Hotel Caesar Augustus

Anacapri|1.54km from Mount Solaro
We celebrated a big birthday and our anniversary at the Caesar Augustus and it was amazing in every way. Amazing history, room, views, cuisine, and staff. During our initial tour of the property we we greeted by the owner’s son and General Manager, Francesco, who said, “If I were visiting your home you would, of course, want me to feel relaxed and at home. This is my home and I want you to let me know personally if there’s anything I can do to make your stay more relaxing or make you feel more at home.” He and his parents live on the property and their love of the hotel, Capri, and their highly-capable staff. We asked the hotel to recommend transportation from Napoli Centrale. We booked their package which included a Mercedes from the train station, the 45-minute hydrofoil ferry to Capri, luggage assistance at the pier, and a car from Capri Port to the hotel. The hotel also provided a car and luggage assistance upon our departure via ferry. My wife booked a very nice “So Chic, So Capri” package that included a welcome cocktail, room upgrade, a fantastic breakfast buffet every morning, a four-hour private boat circumnavigation of the island, and a pair of custom-fitted sandals from Capri Chic in Anacapri. Our boat captain, Nello, was simply amazing, showing us every special spot and hidden grotto on the island. We saw a lot of Anacapri and spent some time on the hotel’s gorgeous terrace overlooking the Bay of Naples. We ended each evening there as well. The bar manager, Donato, and his staff took very good care of us. We will return for an extended stay.

Luxury Villa Excelsior

Capri|1.68km from Mount Solaro
Amazing hotel. We stay in a lot of hotels around the world, and this has to be one of the most outstanding, service wise we have ever stayed in. Nothing was too much trouble. But it is the little things that make the Parco stand out. The staff never once asked for our room number etc, they knew it. We were always greeted by name and every time we arrived back at the hotel, someone would come out to greet us. The level of care and customer service, always offering a bottle of water as we left the hotel, advice on things to do, arranging tours, ferry, restaurant bookings, help etc. On top of the staff, the amenities were lovely, presented in a beautiful box, more of the extra touches that make the difference. There was no extra charges for a 6 am coffee, delivering breakfast to your room, water bottles etc. Leaving this hotel was like sadly saying goodbye to family. We just loved it and are already planning on travelling back next year from Australia. The only negative if I had to say one is the location is not ideal, situated half way between main ferry port and hilltop town of Capri, but with car on hand 24/7 to drive you anywhere, and the rest of the amazing positives about the hotel, this is by no means an issue, just something to keep in mind if you look past this hotel because of where it is situated. A very special thanks to the lovely Gabby who went above and beyond to make our stay special and Buddika for being our personal chauffeur around the island, as well as the rest of the team at the Excelsior Parco - Gaia and Stefano.

Hotel Weber Ambassador

This family run hotel, is the best hotel in Capri. Here are are the best reasons to stay here: A: Nicola, the manager. Is one of the warmest and kindest people you will ever meet. There is nothing impossible for him. He should teach a class on how to do hospitality correctly. He helped us out with lost phones, mixed up luggages, reservations at beach clubs and so much more. B: the location of this hotel is unbeatable. Overlooking Marina Piccolo, the yachts and Faraglioni. There are complimentary shuttles to the town and to the port. Also since they are accecible by their own shuttle, porter service isn’t necessary. C: the pool and the food - to have a nice pool to cool off to was a blessing. The breakfast buffet on the balcony was amazing was was the lunch menu by the pool. A few areas of improvement: A: the rooms are bare and could use an upgrade. We were not expecting luxury, but some basics amenities and decorations would help warm up the rooms. For example a separate shampoo, conditioner and body was instead of just a body wash B: being that it’s family run, there were staff members that I assume were family that were unhelpful such as the cranky uncle at the pool and the young lady at the reception who kept giving us a no answers to everything. We will be back soon. We loved our stay here

