Good hotels are very hard to come by in Java so this should be borne in mind when reading this review. This hotel looks amazing from the outside with its wonderful reception area and incredible pool. But that's where it ends. It started well with a great greeting at reception where they were waiting to check us in. We asked about what time the restaurant was open (that being one of the main reasons we booked) only to be told it was closed. Looking at it later, it looked like it had not been open for some time. We were escorted to our rooms out the back. They presented well form the outside but one inside it became obvious they were average. Mould was present on the ceilings and curtains. The air-conditioner dripped water onto my suitcase all night and the bathroom was mouldy with loose tiles. There is no in-room fridge but bottled water was provided. Shower did not have hot water, only very lukewarm after running for 5 minutes. This was disappointing. The biggest issue for me was that room was full of mosquitoes. So much so that after 10 days in Java, this was the only night I had to use my mosquito net in order to sleep and avoid disease. I did go to reception several times to ask for spray but it was never attended from when we checked in until when we checked out the next day at 12. Noise from the busy road outside is an issue with constant traffic noise, beeping and loud music coming under the large gap in the door. Probably one of the best options in Carita but a 3 star hotel at best.
