We just returned home from Italy and we had a fabulous time! Hotel San Mauro is a beautiful hotel in a quiet neighbourhood where you could visit a small bakery, pizza store, restaurant, along with a supermarket, where you could buy alcohol, and any other snacks/drinks for a reasonable price. All within a 5-10 minute walk. The hotel has a great buffet breakfast for the entire family every morning from 7-10 am. It also has a nice swimming pool that was wonderful to go into after our day trips in the hot sun. We only wished that it didn't close at 6 pm. The hotel was about 30 minutes away from down town Naples by bus. The hotel provided a free shuttle to the local Volla bus station any time we needed it. The drivers were wonderful! From Volla station our family did various day trips, such as to Naples, Capri, Sorrento, and Pompeii. Sorrento and Pompeii required a train as well. The staff was very accommodating and very friendly. The taxi to and from the airport was 45 Euros, which was a bit on the expensive side, given that the airport was only 10 minutes away. Overall, we had an amazing experience visiting Italy, while using the hotel as our home base! Thank you to everyone at the hotel 😊

Ohne Auto würde ich die Unterkunft nicht buchen, da sehr abgelegen. Am zweiten Tag als wir vom Frühstück zurückgekommen sind stand unsere Zimmertür zur Gänze offen. Die Reinigungsdamen meinten nicht im Zimmer gewesen zu sein. Mir konnte keiner sagen, wie es dazu gekommen ist. Zum Glück hat nichts gefehlt. Der Herr beim Frühstück war leider sehr unfreundlich. Wir wollten als Gruppe zusammensitzen, er war nicht bereit die Tische zusammenzustellen. Das fehlende am Frühstücksbuffet wurde erst nach Aufforderung aufgefüllt, obwohl er mehrmals daran vorbeilief.

The hotel was decent. It’s not nearly as nice as it looks in the pictures, but it looks like most of it (except the carpets) has been updated recently enough. There was no coffee in the room. There was a hair dryer. The mattresses and pillows were very thin, but we all slept comfortably anyway. The staff were very helpful. Our room had a nice view of Vesuvius. The neighborhood was not great as far as we could tell.

Cuscini sottili come un foglio. Il phon non funzionava, così come la finestra (mi è letteralmente rimasta in mano la maniglia). Aria condizionata rumorosa e telecomando della tv comparso solo l’ultimo giorno. La cucina lasciava il tempo che trovava e pure il bar. Per il resto struttura attrezzata con molte sale per conferenze e munita di campo da tennis, palestra e spa

Se dovessi ritornare in zona Napoli di sicuro alloggerei presso hotel San Mauro. Ottimo il servizio, personale gentile e pronto a soddisfare ogni richiesta. Camere pulite. Bagno spazioso. Vista del Vesuvio dalla camera. Buffet abbondante con una vasta varietà tra dolce, salato, affettati, frutta e latticini.

Ci sono stato con la mia famiglia (moglie e bambina di 4 anni), 3 giorni. La struttura si presenta datata, pulizia buona anche se sotto i letti c’era molta polvere. Nelle camere e nei corridoi c’è moquette che non e’ il massimo. Il ristorante dell’albergo quando manca il maitre (Enzo/Ezio, mi sembra si chiami) sono persi. A pranzo ho chiesto una tagliata con rucola, pomodorini e scaglie di parmigiano, che ho rimandato indietro perché non si mangiava, mi hanno detto: ci scusi ma quando manca lo chef, il ragazzo ci prova ma non riesce…. Per di più me l’hanno fatto anche pagare. La cosa positiva il parcheggio privato. Scendo spesso a Napoli ma non credo tornerò qui.
