Not a 5 star resort. That's not saying it's not a nice resort, because it is, but 5 star resorts have top notch service. First ding, they don't pick you up at the airport, but you can have them set up transportation for you (at your added expense). The Taxi is $75 each way (I checked Uber and it was $55 and the taxi dude matched that price). We were able to catch a travel van on the way there from the airport for $17 a person. We had an "executive suite" which was nice, not their best room but probably in the middle. They never changed the bed sheets in the entire 5 day/4 night stay. They made the bed, but never changed the sheets. They have a well stocked fridge and other goodies for a steep price. The problem is moving their crap out if you actually want to use the refrigerator. We were charged "additional taxes" when we checked out as well. Only like $2-3 a day, but these should have been included in the price. The on-site sushi restaurant was not a good value. They charged us for items we didn't order and watch out for the $4.50 water. Our bill was $200 plus tip for two adults. Each had two margaritas, one appetizer (we had cancled after we told the waiter and he acknowledged, but came anyways) and two entrees. Portions were small, so definitely no "leftovers". The good. The included breakfast is excellent. Take advantage of that, eat a late breakfast (breakfast is over at noon, so be there no later than 11am) and that should tide you over until dinner. The location is great. Close to the marina/downtown but just far enough way that it's an easy walk and you stay out of that busyness. Overall, it's a nice 4 star (at best) resort.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff and good location, although the noise from the Mango Deck can be quite loud. Good restaurants in the hotel itself but also close to many other restaurants. Well equipped room, but although a coffee maker was provided you are only given two coffee pods, no creamer and two small water bottles for your entire stay. Each additional coffee pod was over $3. Housekeeping staff were excellent and they also provide a turn down service. Very good gym. A negative point is that the hotel also provides day passes to cruise ship passengers so things can get quite crowded around the pool and their beach area when a ship is in port.

Had an awesome experience here at Casa Dorada. Everyone was so nice and extremely helpful. The days we spent at the pool Emilio was very attentive to our needs. Can’t forget the awesome service at the cabanas by the beach. Thank you Casa Dorada for the awesome experience.

The food, service, and overall environment is beautiful for breakfast. My wife and I had breakfast here and loved it so much we wanted to write a positive review to share for others looking for suggestions. Tania Gallegos was our server who was super attentive and gave great recommendations. She was bilingual in Spanish and English making it easy to communicate. We had to get Ana Desayaro's name to express how amazing the home made salsas were. Thank you!! We surely will be back!

Girls trip and we loved Jordi! He brought all of his energy for his water aerobics class and the bingo was a hoot! We got a good workout in and had a lot of fun doing it! He went above and beyond during our stay to make our experience at Casa Dorada the BEST!

Emilio, Gabino, Carlos all were very attentive to our needs. We never had to wait for help with umbrellas or towels, They rushed over to us as soon as we stood up. In the morning, our chairs would be set up in the spot we like. Every time one of them would pass by, they would ask if we needed more shade or another umbrella. Every time we come here we are treated like royalty.

The service is AMAZING! First, I must say Jordi really made our trip the most fun on the pool deck. He led a great water aerobics class, and the funnest bingo ever! The service at Casa Dorada is hands down the best. We will absolutely be back! It is true paradise.

We come back to Casa Dorada to enjoy and relax at the pool area. Emilio, one of the pool staff, takes great care to ensure we have everything we need from the chairs to the most important shade. It's pretty amazing how the staff at the hotel remembers us and greats warmly every time.