La Residenza Capri

We just spent a dreamy romantic weekend on Capri, made all the more special by the spectacular staff of La Residenza. From the moment we stepped on the island, we felt pampered. Nicola was there to meet us at the port with funicular tickets and luggage portage...we didn't have to deal with our bags again until we left via ferry two days later. The hotel is just steps from the funicular arrival--you walk through the Piazzetta and past the boutiques and you're already there. The reception was incredibly welcoming and helpful; we were in our room and enjoying the view within minutes. We regrouped over lunch at the hotel with a pool view, then Giuseppe at the concierge desk arranged Vespa scooters for us to explore on our own plus gave us pointers for sightseeing, cocktails with a view, and the best dinner spots (we were there at the end of October, so many restaurants were already closed for the season). I especially loved the table service breakfast (I hate buffet breakfast) overlooking the pool and room service from 4 pm to midnight, ideal for an afternoon snack on our patio overlooking the sea. Enzo at the restaurant and bar was always very attentive and the entire dining room staff made it a pleasure to eat in. The room was fabulously quiet, with complete black-out shutters and a luxe mattress so we had a great night's sleep. The bathroom is huge with a walk-in shower and double sinks, plus a walk-in closet/changing room so we had plenty of room to spread out. The high point is the balcony...amazing views and no street noise at all. The next morning, Giuseppe managed to book us a last-minute private boat tour around the island since the weather was so gorgeous. We left our bags at the hotel and the porter service met us right at the ferry jetty as we boarded in the afternoon so we didn't have to worry about lugging them around all day. We had such a relaxing, stress-free stay thanks to La Residenza and can't wait to be back!

We went for the terrace restaurant for a lunch. We ordered our drinks and sharing appetiser to start, this was a mixture of rice and mozzarella arancini, dough balls, fried penne balls and zucchini (all vegetarian in both Italian and English translations on the menu). After this came we began eating, after having almost a full large fried pasta ball I noticed ham in the pasta inside the ball, my boyfriend opened the rest (including the one on my plate) and all these had ham inside - disclaimer I have been a vegetarian for 7 years and I have never eaten pork. My boyfriend told the host and the waiter and we were told it was on the menu so we asked for a copy of this, to which he read that is was not on the English translation. Then they said it was only one the Italian (the meat) however I translated the Italian section and again there was no mention of pork in the dish. I was given no apology at all from the restaurant and made to feel it was my fault they did not disclaim on their menu the ‘vegetarian’ dish contained pork. I was offered a small caprese salad as substitute for an apology (and substitute for taking away the dish). I declined numerous times for this salad as I felt sick from eating pork and still had my main coming. After the waitress asked 3-4 times if they can bring the salad I accepted. The main dishes were disappointing, at the end of the meal an aperol spritz - we hadn’t ordered - was put on our table, left for around 10 minutes then taken straight to the table behind us (from ours) as they made a mistake with the order, which seemed incredibly unhygienic. At the end of the meal the bill was incredibly high for the level of service given and food received. I will be taking this complaint further with the evidence I have as this is the first time I have ever experienced this breach of contract in the food industry and lack of apology after the action was done.
Hotel Della Piccola Marina

Great value nice big room, the best is that the hotel is not a big walk up and down the hill so to walk to town is easy. Strategically positioned within 8 mins of Prada lol but seriously. Total peace total quite. The pool is positioned perfect to give you option of sun and shade. The people working the pool did a great job allowing kids to play but not to the point it became annoying for My wife and I yo enjoy our adult trip. Hotel was a great value. I would take the sky team to the top and walk to hotel to save €50. I did an hour walk each morning while the city was still sleeping which was amazing! All the little wiring roads with so much to explore. The hotel staff worked as a team and always accommodating to any need. The person that look after the bar worked many hours always with a smile ready to greet me with a pink adult beverage to take the edge off. The price was right too!

The welcome and services were top notch whether upon our arrival, at breakfast time or upon departure.
