel staff started to make a horrible noise just next to our door(washing, breakfast preparation, talking...). When we asked them to be less loud they said thats there job and they don't care. That doesn't stopped until 8.30 a.m. when we finally quit trying to sleep. Unacceptable behaviour and conditions for one hotel!

I loved the hotel, very nice and the position is amazing, close to everything. You can go everywhere from it just by foot, the staff was very nice. The room was small but perfect considered that I didn’t spend much time in it. I truly recommend this hotel.

On arrival stephanie the receptionist was excellent incredibly helpful. External Buildings beautiful . Rooms are spotless view from our rooms gorgeous. Id definitely stay again. Excellent for touring the old city of Bordeaux filled with history. Loads of shops minutes from this hotel . Breakfast was excellent to . No complaints from me . Faultless hotel.

This hotel is located in the most central location surrounded by bars/restaurants/many amenities and who could ask for more. The hotel is an old style French property. The rooms with a private bathroom are small but totally adequate for a short stay. The bathroom is a decent size but the shower is small but it’s lovely as the water is hot. A tv in the room which was easy to stream Netflix from your phone if you had the time to watch tv! Breakfast is located on the 4th floor - there is a lift which makes easy access. The breakfast is lovely - continental style with something for everyone - a good coffee too! They went that bit extra and got me gluten free bread! I enjoyed my breakfasts at the hotel and the room was gorgeous. All the staff were extremely helpful and very nice. Which make the stay even more special. The only problem I had was the cleaning of the rooms it was a bit adhoc but I had no problems getting extra towels or other things I required I just asked. As I was there just for a few days it wasn’t too important. The other thing the room required was some drawers for underwear but I understand the hotel will be having a refurb later this year. Another plus point is a fantastic coffee machine which is free in reception All in all - my son and I had a fantastic stay in this hotel we were happy and comfortable and the location was knock out - Bordeaux is an amazing City and one I hope to return to again soon. I've been traveling for over 45 years all over the world. This is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Why? I paid for a bedroom and bathroom and just got the bedroom with partial bathroom. The shower was "clogged". It did NOT drain. After being handed "Destop" to unclog the shower, I was told it wasn't that big of a deal. "Destop" did not work. So no shower. No refund. No "pardon madame". No complimentary breakfast (that would have worked for me). It was pretty much "oh well....". And......I was wondering what the odors were in the hotel........plumbing issue no doubt! TRIPADVISOR.....please remove the *** star rating as this is absurd. Maybe a ** at the most.
