This was our second stop after hiking in from Corte via the Scala di Santa Regina (must do). The reviews on former name (Casa Balduine) hold true and I expect the new ownership will amplify the ratings. Napo ( new owner and host) is extremely warm and welcoming; generous with his knowledge to help us improve the final leg of our trip with suggestions of hikes and stays. Our second day had significant rain and we forego all the possible hikes (this is the center for great day hikes) but we were able to fill the time with a super trip to a local distillery. Napo’s family own the Casa and his home is nearby - simply call to set up a time for check in, if it’s outside of hours. The family also make their own charcuterie and so you HAVE to order a board of their home made saucisson and garden produce. Our first meal was on site and complemented by a well stocked fridge of wine and beer; no need to walk to the local grocery store. If you do walk to the Proxi - it’s 10 - 15 minutes. A small number of rooms; a couple of which are configured for families. WiFI strong. Breakfast included and provides everything you need to start the day. A tip for hikers - when coming down off the mountain turn right onto the main road and walk about 750 meters from the stop sign. You simply have to stay here. Un gros merci pour votre accueil chaleureux et vos excellents conseils!
