"1. Taxi to the hotel will be paid by the hotel directly.
2. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
3. Meals are awesome.
4. Ensuite outdoor Onsen is nice and convenient, but can fit 1 person only.
5. There’s another public family Onsen that u can book too.
6. And luggage delivery service can be arranged at a reasonable price, so that u can travel comfortably with free hands."
"I didn't have high expectations for the kaiseki course meal, so it was okay. The room was spacious, clean, and warm. The open-air bath, family bath, and hot spring were really nice. It's a bit too far to walk from Yufuin Station, so I recommend taking a taxi. The staff were friendly, and the person who served the food spoke Korean well, which was nice. There was also a Korean staff member at check-out, so it was convenient."
"I had some trouble checking in when I booked through Trip.com. It would be helpful if the reservation number or a QR code could be provided beforehand. The explanations for the facilities were well-provided in Korean, making them convenient to use. However, I was a bit disappointed by some impolite behavior from fellow Korean guests that might have caused a disturbance. I apologize if their actions caused any inconvenience, as they might have been unfamiliar with the surroundings. And a strong recommendation for the onigiri on the first floor!"
"Very nice hotel that highly recommend. Very good location, closed to main shoppping street and 金鱗湖but quiet. We stayed in the room with private hot spring which is super good. The convenient store is just 1 min walk away. Surely will stay here if visit 油布院again."
"It was really really good..
I was worried because there weren't many reviews, but it was so much better than I imagined, and if I ever get another chance to go to Yufuin, I'd go to Tamayura again! This isn't an ad^^.
The kaiseki had such a mediocre rating, but it wasn't anything to worry about. I was so full and the food was so good that I couldn't even eat the sushi I bought at the mart properly. Breakfast was also really delicious. In particular, all the fish dishes were delicious!
The facilities were also really good. There were some reviews saying it was cold, but the room was warm when the heater was turned on! However, since the shower area isn't indoors, it might be cold if you go in the winter. However, it's the best in this weather. Basic amenities are provided, and there are yukatas!
And the best thing is that the owner and staff are so pretty and kind!
They even used a translator to communicate with us and treated us so well,
I felt good the whole time I was there ㅎㅎ
It's been a few days since I came back, so I'm just writing a review now
I hope the owner's wife and daughter read this review and remember us ㅎㅎ It was really the best! I highly recommend Tamayura! The best!!!!"
"The location is about a 20-minute walk from downtown and is at the very end. As you can see in the review, it was actually nice because I went to see the countryside, but it was scary at night^^; too dark
I stayed in a Japanese room for 3 nights. The two owners, who appeared to be mother and daughter, were very friendly and the young lady spoke English fluently, so it was comfortable! They said there were two hot springs, one large and one small, so we only stayed in the large hot spring. We locked the door and it was just us, so it was private, but since the accommodation was in the countryside and old, there were a lot of cobwebs in the hot spring. I didn't see any spiders and the inside of the accommodation was very clean. I only ate breakfast once, and it was soso for me, but I guess my husband didn't like it. (It comes with rice balls, mushrooms, etc.) We also rented a bicycle, so we had fun haha."
"The hotel staff are mostly Korean, and the owner is also Korean. We booked a triple room on the first floor, which was conveniently close to the outdoor onsen. The room itself was spacious and clean. The onsen was also excellent.
We visited on a weekday, and it seemed like there were only two groups of guests, including us. It felt like we had the dining area and the onsen all to ourselves. Aside from briefly seeing them at the front desk, we didn't encounter the other guests at any other time.
We had booked a package that included dinner. The dinner was a delightful, multi-course Japanese meal (kaiseki-style), where each dish was introduced and served individually, only after the previous one was finished. Upon departure, a complimentary shuttle service to the station was provided.
However, getting there upon arrival was a bit tricky; we had to take a taxi (around 1000 JPY) as it involved an uphill walk, and it was quite hot. Walking would have taken 30-40 minutes.
The hotel is a convenient 10-15 minute walk from Kinrin Lake and the 'Fairytale Village.' You could easily visit these attractions in the morning, return, and then check out before departing.
If you need to do laundry, there's a coin-operated laundromat a 7-8 minute walk away (as shown in Pic 4). For those who prefer to buy their own breakfast, a convenience store is a 10-minute walk, conveniently located on the way to Kinrin Lake."
"The location is very convenient - close to the station and the bus terminal. The staff is friendly and polite. The room was clean (it was very small, but it was enough for me, because I was alone), the view from the window was pleasing) Cleaning was done once a day (with replacement of yukata, towels, toiletries and trash removal).
Three onsen - on the 1st, 3rd floors and on the roof. I visited two - on the roof (it is VERY hot, but it was still great! Photo No. 2) and on the 3rd floor (it is also essentially in the open air, not as hot and also great, photos No. 3 and 4). Reservation of the time to visit the onsen was upon check-in (plus from a certain time all onsens worked as public, with free access).
P.s. The local cats are adorable! 😊"
"The hotel is super easy to get to, right near Beppu's hot spring street! The front desk staff were warm and attentive. We opted for the Kaiseki dinner, and it was fantastic – so many different dishes, all delicious, served one after another. It felt very ceremonial and enjoyable. Our server was an older lady who spoke excellent English, which was really impressive and showed great dedication to her job. Breakfast was also good, a full Japanese-style spread, and we left completely satisfied. Oh, and the room was Japanese style with all tatami mats, and the view from the window was lovely. Sipping tea while looking at the distant mountains was truly a relaxing and delightful experience."
"This must be the biggest hotel room I have ever stayed in Japan. It is a traditional Ryokan with 3 Private Onsen available for reservation upon arrival. The scenery and ambience around the hotel were peaceful & very gorgeous. The mountain view from our room was fantastic. Besides, it took less than 10 mins walking distance to the famous Kinrik Lake! 😌🎐 Each guest could pick a 👘 for free too. The services was great and the staffs were attentive too.
We stored all our biggest luggages at Yufuin Station and only brought along light luggage because it is far away from station. Gentle reminder for the guest to book a taxi at least one day earlier before your departure. By the way, it was a lucky morning when it started to snow during our ryokan checked out! It made the Ryokan looked even more amazing! ❄️
The only regret was breakfast and dinner were both unavailable during reservation and there is no ryokan contact was available before arrival. It would be 100% if I were to taste the すきやき, Sukiyaki! 🥩🍲"

