Find the Cheap Tias Hotels

I stayed nine nights at SENTIDO Æquora Lanzarote Suites with my husband, our three children (ages 16, 14, and 8), my sister's family (including her children, ages 2 and 1), and our dad. We usually opt for all-inclusive stays in Playa de Los Pocillos annually but have never visited this hotel. We were assigned three junior suites: two on the ground floor near the splash pool and one on the first floor (18 steps up) for my elderly dad and son. I would rate this hotel three out of five stars. This review provides an honest account of our experience. Check-in Experience When we arrived at 8 pm, there was only one staff member at the front desk handling check-ins, so we had to wait in line. The lobby was impeccably clean, bright, and welcoming. The staff member was polite but distracted, frequently interrupted by phone calls and colleagues needing assistance. Soledad, his boss, intervened several times and seemed dissatisfied with his performance. At one point, he disappeared into the back office for over 5 minutes, disappointing after a long day of travelling. Overall, the check-in experience was not very welcoming, and we were underwhelmed when we finally reached our rooms. Room Quality The rooms were excellent—extremely spacious and perfect for our family. The beds were comfortable, and daily housekeeper service was available. At check-in, we could opt for less frequent housekeeper service if desired. Free Wi-Fi was available in all rooms. However, the air conditioning was not enormously powerful, and the room could have been cooler. I have experienced better air conditioning in other hotels. The room had two sleeping areas, ideal for giving our older son his space. The main downside was the communal open bathroom area, which offered no privacy for toilet use or showers. I had to ask my son to leave the room while showering since dressing had to happen in the open. While we managed, the lack of privacy in the bathroom would not be suitable for travelling with friends or children's friends. It was an unusual setup I had never encountered in a hotel. Customer Service The animation staff at the hotel were exceptional. They tirelessly provided entertainment from early morning until late evening. Our children thoroughly enjoyed the kid’s club and especially loved the mini disco. Enes, who ran the kid’s club, was fantastic. He went above and beyond to ensure all the children had a wonderful time. We are grateful for his efforts and the enjoyable experience he created for our kids. Sadly, the remaining staff significantly impacted my rating of this resort. The rudest staff I have encountered in all my years of travelling. No staff member stood out for their friendliness or effort to enhance our experience. Many were rude and diminished our experience. The resort's size affected the staff, making guests a low priority. Great family apartments, very clean thanks to the lovely ladies who work there and who will also do a full bag of washing for €5. There's no air con but fans are free from reception. Quiet and safe resort within 10 minutes walk of the main *****. There's also a lidl about 15 minutes walk away and only €4 back in a taxi. There are a few smaller supermarkets close by too. A few recommendations for restaurants in puerto del carmen, Sebastyans is an authentic Greek restaurant past lani's. Amazing food, incredible views and reasonably priced, definitely worth a visit. Also Port O Mar opposite the steps to the beach is reasonably priced and the guys are very welcoming and great with the kids. If you want to just stop for a beer then el kioska is in a nice wee spot, and a large beer is only €1.80 Overall Tisalaya are great family apartments in a good location and very clean.

My daughter and I spent a great week at Hipotels La Geria. The Hotel is attractive and has a beautiful pool. It is in a good location, just across the road from a huge sandy beach and only a few minutes walk to bars, restaurants and local shops. Puerto del Carmen centre is only a short bus ride away, too, if you want more. The Hotel itself was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was also clean and comfortable, with a good size bathroom, plenty of wardrobe space, fridge and a free to use safe. We were half board and found a huge choice of food available for both breakfast and dinner. We arrived late in the evening on our first day and although the restaurant was closed, they had put some cold meats, cheese and fruit out for us to eat, which was a welcome sight! We were warned that they were doing some building work on the Spa during the day, which is located near the pool but we weren't bothered by any noise or dust etc. when we used the pool. All in all, a lovely stay and we would definitely go back.

