"It certainly does the job for a short trip. I stayed for two nights and was only there to sleep - I spent the daytime making the most of the extremely convenient location. All the amenities - the lounge area, bathrooms, WiFi - are fair enough. One concern I had was the lack of security - the lockers are pretty weak and can be pulled open pretty easily."

"Stayed one night since I was visiting Oahu to eat at some new restaurants. The price was budget friendly and the location was perfect since it’s right across the street from the International Marketplace. Room was clean and spacious but it was because I got the ADA one. Only complaint about the room was the sound of an ice machine or some kind of faucet every so often by the headboard of the bed. There must be something across the wall from it since it is a corner room and no adjacent neighboring rooms. Overall though I would go back largely for the location. The hallways are a bit trippy if not creepy in a cool way."

"I have no complaints at all - this might be the perfect resort at this price point. Check-in was smooth, the rooms are excellent (albeit maybe a bit on the small side for three persons, and we did miss not having a barhtub), the view excellent (description said “ocean view” and it was better than expected, even from the Pacific Tower), restaurants both great. The location is perfect, just a few min walk from the Royal Hawaiian Center; and the hotel has its own /small/ beach with really a good view of the sunset. Big shoutout to the very friendly staff at Monkeypod Kitchen as well as the poolside Towel Hut! Would revisit without a doubt!"

"Check in time was 3pm however my flight arrived mid morning & hotel kindly let me check in immediately upon arrival around 11am Room was very comfortable but no shower cap or other amenities offered Location is slightly out of the centre with a 5 block walk which was tiring however staff were lovely except the travel desk staff member who was very rude & chomping on an orange whilst talking to you & not helpful"

"In the hotel's restaurant. We had to wait some considerable time to be attended to, we ended up seating ourselves, getting our own menus and water, whilst the sole server juggled his other responsibilities. After a very ordinary fish & chips meal, with the thinnest fries we've ever seen we received a bill for the equivalent of AUD $90 to which not only had a 4% kitchen charge been added but additionally a further 18% service charge. Neither the meal or service justified this charge in any way. We left what we considered to be a fair and reasonable payment which more than covered the cost. For the AUD$ 75 cost we could have fed four people with a far better quality meal. We had been unable to use our drinks voucher in the restaurant, so after the meal we went to the bar in the same hotel to use our vouchers to get a drink. Whilst there a very disgruntled server from the restaurant and some random woman from the bar came and accosted us, snatching a jam jar of tap water we had brought round with us to finish at the bar. We were basically accused of stealing a jam jar of tap water whilst sitting at a bar in the same hotel, as paying guests! A waiter from the restaurant hung around the entire time just to ensure he got his jam jar back! Next morning we loaded our own cases onto the free shuttle bus. The driver tried to dismantle our cases, we asked him to leave our cases to allow space for other guests & we wanted them to stand in the luggage space adjacent to the rack, as they had done on the way to the hotel. The driver began shouting at us, threw a tantrum & went to get his boss, who came out & saw no issue with our cases. The driver then began driving recklessly, racing round corners and braking heavily. Guests had to tell him to slowdown and stop driving dangerously. He then made all the guests remove their own bags unassisted after we informed him his behaviour certainly did not warrant any tips! A shocking & horrible end to our holiday & not a very good advertisement for the USA Dreadful tipping culture of entitlement even if service does not warrant it! ."

"Since I was mainly visiting Kauai, I stayed here for three days and two nights, focusing entirely on Ala Moana. It's directly connected to Ala Moana, which is very convenient. I ate at the food court. I had a hearty dinner watching the sunset at Signature Steak & Seafood on the top floor of the hotel. You can also go to Ala Moana Beach. They also offer free water dispensers. My shower wasn't working properly, so I called and they fixed it right away. The service was excellent. The view wasn't great, but that wasn't a concern, so I was able to stay a little cheaper. It's also great that there's no resort fee. There's a Starbucks below the hotel, and it's always open! It's a hidden gem. I recommend this hotel for those who want to explore the main Ala Moana area. The staff were also very helpful."

"We had a very nice stay at Hotel La Croix, it is walking distance to the beach. When we first got there, we had asked if we possibly could get a room with a view and was initially told our room initially assigned is on the lower level and has construction view. Manager offered to upgrade us for a fee to a higher floor room. It has a very nice view of the beach but being that the room has 2 windows, the other side is still a construction view. Beds are comfortable and room has everything we need. Because of the upgrade, we had received access to the Monkey pod room which provided free bottled water, canned drinks and snacks. Overall we had a pleasant stay there. Didn't get to enjoy the pool, but it's also nice that the hotel has ABC store right downstairs and free coffee in the morning in the lobby. "

"The scenery is nice and the service is also very good. The front desk is serious and attentive. The room is very clean. You need to queue for the buffet, but the wait time will not be too long. It is also close to the downtown area, about seven or eight minutes away by car."

"The hotel's location is absolutely unbeatable. Waikiki Beach is just across the street, making it super convenient for beachgoers and families with kids. Thanks to its prime spot, the balcony offers fantastic views, and it's incredibly relaxing to just lie there and enjoy the morning. The lobby provides towels for guests to use at the beach, which can be conveniently returned to a designated bin on the same day – another handy feature. Now for some downsides. We booked two rooms, and the balconies felt a bit unstable, noticeably swaying when a few people stood on them. The railings also seemed inadequate and quite exposed, which felt a bit unsafe. We stayed for six nights, and it felt like daily tipping for housekeeping was expected. Without a tip, the service wasn't thorough, often missing things like fresh towels or replenished amenities. Furthermore, there was no complimentary bottled water provided daily, which we found unusual. Guests also need to bring their own toiletries, as the hotel does not supply them. The hotel has a paid laundry room; washing fees were comparable to New York, but drying was quite expensive. On top of that, there were unreasonable mandatory fees (e.g., resort fees) of around $60 per day, with very few actual amenities included for that price. Next time I visit, I definitely wouldn't choose this hotel again. I'd opt for hotels like the Hilton, just a block or two away from the main road. The walking distance isn't significantly different, but the price difference is substantial."

"Loved this hotel. Service was great, rooms were clean, excellent location - came here to celebrate my birthday and this stay made it so memorable. If there was any negative and this is really nit-picking….the bathroom was a bit small. Apart from that, couldn’t fault it. So, mahalo Alohilani, we loved you. ❤️"
