Good basic facilities and a great breakfast. The guest house is in the centre of the club and bar area of Bristol, so lots of noise all night. There is no parking and you have to leave the car in a multi story car park about a ten minute walk away. Which cost £36 for my weekend. No facilities for disabled, but does have a small lift. No view except the back of other buildings. I was arriving about 9.00pm and informed reception before hand. I was hot, tired and sticky. The girl manning the desk at night was really miserable handed me my keys and told me that my breakfast wasn’t included and I would have to pay £13 for each meal and left me wondering what the hell was going on. I was too tired to argue and went to my room. It was a small double that overlooked a grubby, dark courtyard. Another building was right in front of me with windows looking straight into mine. No wardrobe as room was too small. Good breakfast with great waiters. Another miserable girl behind the counter, who wouldn’t speak. The day staff were lovely though. All in all, a tiring weekend with very little sleep due to the noise and heat. The two nights cost me £232.20 and no, I didn’t have to pay extra for breakfast. Would I stay again. NO!

Incredible staff. That’s the first thing to stay, they really make the difference. The hotel itself is very on trend, you get a free cocktail on arrival, and the breakfast which isn’t expensive, is good. The room is very comfy and well appointed, the bed was comfortable and the shower room, although small, was more than adequate. It’s all about the staff though, incredible service.

A two night stay for two couples meeting at Bristol for a weekend getaway Stay could have been better in all areas Having not known what time we would arrive and not knowing the area we had pre-booked a table for evening meal at Chophouse the restaurant attached to the hotel, we thought this to be the easiest option. Very quiet in both the bar and restaurant area we expected a first class service … unfortunately not what we got! Cocktails took over 20 minutes to make which was really disappointing (they were nice enough when they finally arrived) We went through to the restaurant offered a set menu and normal menu Two chops were ordered from the set menu which ironically (chophouse) were not available a burger and fish off the main menu were also ordered, the fish resembling a sprat was quite disappointing, the burger was good - thank goodness the company was fantastic as the food didn’t surpass much more than ok. Having experienced the evening bar and the slow service well the breakfast experience downstairs was something else!! 2 mornings for breakfast quite a contrast too, Saturday morning was quite good, everything was available, cereal, juices, selection of breads, pots of yogurt and granola, smoked salmon and hot food we had breakfast at 9.00am, the restaurant Sunday we had breakfast at 9.30am, what a contrast, tables hadn’t been cleared (there were several empty and in this state) we cleared a table ourselves and had to request for a waitress to clean and wipe the table down. Where we had placed the previous used plates and cups , were left there and not cleared by the waitress. We went to the service area and it was a nightmare; throughout the time we were there the service was poor with lack of food displays and lack of cutlery and bowls, there was just chaos and what seemed like one guy working and trying to keep the place moving. In contrast to the day before, juices were running out, no available cereal bowls, no bread for toasting, no yoghurt granolas, at one point no mugs or glasses to drink from and the hot food ran out with something constantly being waited on. There were two waitresses that were a waste of time, they needed to be managed and to be productive, they had no idea about offering great service …. When we commented to the guy about being busy he said this is nothing 😳 The room was on the first floor at the rear, quiet and a comfortable bed. However, the door didn’t shut properly and had to be pulled / pushed hard to ensure was shut. The bathroom was ok however the shower tray filled and you were standing in water that took an eternity to drain away

My partner and I have just returned from a very enjoyable weekend in Bristol(19th-21st Aug). We stayed here back in July this year so decided to return. We recommended the hotel to two friends who came and stayed there as well. We had room 213 which is at the back of the building but as we only needed the room to rest it didn't matter. The room was clean and very comfortable with a good shower. Check in was simple and the staff were very pleasant. We like the idea of the hotel having its own ironing room which we used whilst there. We used the bar on the Friday night when we returned to the hotel, Two double Hendrick gins and a mixer was nearly £20.00 ! But I suppose that's city prices for you. We are looking forward to returning in October for another enjoyable time. Thankyou to you all at Ibis Temple Quay.

Stayed for three nights at Filton. We found the reception service very good when we arrived and service generally was excellent. Our room was comfortable and clean and well appointed, with an iron, ironing board, hairdryer and tea and coffee. The air conditioning was easily controllable and the window opened slightly for fresh air. Despite what some previous reviews have said, the complementary breakfast was really very good. Quality sausages, bacon etc with ( for a hotel) good scrambled eggs. Tea and coffee on tap, juices, cereals and a choice of breads, also waffles. Good to see gluten free bread available. There were plenty of fruits and yogurt available . The staff also worked hard at keeping all items topped up. The reason I have given four stars is because the hotel is very poorly signposted we had a nightmare trying to find it in the dark and pouring rain. Apart from this we had a great stay, good to see a hotel being run well, by hard working staff in difficult times for the industry, with recruitment etc. Top Marks!

GGuest UserWe arrived on a late flight from Portugal with a particular room booked which we had done through a third party booking service (queen). The hotel was clearly very busy and we were put into a room with twin double beds. This was not ideal and we asked the receptionist if it was possible to have the room we had booked. She moved us to a much nicer room (same footprint but better layout which meant I could share a bed with my husband!). This was a real 5/5 from us because despite an initial problem the really kind and professional receptionist went out of her way to fix it, and also comped us a couple of drinks which was unexpected and massively appreciated. It has made me much more likely to choose this chain again, knowing that a small hiccup will be dealt with nicely. Great staff. Room was comfortable and well proportioned and I like the fact that the toiletries are in dispensers so less plastic waste! The bar was lovely as well with really nice common areas to relax. Late night bar staff were charming and friendly. Well done Hilton!