*Long Review* We have recently returned back from an 11 night stay at the Riu Paraiso Lanzarote and had a really lovely time and would recommend the hotel to others. Overall the hotel has mostly positives and everything that is critical to a positive holiday, is there. The hotel is spotless, room cleaning fantastic and buffet restaurant was extremely clean. The staff are all great! From the reception team who were incredibly helpful, the restaurant staff, to the lifeguard and entertainment reps and the behind the scenes staff, cleaners & maintenance - nothing was ever too much trouble and all would say good morning to guests as they passed. Shout out to Rodrigo (entertainment team) who was exceptional at Aqua Zumba/Dance in the afternoons. ('Magic Mike' needs some new lines, he said the same thing everyday when introducing himself, could almost recite it ourselves 😄) The hotel is located in a great spot opposite a huge beach and shops a couple of minutes walk in either direction out of the hotel. The food choice - I thought overall this was fantastic... If you did not want to eat the same thing twice you had plenty of choice. I.e. Eggs at breakfast served in (7?) different ways. Things we felt could 'enhance' the hotel and this may be because we've been really lucky to visit a couple of Riu's 5 star resorts and are comparing them... The hotel was originally 2 separate hotels brought by the company, the 'quiet' side of the hotel has no restaurants (minus the snack bar) and no real 'life' to it (outside of the pool area). We walked into this area to visit the shop and felt it was such a waste of space not to have even a piano bar or perhaps speciality steak restaurant just to help the crowds at the other part of the hotel in the evening. The X2 bookable restaurants we were hoping would have been table service, but these were buffet again - the food was good but they didn't feel 'special' in a way other Riu's have table service restaurants. The evening entertainment - not many 'professional acts' - the entertainment team work incredibly hard but there is only so many times you can see them perform similar dances / acts in different costumes. Snack bars - repetitive choice and no space (other than smoking areas) to sit and eat from the snack bar otherwise it was on a sunbed. The temperature of the pools - the heated pool was freezing no matter what time of day, it literally takes your breathe away when you get in! I wasn't brave enough to dip a toe in the unheated ones. These things we felt would improve the hotel's overall offerings but are not the critical things you hope for when you are on holiday. We would recommend this hotel to otherwise as a very good place to stay in Lanzarote. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The location was good. Across the road from the beach and a short stroll to bars and restaurants. Communal areas well kept. The rooms were clean, only downside was the smell of drains from our balcony, we were at the front and paid extra for a seaview. The restaurant was more like a works canteen. Nobody seated you or took a room number, it was a fight for a table if you timed it wrong. It had a manic atmosphere, people queuing for food. The wait staff were doing their best but there was nobody managing the restaurant at all. One night we came down at 8.35pm (it closes at 9.30pm) all the cheese and breads had been cleared away and they were setting up for the next day. It was a kind of ”Here's your hat what's your hurry” feeling as they cleared up around you before you had finished. We ate out a few nights even though we had paid for half board, it was less stressful and nicer food. The first night we needed water for the children and were never told there was a water machine and they sold us 3 bottles of water from the bar instead. We had to go to the beach a couple of days as we couldn't get a sun bed, which all made for a stressful experience, not relaxing at all. The reception staff were very unfriendly and looked annoyed whenever we asked for anything. They need a larger restaurant and someone front of house. They also need another pool area to accommodate the amount of people and customer service training for reception staff. Personally I would never go there again, felt we like cattle. It's a shame because it could be nice but it was definitely not a 4 star experience. We booked this through a Jet2 Package Holiday.

The hotel is amazingly clean, it is cleaned every day. Staff are very helpful. The cleaners let them selves in, there is nothing to let the cleaners know if that you don’t require it that day. The hotel is in 2 parts, the main side and a quiet side( the quiet side you can hear other hotels having fun😂) there is a pool which isn’t heated to this side and nothing else. The main side has a large pool (salt water) which is supposed to be heated😂 and 1 bar, if your all inclusive (which we were) the quiet side doesn’t really work,(we did ask to be moved but couldn’t) if you want a drink it’s a trek it would suit if self catering though the spar was closer than the bar. We had a 2 bed ground floor apartment it was big enough for us but with only having 1 sofa I could see it not being enough for some family’s. There is a walk way to other hotels between the main and quiet side with gates, the code to these gates are given to you on arrival, good for saftey but not very good if you want to take drinks to your apartment and have your hands full. They get pad locked at around 7pm every night so you have to walk around the outside of the complex in the evening, to get to the restaurant and bar,they get unlocked at 7 am, so no alarms needed by the delivery drivers unlocking these. Food and drink was basic and very repetitive and salty. There was no entertainment either while we were there. It’s a good 40 min walk into PDC where there is loads going on. Over all good for b&b or self catering, would stay again but definitely not all inclusive.
