"This was the third stay over a 10 year time span. Every stay the hotel has been friendly, and clean. This time was no different. However, to my surprise there was an added parking fee of $29 per night. This caught me as odd since our previous stays had not charged for this convenience. Going from free to $29 seemed rather obnoxious. The person at checkin pointed out the small print in the reservation that stated the upcharge for parking. I have to admit I didn’t even look for that as I hadn’t been charged for parking the previous stays. Lesson learned."
"Everything was good except no pool. It said it had a pool online but actually there isn't one. Parking is also across the street, which is kind of annoying. Everything else was great. Close to OMSI."
"We got there super late coming in from delayed flight from JFK one night! We’d been cruising Mediterranean for 15 days and had already flown for 17 hours. I had a late check-in Standard room booked for my Sister and I who badly overpacked and had 5 heavy suitcases of various sizes. I chose Holiday Inn @ PDX as it was close by the Airport AND offered shuttle service! With the help of the Shuttle driver we managed to load everything but our carry-on luggage on the cart. Checked in and were given the key to our room on the 2nd Floor. Laboriously we made our way up to 2, managed to get our suitcases outta the elevator with the fast closing door and made it to our assigned room only to discover that the “key” didn’t work—no amount of re-insertion would convince it to, either; so my Sis went back down to the check-in desk and was given a key to a Suite on the 3rd Floor!
We made our way up to that suite of rooms and were greeted with an exquisitely dark & dreary mostly dark brown but well appointed two room Suite. The rooms were clean, but the Holiday Inn in th location if VERY OLD, and they’ve done y their best to offer amenities to accommodate and make up for the aged old place. The Coffee Maker didn’t work, but everything else seemed to. The King Bed was super comfortable but the carpeting is old and unraveling and the living-room wall heater burned its way through a travel bag that help my brand new never worn Natica Puffy Jacket and the carrying bag! Didn’t know it was even on. Good place to crash for a night or two, but no longer. Bed was super!!"
"The location is good and the staff is friendly. The bathroom is too open, so it is a bit uncomfortable for couples. And the sink is next to the room, so it was a bit inconvenient. Other than that, I am satisfied overall."
"The hotel is very conveniently located, with various small shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel has a fully equipped kitchen for cooking. The hotel has an underground garage. Portland is not very safe at night, so it is still safe to park the rental car in the underground garage."
"I really enjoyed the spaciousness of the room. It was also very nice to have such a neat and tidy space. Breakfast was your standard fare, nothing too fancy. The pool and hot tub were very enjoyable amenities. Overall, a very pleasant stay!"
"First time in this hotel, quite good.
Good location, good room, separate shower and closet, coffee maker in room.
No parking, but there is a valet service. If you bring car you can park in the next block in Jefferson st, comfortable and reasonable price.
Housekeeping and waiting quite slow response for services.
Overall happy with the stay"
"One word: Perfect !
Without doubt, the best hotel I have ever stayed without spending a LOT more money. I had a wonderful corner room with loads of light, amenities were outstanding: comfortable bed, big bathroom with good water pressure, amenity kit (see pic), huge TV (which, unlike many hotels was easy to operate), sensible light switches, plenty of power outlets, inc USB on each side of the bed for phone charging, soft robes, excellent plunger coffee maker, fridge, in-room safe, etc etc. I honestly couldnt fault anything. Staff were very good. Bar and restaurant were also very good. I only wish I had more then 2 nights there. Wonderful stay."
"I was disappointed that they gave only 2 bottles of water daily even though there were 3 of us. The room also does not have a fridge and had a safe which did not work.
In addition, there was no self service laundrette where we could wash our laundry.
The cleaner who did our room did not do a good job with the toilet - I kept seeing the same cotton bud on the floor next to the bin for the whole time that I was there.
Also the room size is rather small for what should be able to accommodate 4 persons."
"Great location, very convenient to everywhere!
The hotel environment is good, not noisy, and the sound insulation is OK!
The hot water supply is stable and the toilet has no odor!
The only problem is that breakfast is made to order, and when a large number of business travelers check in, breakfast is often not available in time!"

