It happened that I went to find friends during the Spring Festival and stayed in this motel. This is the first time I live in a motel, it feels great and convenient, there is free parking, the decoration is also very new, and the service industry is very good. The American restaurant downstairs is also delicious.

I was visiting my son who is at Bristol uni. After extensive research this hotel was absolutely perfect as its dog friendly and has a small fridge in room. My dog requires medication that is kept in a fridge . The hotel is in a perfect location we loved clifton and its restaurants /bars. The staff were all so lovely and friendly nothing was too much bother . I had a small double it was compact but perfect for me and dog. Bathroom a little dated but spotless. Loved the toiletries. I'm not scoring it perfect as the stairs could be a but of a struggle for people. My poor dog wasn't a fan. Also parking in clifton is a bit of a nightmare but in fairness the hotel tell you parking is limited. I also felt the continental breakfast could have a croissant or pastries. I would recommend this hotel 100 % . I will.be back when visiting my son I don't think I'd stay anywhere else

Honestly, the team here at the Mercure have gone above and beyond. I’m here for a business trip as I’m attending a trade show within the hotel and I have found the whole experience brilliant. I checked into my room but my toilet had a bit of an overexcited flush, the maintenance team came out to rectify but they upgraded my room without hesitation. I mentioned that I would be back here in 4 days time to stay due to my sister getting married around the corner and when I say that they are pulling out all the stops for her for that evening before the wedding, that isn’t even the half of it. I can’t say too much incase she reads this review beforehand but thank you a million times to Mahin and Stan for everything you’re doing for her. You’re making a Big Sister and her favourite person very happy! We’ll definitely be back!

The location is ideal for anyone travelling by coach in Bristol. The staff were so friendly and the room was fantastic. It had everything I needed - hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner, an iron/ironing board. It was a quiet and peaceful hotel too. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Originally hailing from the area, it felt strange returning to old haunting grounds. The hotel has very much grown up since the 80's when I last visited. We booked an accessible room with breakfast. Parking could be an issue with less able or limited mobility (the disabled parking is at the bottom of a steep approach to the entrance) Ringing reception from my car, a very nice young man said it would be ok to park outside the main entrance thus avoiding the steep incline. Our room was on the 6th floor and didnt have a ”view” as at the side/back of the hotel. However, in terms of accessibility, we couldn't fault our room. The room was spacious for my husbands wheelchair, with both USB and plug sockets next to the bed which is good for charging his wheelchair. The bathroom is a wet room with a nice set up of lower sink and grab rails etc. We enjoyed a couple of drinks in the modern bar area before going to eat in the restaurant. We chatted to the staff who were very efficient and very friendly. In particular Julie, who was Maitre 'D was very attentive to our needs and we had a good rapport with her. Our evening meal was cooked extremely well and was very tasty. Breakfast was equally well cooked with a great selection of items to choose from. Again, Julie helped with serving our food directly to us as I also have mobility issues. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate in revisiting this hotel, it is one of the best hotels in terms of quality and accessibility that we have stayed in.

This is a very nice, new and clean hotel sitting in the romantic Bath. Outside the window you can see and feel Bath culture. The room is pretty large enough. You can also enough whole day in yhe hotel with plenty of facilities like swimming pool and spa. Hotel also offer a fabulous breakfast and good service in the morning. The only thing that can be improved is there is no parking. You have to park in Charlotte street car park which take you 5min walk. The good thing is the car park is quite big and allow overnight parking while the car park next to hotel only allow few hours parking max.