GGuest UserGreat location just by Temple Mead Station and a short walk to the 'bright lights of Bristol' Staff are very helpful especially the gentleman behind the front desk who helped us get a taxi on the 'wet' graduation day. Staff at the bar especially the young lady who put in the hours there were very personable and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked. Highly recommend this mid priced hotel

GGuest UserThe hotel was very smart modern and clean. Our room was small but we had booked a standard room. Price was good compared to other hotels locally. The hotel is right next to the harbour and in the middle of a bustling nightlife. We hadn’t considered this when booking. Although the location was great, the noise from outside could be heard so loudly in our room at night. I actually thought a window was open, but it wasn’t. This went on till the early hours, music, shouting etc, so we found it hard to sleep. The bed was very comfortable though and the room spotlessly clean. Tea/coffee facilities were provided in our room, an iron and hairdryer were also there. The bathroom had a good shower, towels were provided. We didn’t dine but I did purchase a drink from the bar. After paying I was told it would be brought over to me. When it was the bartender informed me my card had declined and asked me to pay again. I did, however when I checked my bank later both payments had been paid out. Not very happy about this. Although a nice looking hotel and great price, due to the noise level at night we wouldn’t stay again. If that wouldn’t bother you the hotel would be a great choice.

GGuest UserHave used this hotel many times in the past when seeing a show in the Hippodrome. It’s one of the few hotels in Bristol with a decent car park on site (£12 per day). It’s a 15 minute walk to the Hippodrome and easily do able. Outside the hotel can be found some cafes and a pub. The hotel hasn’t really changed much over the years. The Novotel sign has worn off the front door but otherwise the interior is the same since I visited it a few years ago. The room (114) was at the rear of the hotel, clean, large comfy bed and most importantly it was quiet at night. Pillows were very hard however and a choice of pillow in the room would have been good. I also have to knock a star off because the staff at reception were not the most friendly. No conversation, no mention of belonging to the loyalty club, just all very formal. That’s not a problem if that’s what you like but a little more friendliness/warmth would of been nice. No one asked how our stay was when we left. Otherwise another lovely stay at this hotel.

GGuest UserWe visited Bristol to celebrate my birthday weekend, so we booked a “deluxe” king size room for three nights. On arrival the hotel was very impressive with good car parking facilities and a very classy reception area. Check-in was friendly and efficient. There was just a slight confusion over the late check-out time – the website said 4pm, the receptionist thought it was 3pm. The reception is well attended and they were highly responsive when dealing with an issue with one of the lifts. There was a loud noise inside the lift one evening between floor 4 & 5 (a bit of a worrying sound of metal hitting on metal). It was great to see a lift engineer on-site bright and early the next morning attending to it. The bedroom was very spacious with lots of storage, a very comfortable super-king size bed and a clean bathroom. However, the main problem with the room was how dimly lit it was and the scruffy state of the furniture. It was difficult to see well enough in the room to put make-up on, which meant I had to wait for my partner to finish in the bathroom before I could use the better illuminated bathroom mirror. The dark wooden furniture was badly scuffed and warped; the chair was scruffy with peeling leatherette - surprisingly tired furniture for a Deluxe room. There was a lot of damage to the bathroom door (big dent in the wooden panel), scratches in the sink and broken robe hooks – not exactly deluxe fittings. Also the bathrobes were very small (approx size 14). When we came to pack up to leave we had to get a torch out to check in cupboards etc to make sure we hadn’t left anything behind – it was too dark to see inside the cupboards without a torch even though we had the curtains open and lights on. Unfortunately it was then that we saw just how extremely dusty the room was. The lampshades were very dusty. I doubt the area beneath the desk/dressing table had been vacuumed for months (lots of clumps of dust in the area where you put your feet). We were disturbed by just how much dust we had spent the last three nights sleeping with so, out of curiosity, we moved the bed to check underneath and discovered another very thick build up of dust and a roast potato from a previous guest’s dinner stuck to the carpet. There is an Eco option to not have housekeeping done each day which we welcomed at the time, as it meant we didn’t have to wonder when the cleaner would come in if we wanted to have a lie in. However, if I’d have seen the levels of dust in the room on arrival, then I would have asked for a cleaner to come in and give it all a good vacuuming. Apart from the disappointing dust and shabby furniture we enjoyed our stay because of the extremely comfy bed, excellent breakfast in the delightful Kiln restaurant and on-site car parking. It’s also a good location for visiting the city. But I’d need some reassurance that the housekeeping issues will be attended to before we contemplate a return visit.

AAsmiRuYha as always the best..we booked a 3 person room. The location is besides the harbour just in centre of all the hustle bustle as well as quietness! Only one downside the room that is separate than other dorm rooms is located on the top level. The heater or some pipe kept on making noise when ever the winds were strong or any flight went from above (I guess) Positive side: the room comes with skylight..you are able to see stars and moon on a clear night..thus you can sleep glazing at the stars :)

GGuest UserWe needed to be near the Cathedral for a Graduation ceremony and the Ibis was a 5 minute walk away. Reception on arrival was quick & efficient. The bedroom (320) and bathroom were clean and appeared to have been totally renovated very recently. Everything worked as it should. There was some background noise from the air-con on a nearby building but this did not prove to be a problem for us when the window was closed. A very fullsome buffet breakfast was enjoyed. We took advantage of the secure luggage room after vacating the bedroom. All the staff we encountered were very pleasant, polite and helpful. We parked at the nearby Britannia Car Park (which was clean and well lit) and the Ibis reception processed our parking ticket which resulted in up to 24 hour parking costing £10 instead of £17. Checkout was painless. Would we stay again? Yes - but for only one or two nights.
