Bull Burford

Pleasant staff and definitely an upgrade from Pub food, lovely range of food from the menu which was more diverse than usual and a good range of wines, cozy and comfortable and a lovely setting. Chicken, smoke ham and leek pie was delicious and although the cod with Pistachio crust was very tasty a bigger fillet would of been nice

Went with my wife as a one night getaway and we were very happy with our choice. The Bull is like a hub in Burford where when everywhere else was empty, The Bull was buzzing. The rooms are beautiful, the hotel quirky and stylish, the bar and the cocktails and their whisky selection is very very nice. The restaurant is nice but the food quality could be a bit better. Taste wise they might need to up their game a bit. Also the next morning due to only having one chef (don't know if they always have one chef or only for that day) our breakfast took 45 minutes to come. These things happen but they knew the food would be late so the waiters should've warned us and maybe bring some croissants and coffee just to keep us happy rather keep us waiting and wondering for that long. Other than some growing pains, I'd highly recommend The Bull.

What can I say other than we had the most wonderful 2 night stay in your bedroom hotel, George was just so lovely as were all the staff We had the dinning experience on the Saturday which was really lovely, Fabulous art work and very stylish rooms I honestly love the Cotswolds and we really will be coming back soon I’m super fussy and couldn’t fault anything, The food was really wonderful, Can’t wait to stay again Adele and Rob x

My husband and I had a wonderful 24 hours stay at the Bull. The hotel is gorgeous and very welcoming. The staff are all so friendly but a special mention to Tabitha and James who were so attentive and kept our drinks flowing throughout our stay and also to Callum the Wild’s chef, super talented. If you can get booked into Wild we cannot recommend enough. The food and atmosphere is very special - it’s a dining experience we will remember for a long time.

Booked meal at short notice, very helpful staff. Interesting and varied menu, very nice meal and pleasant bar atmosphere. We liked the pigeon breast and cod fillet. Mainly young and enthusiastic local staff who were very efficient. A good experience.

Went for lunch. Absolutely delicious beyond belief. I had the cod. Great service. superlative food. Very nice atmosphere. Fantastic. Would go again and again if could. Lovely decoration too. Great Grayson Perry work in the dining room of the Horn. Of course the place was full of tourists eating but the Bull can't help that. Lovely lovely place/

Amazing stay - staff were incredibly kind and the hotel was beautiful. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and there were so many different options to choose from for food and activities. The location is amazing - right in the middle of Burford with the countryside right on your doorstep. The staff went out of their way to make it a very memorable weekend.

Had the most amazing stay, can’t wait to stay again. Literally everything was 10/10 from the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out. All the staff are top draw and special shout out to “Anique” whose cocktail knowledge and hosting ability was world class!! X

The Bull had obviously undergone a makeover and looked quite inviting so we decided to lunch there. On entering we had no idea where to go or how to find the restaurant so we ended up following another couple who were heading outside where there was a nice seating area and pizza oven etc. so we decided to find a table. There were no menus on the table so we waited, and waited, and waited to be attended to but sadly just kept being ignored by the very young g staff in attendance. Eventually I managed to catch the attention of a young lad and asked for the menus and he kindly obliged. Once we had decided what we wanted we waited, and waited, and waited for someone to come and take our order. Just as we were about to leave an older lady came over and served us. We ordered 2 pizza’s and drinks. The pizza’s came and they were very nice, freshly cooked, except the pizza my husband had was not the pizza he had ordered, but decided to eat it anyway. We had already decided that we would never go back there with such atrocious waiting staff. It seems that they had spent a lot of money on the makeover and yet employed the cheapest, youngest and inexperienced staff. Nobody likes to be ignored when they are waiting to spend their money!