GGuest UserMy husband, 2 sons and I stayed at the Inn at Northrup Station recently while in Portland visiting our daughter. The location worked out very well for us and everyone enjoyed the breakfast. The first night, our bathroom door squeaked when we got up in the middle of the night to use the facilities waking others in the room. I talked to the front desk in the morning and they came in and gave it some oil which worked perfectly to silence it during the night. Very much appreciated! The beds seemed smaller than normal queen sized beds but we had no way of verifying that. Luckily there was a pull out sofa in our room so one of our sons slept on that after the first night. The bed did seem smaller than our queen at home to my husband and me as well.
JJudymorningLobby and room look amazing. Elevators fast and don’t have to wait too long. The staff are friendly but we asked for laundry bags but waited for so long at least 40 minutes. Breakfast area is good and food was ok. But not that many options to eat. Location is great! So close to downtown. Parking fee I think is 39-40? It was ok but still don’t get it why we need to pay for parking fee when you stay in the hotel( but I guess most of hotels are like that) I wish they had paper slippers in the room.
GGuest UserThe location is in the city center, convenient and clean, and the service is good. There are good restaurants nearby. There are large shopping malls, hotel cleaning is done every two days, and the gym is also very useful. There is a microwave at the front desk which is very convenient.
VVictor Sunny Wuover charge for requesting early check-in and offered upgrade which was not satisfactory. Was not welcoming; .no service available. Said free coffee! went there twice, both times was not available. There was one person in the lobby to assist customers. Did not have a great experience as had before.
GGuest UserWe fly in from Hawaii, our flight delayed 3 hours, so we arrived at the hotel at 4am, the girl at the counter was walking towards outside and saw us entering the hotel with luggages without saying a word, we thought she was stepped out just a bit, and waited in the lobby, but she disappeared! There was another man in the lobby he tried to help us find her however no luck.
We were so very tired and waited in the lobby for half an hour, she finally came in and gave us the key of the room, it only took like 2 minutes.
If it were that simple, why not just handed the key to us upon our arrival, we tried to make phone calls, but the phone rang right in front of us in the counter with nobody inside, it's very very very frustrated.
GGuest UserThe breakfast was excellent, clean and comfortable room, the location is perfect in Pearl District with good restaurants, bars, and supermarkets close to the hotel, but you have to pay extra for the parking lot
JJoAnna McDonnellLet me start with cudos for Elizabeth at the front desk. I'd say she did everything in her control to make my stay excellent. GREAT customer service there. The van driver, however, made me feel unimportant. What????? We have to turn the van back around to return to the hotel to pick up a pilot? Even though you were late in picking me up and nearly making me late for my own connection? GACK!
I'd say the company puts a lot of money into the lobby and the exterior. Sadly, once you step off the elevator, everything is a little shabby, torn and run-down. Perfect to lure in the traveler who won't be coming back.
AAdam ValentinerI would describe this as a hipster hotel with unique character to match the downtown area. My teenage kids did like the room and the adjacent coffee shop. However, I felt the room was a little small, especially the bathroom and the room could use some updating like more amenities like towel racks and storage for suitcases. Our room was not close to being recently remodeled so pictures can be a little deceiving. Bed was comfortable but I could hear people walking around above our room at night. I also struggled with parking found it very stressful trying to find parking, plan to spend around $40 a day on parking a day if you are driving around a lot. The overnight parking which is approx 10-15 minutes away walking distance is not on site and is only $20 a night, but it does not feel safe after 10pm to be walking around due to the homeless problem in the area. I don't think I will be returning to this hotel. I def don't feel like this was a 3 star hotel, I would give it a 2.5 out of 4 or 5 stars. The breakfast was a continental at best. Pastries with juice or coffee and fruit. Sometimes they provided yogurt or boxed oatmeal and oat milk but nothing special and get there before 9 am or there may run out of items. Portland has a lot of fun things to see but because of the homeless problem I would seek out recommendations for the best attractions and stir clear of the problem areas. Washington park and art museum were a lot of fun to visit. Multnomah Falls would be an all day trip and get there very early since parking is terrible or park off site and take tram in. I was also charged an additional fee of $25 a night which was not mentioned anywhere on the trip.com booking receipt.
GGuest UserThe staff 々 is very kind. The room was also very clean! I didn't have a hair dryer in the room, and when I told the staff, they gave it out. There was also a morning snack and I was able to spend very comfortable.