Amazing
KKelvin 旅行GoIt was my first time staying in a hotel with two nights and one meal with my girlfriend.
The experience was really great. Although the hotel is a little far from the bus station, I suggest taking a taxi to try it (it doesn't cost $1000 Yen) or walking there (it takes about 15 minutes and is easy to find).
It is recommended that you go to the supermarket to buy some snacks before checking in, because it is a little far from the hotel.
The check-in time is 15:00. If you arrive early, it is recommended to store your luggage first (of course, the staff will help you to enter the room when the time comes, which is very considerate). We arrived early that day and walked around the street near Jinlin Lake.
Fortunately, it was Tuesday and there were not many people. We just happened to go to a CAFE store near Jinlin Lake (enjoy the scenery and coffee at the same time!)
Then when we checked in, the staff was also very considerate to introduce the room facilities to each of us, and booked dinner and breakfast with them.
I didn't expect this kind of enjoyment to be so great!
I hope to have the opportunity to stay in this hotel again next time (because this hotel only has 6-7 rooms, so everyone should book quickly!)

GGuest UserIt's exactly the same as the picture.
I was a little worried because there were no reviews,
but it's a bit of an ambiguous distance to walk from Yufuin Station,
but the facilities were very clean and the owner responded quickly.
There were dishes and cooking utensils, and it was possible to bring dogs, so there were dog pads and pet supplies on one side. The private room had hot water 24 hours a day, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The four of us, my mother-in-law, my wife, and my baby, went there and had a great rest.

Great
GGuest UserThe location is remote and the transportation is inconvenient. I called the hotel but they didn't answer the phone, so I had to take a taxi. There are not many taxis in Yufuin... It's about 160 yuan...
It's like a small house in the countryside, more suitable for older people to drive by themselves. The surrounding area is very desolate and not recommended for children.
There are about 7-8 households in the whole yard, with a total of 4 private baths, which need to be used with a sign. The outdoor pool is also outdoors, and it's very windy and cold in winter...
Dinner is OK...
KKYUNGROKFirst of all, the staff were so kind that I felt really good the whole time I was staying at the accommodation. ㅎㅎ
I was worried that it would be too cold to sleep in the room that included a private hot spring, but I turned on the heater and slept so it was so hot that I slept with the window open. ㅎㅎ

KKT KelvinThe hotel is located near the center of Yufuin, making it very convenient for both JR and car travel. I drove, and there was parking right outside the hotel.
The staff provided directions and explained the hotel facilities upon check-in.
The room had an old-school Japanese feel upon entering. There were two outdoor patios for drying clothes or letting the children play.
After checking in, we booked a time slot for a private bath. It was perfectly located right next to our room. However, the water was too warm, and neither my friend nor I enjoyed it.
We then switched to the public baths, which were very satisfying. 👍🏻

JJONGMINIt's good for staying alone and the price is great. The downside is that there are too many couples. The hot springs were really the best. I'll visit again.

AAnonymous UserThe whole place was so clean and everything was as described. It is run by an older friendly couple. The room was spacious, especially compared to the rooms you get in the city. I didn’t include the breakfast for my stay, but everything seemed homemade and quaint. I used the public onsen and showers during my stay. I went there around 9-10pm and it was empty both nights (the onsen closes at 11:30pm). There is a private onsen that you can book in advance if you feel more comfortable using that. The location was right in the middle, between the train/bus station and the main shopping area, which I found very convenient. It was easy to wheel my suitcase over to the hotel from the train station.

여여행하는냥냥이A place I stopped by while backpacking solo!
The facilities were great, and I was very satisfied with the dinner and breakfast.
The owner took me on a night tour.
I went out with other travelers to see the fireflies in a car.
The night sky was beautiful, and it was a great place to relax.
I especially recommend this place to anyone planning a trip to the Jigokudani (Hells of Beppu).
You can get to the Jigokudani (Hells of Beppu) inexpensively by taking a bus from the bus terminal in front of Yufuin Station!
Some of the Jigokudani (Hells of Beppu) are a bit far away, so I recommend taking the bus on hot days.
I walked everywhere, but... I regretted taking a bus or taxi. Haha. Still, it was worth it!

AAnonymous UserThe accommodation is beautiful, the surrounding atmosphere is good, and there is an onsen hot spring to soak in. The food is delicious. **But what I am not very impressed with is the control of other service providers. Mostly, 99% on the day I stayed were Koreans who were not very polite. They did not know even the etiquette and rules of using the public hot spring. I am not sure if the owner of the accommodation has informed the rules of using the hot spring, which is something I cannot accept. They were loud, threw the earbuds on the floor, and were not orderly. They also wore shoes in the common area of the dressing room in the hot spring. I was very disappointed. It was a rather disappointing vacation, even though it should have been a good day for me. I lost the mood to soak in the atmosphere. I did not even have the heart to take pictures of the atmosphere with the accommodation.