4.7/5
Outstanding
GGuest UserWe arrived on a late flight from Portugal with a particular room booked which we had done through a third party booking service (queen). The hotel was clearly very busy and we were put into a room with twin double beds. This was not ideal and we asked the receptionist if it was possible to have the room we had booked. She moved us to a much nicer room (same footprint but better layout which meant I could share a bed with my husband!). This was a real 5/5 from us because despite an initial problem the really kind and professional receptionist went out of her way to fix it, and also comped us a couple of drinks which was unexpected and massively appreciated. It has made me much more likely to choose this chain again, knowing that a small hiccup will be dealt with nicely. Great staff. Room was comfortable and well proportioned and I like the fact that the toiletries are in dispensers so less plastic waste! The bar was lovely as well with really nice common areas to relax. Late night bar staff were charming and friendly. Well done Hilton!
HHelennnnnnnA lovely building with a nice forecourt area, reception was very welcoming, bright and cheerful. All the staff we spoke to were lovely and helpful. The only bad point was not having a car park, but they do offer discount on the nearby public car parks.
GGuest UserIncredible staff. That’s the first thing to stay, they really make the difference. The hotel itself is very on trend, you get a free cocktail on arrival, and the breakfast which isn’t expensive, is good. The room is very comfy and well appointed, the bed was comfortable and the shower room, although small, was more than adequate. It’s all about the staff though, incredible service.
GGuest UserA two night stay for two couples meeting at Bristol for a weekend getaway Stay could have been better in all areas Having not known what time we would arrive and not knowing the area we had pre-booked a table for evening meal at Chophouse the restaurant attached to the hotel, we thought this to be the easiest option. Very quiet in both the bar and restaurant area we expected a first class service … unfortunately not what we got! Cocktails took over 20 minutes to make which was really disappointing (they were nice enough when they finally arrived) We went through to the restaurant offered a set menu and normal menu Two chops were ordered from the set menu which ironically (chophouse) were not available a burger and fish off the main menu were also ordered, the fish resembling a sprat was quite disappointing, the burger was good - thank goodness the company was fantastic as the food didn’t surpass much more than ok. Having experienced the evening bar and the slow service well the breakfast experience downstairs was something else!! 2 mornings for breakfast quite a contrast too, Saturday morning was quite good, everything was available, cereal, juices, selection of breads, pots of yogurt and granola, smoked salmon and hot food we had breakfast at 9.00am, the restaurant Sunday we had breakfast at 9.30am, what a contrast, tables hadn’t been cleared (there were several empty and in this state) we cleared a table ourselves and had to request for a waitress to clean and wipe the table down. Where we had placed the previous used plates and cups , were left there and not cleared by the waitress. We went to the service area and it was a nightmare; throughout the time we were there the service was poor with lack of food displays and lack of cutlery and bowls, there was just chaos and what seemed like one guy working and trying to keep the place moving. In contrast to the day before, juices were running out, no available cereal bowls, no bread for toasting, no yoghurt granolas, at one point no mugs or glasses to drink from and the hot food ran out with something constantly being waited on. There were two waitresses that were a waste of time, they needed to be managed and to be productive, they had no idea about offering great service …. When we commented to the guy about being busy he said this is nothing 😳 The room was on the first floor at the rear, quiet and a comfortable bed. However, the door didn’t shut properly and had to be pulled / pushed hard to ensure was shut. The bathroom was ok however the shower tray filled and you were standing in water that took an eternity to drain away
GGuest UserThe hotel was very smart modern and clean. Our room was small but we had booked a standard room. Price was good compared to other hotels locally.
The hotel is right next to the harbour and in the middle of a bustling nightlife. We hadn’t considered this when booking. Although the location was great, the noise from outside could be heard so loudly in our room at night. I actually thought a window was open, but it wasn’t. This went on till the early hours, music, shouting etc, so we found it hard to sleep. The bed was very comfortable though and the room spotlessly clean.
Tea/coffee facilities were provided in our room, an iron and hairdryer were also there. The bathroom had a good shower, towels were provided.
We didn’t dine but I did purchase a drink from the bar. After paying I was told it would be brought over to me. When it was the bartender informed me my card had declined and asked me to pay again. I did, however when I checked my bank later both payments had been paid out. Not very happy about this.
Although a nice looking hotel and great price, due to the noise level at night we wouldn’t stay again. If that wouldn’t bother you the hotel would be a great choice.
GGuest UserGreat location just by Temple Mead Station and a short walk to the 'bright lights of Bristol' Staff are very helpful especially the gentleman behind the front desk who helped us get a taxi on the 'wet' graduation day. Staff at the bar especially the young lady who put in the hours there were very personable and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked. Highly recommend this mid priced hotel
GGuest UserHave used this hotel many times in the past when seeing a show in the Hippodrome. It’s one of the few hotels in Bristol with a decent car park on site (£12 per day). It’s a 15 minute walk to the Hippodrome and easily do able. Outside the hotel can be found some cafes and a pub. The hotel hasn’t really changed much over the years. The Novotel sign has worn off the front door but otherwise the interior is the same since I visited it a few years ago. The room (114) was at the rear of the hotel, clean, large comfy bed and most importantly it was quiet at night. Pillows were very hard however and a choice of pillow in the room would have been good. I also have to knock a star off because the staff at reception were not the most friendly. No conversation, no mention of belonging to the loyalty club, just all very formal. That’s not a problem if that’s what you like but a little more friendliness/warmth would of been nice. No one asked how our stay was when we left. Otherwise another lovely stay at this hotel.
JJupiterMeowMeowThree major advantages: 1) The room is really large and generous! Even the bathroom is very big and has a bathtub 2) The view from the top floor is great 3) The location is very good, just downstairs is the bus stop, and the airport bus stop is a two-minute walk away
Three major shortcomings: 1) The room is too old and not well maintained. 2) There is no socket at the bedside, which is inconvenient. 3) The heating in the room can be turned up to the maximum to ensure that it is ”not cold” but cannot be said to be ”warm”.
Breakfast is still a typical English breakfast.
In addition, the front desk is also very friendly, but when I asked for slippers, the final reply was ”There are no slippers” (??)
GGuest UserAttended Christmas party night with work, food was great and service perfect. We stayed over as part of the package and found the room to be comfortable and full of natural light. Breakfast was very nice and served in a beautiful historic room was the highlight! Will be back this Christmas!
GGuest UserIt was a nice hotel on the whole, but the room had water/damp stains on the wall and could have been cleaned better (few hairs and dust etc). Staff were all very friendly and the facilities were average, as you would expect from a budget hotel.
