Mouldy in food in fridge and shower not cleaned. Hotel couldn't change room as fully booked so had to put up with it as nowhere else to go after checking in late at night. Avoid at all costs.

It's ideal for a quick stopover . For the price I paid it's fine there was no coffee available in the Breakfast as the machine wasn't working so that was disappointing but the room was decent and spacious with a good Bathroom and i was on the 9th floor so iou get a good view from out of the window

It seems to be the only high-rise hotel in Cannock. It is very convenient to go shopping and eat at the outlet mall in a few minutes by taxi. The hotel is very quiet and very convenient for business trips.

Given that the room was £45.45, we were not expecting a palace, The hotel looked tired and dated , the room was clean but shabby. Most of the furniture had damaged or missing edging strips. Only at bed time did we notice a bed side cabinet was missing. We visited the bar at the top of the building, when the bar lady pulled a pint it looked cloudy and flat, didn't even try it, and went to the restaurant instead. We ordered two steak pies, they had been warmed up in the microwave so the pastry was soggy. They did offer us a different meal, which we declined. This was the worst bit of the stay £16 each for very sub standard food . Continental breakfast was good. The staff were pleasant enough and helpful. I may stay here again, but would not use the restaurant.

Where do I begin! The good point was the staff are friendly. The bad was the whole building. Room was hot and then air con not working was given a fan which didn’t do much. The fan in the bathroom did not work. Towel rack was rusty sink looked like it had been glued together. Curtains were dirty/mouldy. The carpet has been eaten I think by moths I found a couple of moths around. The door to the room looked like it had been broken at some point. This was a good location for where I wanted to be. The hotel could be amazing from its unusual structure but the whole place needs a big makeover. I actually feel sorry for the staff that work there as it must be complaint after complaint. This does not live up to the holiday inn brand. I would not stay here again

Stayed here for 1 night. To cut a long motorway journey short, checked in at midnight, was given a room on the 3rd floor , opened the door to a really dated, shabby, freezing room… there was Moths in the bed, shower, there was a torn light shade next to the bed, the bed was grubby , toilet seat was not fixed on the toilet securly, the door lock was broken, and did’t lock properly and we had to shove our suitcase against it to feel secure Really shocked at the state of the room, would never stay again but staff seemed great !

How nice to be welcomed by efficient smiling desk staff. Nothing was any trouble, and a minor glitch with the door not locking properly was fixed immediately. Bright lighting, good connectivity to wi-fi and several easily accesible power points, lots of hot water and a good shower. Easy parking a bonus. The chef and kitchen staff also went out of their way to please. In all a very pleasant stay. Good value for money. The ground floor bar is open but not the one on the 12th floor. Thank you all. Note to management… The 12 floor bar being closed should be mentioned on the website as is the gym.

This is the HI you see from the end of the M6 Toll, and until you've stayed here, you'd think it would be really good as it stands out on the horizon and located, seemingly near a retail park. Access to the hotel is via a windy set of streets in a rundown housing estate, and the hotel is situated away from the retail park, i.e. not walkable. Parking is free and signs are a little confusing about where you can and can't park. Hotel has 9-10 floors and are old and tired. The lighting is depressing and dark in places. Shower was tired and falling of the tiles. TV on the side of the room so not able to sit square on to watch. Have to look left from the bed to the table. Heating on the wall did not work and they'd left a 3Kw heater in the room in case of need. Given the british summer it was put on as the room was cold. Restaurant a very tired and depressing area, and not somewhere you want to spend a lot of time in. Ordered some food which was wrong and nuked to an inch of its' life. I had a difference of opinion with the check in staff/manager on breakfast. As a Diamond Elite member, breakfast should be complimentary. Not here, it's £16 take it or leave it. We left it! This is certainly not going to be visited by me again, and that's sad as I am in The Midlands from time to time. Next time, I'll venture over to Walsall and Wolverhampton where the HI's there are a lot better maintained and the staff actually seem to want you to enjoy your stay and come back. Two stars not one as I did sleep and parking was free. Other than that nothing else positive to add.

I stay at this hotel frequently for business trips, and Roxy at reception always makes me feel incredibly welcome. She is consistently well-mannered, greets everyone with a warm smile, and ensures that any issues are resolved quickly and efficiently. Her excellent service truly enhances my stay every time. Highly recommended! 10/10

The Hotel is very dated and in need of a ALOT of TLC. On arrival, we checked the room first, and had to ask for the bed linen to be changed at it was dirty on both beds and all pillows. The room furniture was very 1980s with veneer missing, corners not matching etc. The room was very dusty, and attempts to update the room, (TVs Mirtors etc), had left the wall with slit of marks. Now everyone is different, we had a main double bed, and a sofa bed for the kids. The main double rooked inwards, great if your a couple looking to have some “adult time”, but not great if you need to sleep. The Sofa bed was Rock hard at one end, and non existent at the other end: the mattress didn’t fit the frame. The noise from the doors all around was troublesome. Banging all night.

Friendly staff , really good size clean bedroom. But would agree that this hotel has been neglected somewhat. Towel rail in the bathroom was really rusty and the bar on the 12th floor could do with some attention. Really bright lights and banging music with only my wife and I in there

The fact another local Holiday Inn thought this one was closed down says it all. Terrible receptionist. Room must have been 30 degrees. No AC and toilet didn’t flush. Stains on sheets. They said they would fix issues but didn’t. 2 night stay. 2nd night they denied there were issues. I checked out after the first night and moved to another Holiday Inn as they Refused to give alternative room or refund. The other Holiday Inn contacted them after I explained the issue. They thought it was closed down. The receptionist lied to them and said they didn’t realise I had checked out. Eventhough 20mins prior we had a conversation about me wanting an email that they had contacted their manager as they said they couldn’t provide refund because they were new and there was no manager. They also said they didn’t know how to print out anything for me after they had just printed a reservation for someone checking in infront of me. The girl behind the desk with the glasses should be sacked for how bad she deals with customers

I was staying at this hotel for two nights for work, the rooms are clean and tidy. I had the most horrendous experience with the restaurant staff over both evenings. 1 evening she starting sweeping around my table and others whilst I was eating, the proceeded to take plates away before I had even finished. Night two had a delay getting g back so reached the hotel at 8.40pm to be greeted with “ go in then we can just about squeeze you in but you will have to be quick” she then proceed to sit at the back of me whilst I was eating and as soon as I finished my meal she was up clearing the plates. I was informed on my arrival that you could get a table up to 9pm. Real fast is diabolical the food is dry poor selection. It’s a shame because it’s a great location

Possibly the worst hotel I’ve stayed in for a long time. Almost everything is broken, rusty, dirty or out of action completely. The 12 floor restaurant was closed during my visit but the ground floor food was appalling. Wine was ridiculously expensive. The staff were amazing (and seemed quietly aware of the problems). The rooms are kept as clean as possible, but you can’t polish a turd! AVOID!
