Hotel Casa San Agustin

We were enchanted by this hotel from the moment we walked through the iron gates. Our suite was large with a private balcony nestled in the trees. We were welcomed with many special touches--small gifts, a fruit basket, hand-written notes, and luxurious toiletries. In addition to the large rooms, the amenities, and the calm, relaxing ambiance, the staff, from Edgar and Nelson at the front entrance to all the people at the front desk--David, Dagmar, Leyla, Paola, and Cindy, plus Bryan at breakfast--are what truly make this hotel. All were attentive and caring. They are truly outstanding and go out of their way to may sure you have a good visit. The morning of our departure there was a marathon in town and taxis could not come near the hotel, but Edgar went above and beyond to wheel our luggage to the place where we could get a taxi. Breakfast was extremely generous with many choices from the menu and additional baked good, fruits, cereals, and yogurt to choose from. The spa is clean and serene and offers a range of treatments and generous hours. We enjoyed our treatments so much we returned a second time during our week. Katerine is gracious and efficient when she greets you and schedules appointments. Arelis and Yesenia give outstanding massages and scrubs. We had a few small glitches in the room, but they were attended to immediately. Our only criticism is that lighting is limited. We were given an extra lamp which was a big help, but the bathroom is still under lit. Nevertheless, this is a very special hotel. Thank you to everyone.

Highly recommend this hotel. Very clean, English speaking staff, accommodations were beautiful, pool was delightful, food delicious. Staff was attentive and responsive. Breakfast was part buffet and menu items. Hotel made us a delicious take away lunch for our flight home, delicious and very helpful. Make reservations for Alma dinner. This is a highly sought after restaurant. Great location in Cartagena.

We decided to spend our anniversary here at Hotel Casa San Agustin instead of our usual destination in Palm Beach. What a magical place! David, the concierge and the others at the front desk were wonderful, booking delicious restaurants, giving us a lovely suite and making sure we were pampered. The charming biblioteca on the third floor featured a tea at 5pm complete with delicious goodies , tea and spirits. Our daily breakfast was absolutely sumptuous including fresh juices, an exotic fruit plate and a warm basket of pastries followed by a choice of both “ healthy” and other breakfast items. Our suite on two levels had a charming sitting area, Frette linens and rain shower and an upstairs with twin beds and another bathroom. The outdoor pool nestled between the courtyard was a relaxing spot for a swim or snooze on the lounge chairs. The historic nature of this boutique hotel with beautiful furnishings, leafy courtyards and welcoming hospitality made for a very special get away. One last note, the food and service at the hotel restaurant Alma was outstanding. We can’t wait to come back!

This is my second stay at Casa San Augustin (I now describe it as my happy place :) The care from all staff is incredible, but people like Edgar bring you water while you wait for your taxi and give you amazing recommendations and people like Tammy pack you delicious fruit before going to your beach trip because you missed breakfast. This is on top of some of the most beautiful art and architecture I have ever seen in a hotel! The rooms, including the bathroom are equally gorgeous. The day trip to their private beach in Baru is amazing and well-worth it. Alma bar/restaurant provides excellent food, especially the Colombian dishes that they have nicely demarked in the menu.

A true 5 star experience. The service, security, and cleanliness were unparalleled. Make sure you don't miss the hotel's breakfast at 'Alma'. Ask for David the concierge- he and his staff (Edgar and Nelson) will take great care of you. A truly luxurious experience! Thank you again!

My stay at Casa San Agustin was exemplary in every sense. The hotel is perfectly located in the middle of the Old City. The staff was outstanding and took excellent care of me. Even before I arrived the Concierge Staff were very responsive and helpful in planning my stay. During my stay they were helpful with all my tours, restaurants and other items that I wanted to do. I highly recommend the Suite de Virrey (spacious and beautiful). The bartending staff were engaging and very fun to chat with. The food at Alma (the hotel restaurant) was outstanding for breakfast and dinner. Again, the staff greeted me by name every day and could not do enough for me. The Spa was also fantastic- terrific treatments and great staff. I would strongly recommend this hotel and look forward to coming back again.
