I had a super quick flying visit (about 8 hours!) on a last minute booking to Old Store Guest House in mid September. 2024. I was attending a conference at nearby Goodwood House, for which this B&B is perfectly located. It’s a shame my stay was so fleeting, as this is a really lovely place. Sadly I couldn’t check in until close to midnight and had to leave early, otherwise I would have taken time to have a lie-in in the beautiful twin bedroom - Room 6 at the top. I went for the cheapest room given it was such a quick stay, but I certainly didn’t feel it was lacking in any way. I would also have liked to wander around the lovely area surrounding the property. As it was though, in the limited time available, I did at least get a great night’s sleep in a bed (and bedding) that felt as soft as a cloud, had a nice hot shower in an immaculately clean and tasteful bathroom and a fab breakfast the next morning before sprinting off to my conference. With the exception of Monday and Tuesday when I think the chef is off, you can order hot breakfast, but even without that, options are plentiful. Everything was nicely furnished and immaculately clean.Communication before the stay with the owner, Matt, was great , particularly as I booked this on the same day that I was due to arrive and I saw him at breakfast where he was just as friendly and helpful. The check -in, even for late arrivals like me, was really straightforward too.
