"Our room had a direct view of the 'Golden Mountain in the Morning Sun,' and there's a small balcony right outside where it was lovely to sit, soak up the sun, and enjoy the scenery. It's about a 45-minute drive from the high-speed train station, and Baisha Ancient Town is just an 8-10 minute walk away. In the evenings, there are plenty of food delivery options, so everything was very convenient. The guesthouse also has a very cute Samoyed named 'Sanjin' who isn't afraid of people at all. We stayed for two days, and every morning and evening, we'd play with him for a bit before heading back to our room. 😹 If I come back to Lijiang, I'll definitely choose to stay here again!"

"Hotel located exactly at dukezong city with the windows overlooking songzanlin monestary. Owner is knowledgeable and accommodating. Really nice guy. He speaks really good English! Told us he used to teach English, a tour guide and also experienced photographer~. He show us comparison of 18 years ago dukezong from his photo album and current dukezong. Told us story how Shangrila name come about. We chats about his cats, one particular kitten named Puma is very naughty. Enjoyed being in his lobby where he set up the fireplace and the cats getting heat there. At lobby there's peanut and walnut on the table, we able to enjoy them while chit chatting. I really enjoyed being in this boutique hotel. All his staff can speak simple English too~ The bed is warm and toasty. I feel it's a blessing when we check in, it was snowing lightly as well. I can see owner have great personality and an animal lover. If I ever visit Shangrila I will surely extend my stay in this hotel; just to have story time with the owner. ❤️"

"Passing through Lijiang, I chose the Hilton Lijiang among many hotels, and honestly, here's my brief experience: First, upon arrival, the bellhop immediately helped with my luggage and took it to the front desk for check-in. The front desk staff was very efficient and did a great job explaining the hotel's dining options and local tour routes. The room was similar to other Hilton hotels, the only difference being that the rooms here are much larger than other Hiltons; even the king-sized bed rooms are 50-55 square meters, which feels incredibly spacious! On the floor, I encountered the housekeeping staff who were all smiles and greeted me warmly. I happened to catch the Saturday buffet, which maintained international standards, offering everything imaginable, including many local Yunnan specialties. The hotel's surroundings are lovely; Wenbi Lake is perfect for running and walking. The 'Lijiang Eternal Love' show was much better than the 'Eternal Love' shows in other places! It was a great travel experience, highly recommended!"

"I have to give a huge shout-out to this place; it was absolutely worth every penny! It's truly rare for a guesthouse to invest so much in its amenities – usually, I only find this level of quality in five-star hotels. Take the toiletries, for example; you can tell they're genuinely aiming for a high-end experience, and it feels incredibly worth it [666]. Whether it's the bath towels or the toothpaste and toothbrushes, compared to other guesthouses I've stayed in where the towels were thin and small and the toothbrushes were stiff and hard to use, and floss was almost never provided – some didn't even have razors – this place had absolutely everything I needed! 😂 Spot on, the experience was fantastic. Environment: Pulling back the curtains reveals stunning views of the sunlit mountain peaks, as shown in the picture."

"Due to itinerary changes, I repeatedly booked and canceled my stay at this B&B. Thankfully, they offered free cancellation, which was very accommodating. My friend checked in before me and still recommended this place, and it certainly didn't disappoint. The overall design and style of the hotel are more upscale than most guesthouses in the ancient town. Since it was the off-season and there were vacancies, they even upgraded our room, which was a nice touch! The upgraded room was very spacious and clean, and since it's a new establishment, the facilities are still brand new. You can even see the snow-capped mountains from the room, and for those rooms without a view, you can go to the second-floor terrace – perfect for those who don't feel like hiking up the mountains! Overall, I'm extremely satisfied and highly recommend staying here! The owner is great, and so are the front desk staff!"

"This was the second guesthouse I stayed at in Baisha, and it offered fantastic value for money by comparison! The actual room was much more impressive than it appeared online. I heard room 208 is the only one with an indoor hot tub, so no worries about the cold in winter. However, it takes an hour to fill the tub completely, so I only filled it a third of the way for a quick soak. The room also had a fireplace, and the butler came to light it for me. Sitting in a comfy recliner by the fire, then taking a bath—that's an unparalleled feeling! The room faced the snow-capped mountains directly. I woke up in the morning and immediately set my phone to time-lapse; the 'golden mountain' sunrise shots were absolutely stunning! Furthermore, the mini-fridge in the room was well-stocked with Evian water, beverages, and snacks. The Dyson hairdryer and humidifier added a touch of luxury. They even provided a women's toiletries bag with a thoughtful array of essentials. It was a bit chilly eating in the lobby during winter, but you can opt for breakfast delivered to your room. This was the only guesthouse/hotel on my entire Yunnan trip that offered in-room dining, which deserves a big thumbs up! The butler service was excellent, with prompt pick-up and drop-off. The room rate included a barbecue dinner; while not a huge variety, it was more than enough to fill up. There was also a bonfire party in the evening, where we danced with local ethnic minority villagers—perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle and get rid of that 'workday' feeling."

"The hotel's location is very close to Yulong Snow Mountain, and it's also convenient to get to Baisha Ancient Town. From the fourth-floor observation deck, you can see the 'Golden Mountain bathed in sunlight'. The environment is beautiful, and the service is warm and thoughtful. They even upgraded our room for free! Due to a change in my travel plans, I extended my stay for another night. The room was quiet and comfortable, and the owner even recommended a great sunset viewing spot. The breakfast and the complimentary sweet soup in the evening were excellent, and the fruit was delicious too. 😍😍"

"The room on the third floor offers a fantastic view, perfect for stunning sunrise photos without even leaving the room – a dream for those who like to sleep in, haha. It was super convenient for visiting Blue Moon Valley and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain after a good night's rest. I woke up late for breakfast, but the owner and the kind auntie were incredibly thoughtful and made a special breakfast just for me: rice noodles, congee, eggs, local specialty dishes, and milk. It was so rich and beautifully presented, and delicious too! I totally forgot to take a picture though."

"Out of my entire Yunnan trip, the four nights I spent in Lijiang were the most satisfying. For less than 300 a night, I got a guesthouse that exceeded all expectations (though it was off-season pricing). Our room was on the top floor, the third floor, with floor-to-ceiling windows. Drawing back the curtains offered a direct view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and we got to see the 'Golden Mountain in the Morning Sun' phenomenon. The hygiene was excellent; no hairs on the bed or floor, very clean. All the amenities were basically new and well-suited to guests' habits. No mosquitoes or insects. The bathrobes were very warm, a big plus. The host was incredibly nice. They added me on WeChat and were always responsive and quick to reply. They even provided us with complimentary pickup and drop-off services (from the airport to the guesthouse, and from the guesthouse to the high-speed rail station, both arranged by the host). This place is definitely the most satisfying accommodation I've ever stayed in."
