Our stay at Babylonstoren was top-notch from start to finish. There aren’t many places we’ve stayed that truly took our breath away, but this place is something else. We were fortunate enough to stay here during our honeymoon, and the property itself was first class. The accommodation had everything you could ever want during a cold winter storm: heated floors throughout, a fully stocked kitchen for cozy nights in, a huge bed with hot water bottles during turn down, and of course, the open fire in the lounge area. The attention to detail, often overlooked by many properties, was the guiding star at Babylonstoren. To list all the positives, we would honestly be here all day. The food and hospitality were 10/10 overall. Breakfast each day was the best we’ve ever had, featuring a huge spread of local produce with cooked options to order. The on-site dining at the two restaurants was also top quality. Finally, the experiences included within our stay added to the great value. We participated in bread making and wine tasting, and also enjoyed treatments at the five-star spa. Overall, we would recommend this to anyone and will definitely be coming back again in the future. Unbelievable hotel and farm. We stayed here for a couple of nights in May to close out our honeymoon. It was definitely romantic. The farm cottages are so comfortable and have killer views, but you won't even spend that much time inside honestly since there's so much stuff to see and taste around the farm and it's easy to get around with the complementary bikes and golf carts. Only suggestion is to book your spa appointments well in advance--I guess it's very popular and they were fully booked when we contacted them about 7 days before arrival.

Fantastische Anlage, fantastisches Essen, fantastisches Personal - alles super. Wirklich ein Erlebnis für die ganze Familie. Buchen und geniessen!! Wir waren drei Tage / Nächte und haben jeden Tag genossen, der Garten ist alleine schon ein Highlight.

We had a most gourmet dinner at Babel Restaurant in Babylonstoren in Franschoek - Cape Town - South Africa. The entire food experience and wine pairing was exquisite and excellent price / quality. We were further enchanted by the friendly, charming and knowledgeable reception from our host Muranda. Muranda pampered us and ensured we had a memorable experience. Definitely a Memory we will treasure and go back to!

Best gourmet experience in South Africa! Babel Restaurant is fabulous and our hostess, Muranda, made everything beyond our expectations. Her knowledge of the menu and attention to details was superb. Highly recommended place! We would love to return!

Spectacular setting! What a treat to stay at such a beautiful vineyard. I highly recommend the cellar wine pairing! It is not only delicious, but I learned a great deal! Not only do I recommend the hotel, but the wines as well! I also went biking around the property, had a wonderful massage, went fly fishing and saw them milking the water buffalo. I wish I had more time to just sit by their beautiful pool. The gardens are spectacular and I strongly recommend taking many walks through them. Our room was spacious and I loved having our own little pool and very funky hot tub for only a few rooms. It made it more intimate.

Over the past six years we have traveled to Franschoek four times and loved the excellent dining options in the area, but I have to say Babylonstorens Babel is our favorite. Reservations are essential especially on weekends. We prefer going for lunch because it’s nice to walk the beautiful grounds and check out the shops. We had lunch on a busy Sunday and started with different fresh breads and a variety of spreads. We shared a beetroot salad with halloumi cheese that was great. My husband’s lamb was cooked to perfection and my sea bass was delicious. In addition to the fantastic food, what sets Babel apart is the service. Our server was attentive and informative but not at all intrusive. The manager even stopped by to ask how our experience was and asked me to “be honest “. We responded that everything was excellent. I suppose the only thing that could be improved would be if Babel opened a location in our town so we don’t have to travel nearly halfway across the world. After lunch my husband had the opportunity to pet the three friendly donkeys at the farm. Babel will always be on our list when we visit Franschoek.

This was our first vineyard on the wine tram. Really beautiful place with wonderful gardens to walk round. First we did some wine tasting. We asked for bread but they only did platters which were substantial but we managed to get through most of it whilst tasting 10 wines - whites and reads. We liked the fizz, the Rose and the Reds over the whites. The ‘tasting’ glasses were quite a substantial amount - we’re so used to the tiny portions in the UK!

Fantastic Wine Farm to visit. Highly recommend the platters to accompany wine tasting in the restaurant. We visited as part of the Orange Line tour by the Franschhoek Wine Tram. Wine is superb and tasting experience very professional but friendly
