It’s a holiday cabin, it’s better to go in the summer, go out through a few small trees that are beaches, and lucky to see the dolphins. At night, I always feel that there are animals knocking on the door. There is always a sound.

Wish I’d have read them everything is true. This is not a luxury resort. Tired old dirty rooms. No staff anywhere. No gym access. Unusable internet. No assigned parking and not enough spaces. But best of all many people live here permanently and they do not like visitors. One resident came INSIDE our room as we brought in our cases and told us off for banging the door. We had been here under 2 minutes. Another resident ambushed my daughter parked by lift unloading her cases with a tiny baby and 2 year old told her off too. Within 90 seconds of arrival. Literally they patrol the place looking for chances to discipline visitors for actually being here !! Nice grounds but horrible atmosphere- rudest barmaid in the bar rude to coworkers and guests went for 1 drink and left. Yes we asked for our room to be cleaned to give the place a chance to step up before complaining and someone came and cleaned one window and sprayed a scent to cover up curry smell but couldn’t get rid of it. Staff are hidden and only available via mobile phone. Ghastly. Do not go. It is not a resort experience!

Quiet room, 2 x QB's, suite was spacious with good quality beds, which were comfortable. We both slept well. Parking area was very hectic, fine when we booked in, but after going for a drive around the beach & the town, picking up dinner & back to the hotel, the car parks were all full. This was the only downside to our stay. Staff were very friendly on check-in & departure. If you were fit & able it was a short walk to eateries & the beach.

We stopped over here for a night passing through. Checking was fine friendly staff. However the room was disgraceful. Cockroaches crawling up the walls near the bed and in the bathroom bugs crawling in and on the bed sheets. The bunk bed at top was hard and my son couldn’t sleep on it the pillow was like a bag of cement and my son had developed a nice reaction from query dust as his eyes were watering smd puffy and sneezing constantly. He needed an antihistamine to stop and settle and all 3 had to sleep in the one bed as the bunk bed was too uncomfortable

Stayed here one night on our way to the gold coast. Room is large for myself , the control enthusiast and my 7 year old to stay for the one night we were here. Cleanliness of the Room was excellent and the staff super nice. I have nothing bad to say about this place because the short time I stayed there everthing I needed was met and fulfilled. We used our dine and discover vouchers and our overnight stay cost us $5 . I would have to be the worst person on earth to review a motel that charged my family $5 to stay there , anything less than 5 stars. Pros. Very clean Very quiet Cons. Nowhere to land my private jet

GGuest UserThis is one of the best places I have ever stayed at. The people are the friendliest and most helpful. The unit was superb, with 3 large bedrooms one with a full size en suite and the very large main bathroom with corner spa. The hole unit was very clean and the kitchen had everything that you need for a short stay or longer. The pool and BBQ area was fantastic again everything you need for a BBQ (cooking utensils, plates and even sauce and butter in the fridge that everybody can use. The beach is a two minute walk straight out the back. I am happy to recommend Smugglers On The Beach to anybody that's need accommodation at Coffs Harbour overnight or a month. I will be staying there next time and will be looking forward to it.

CcherriestongIts been some time since we came to the Pier Hotel for Dinner and we found it a pleasant experience. In recent times it has had a lot of renovation work done and its a pretty busy and popular venue especially with those younger than us. I ordered a Steak Sandwich which was the best I have ever had. Served on Toasted Focaccia Bread with the works, the steak was juicy and tender with great fries on the side and for a reasonable price. Wine and beer prices were also reasonable so we will be back again.

GGuest UserOverall, a pleasant stay, in a beautiful location, but with a few much needed upgrades, it could be so much better. The grounds around the resort were lovely. The check in process was friendly and quick. Directions to room a bit vague. Told that the wifi was having issues and we were unlikely to be able to get wifi or 5g from the room (on arrival to the room 5G was fine, but wifi virtually non existent). Car park was like a rabbit warren and difficult to find the correct lift to go up. Later the under cover car park was full, over flow car park full. Had to park over on the dirt with big muddy puddles everywhere. On arrival to room there was a dingy dark little entrance room, and the light was hard to find in there, so we had to use our phone torch to be able to see to open the door. Very dissapointed in room on arrival. Photos on the internet of the executive 1 bedroom apartment showed nicely updated kitchen and bathroom, what we got was old and dated. An old fashioned beige spa bath and an old fashioned shower over bath set up, and barely high enough to get my head under water. It was nice and hot with decent pressure though. Bathroom seemed to only have 1 small soap and one small shower gel for 2 guests. The kitchen was fine, but had no overhead cupboards, splash back etc like in the photos on the internet. I messaged reception about my dissatisfaction with the room, but received no reply. The rest of the room was nice, and very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The views to the golf course and lake were nice, and was good to have a balcony. The TV in the bedroom was extremely tiny, and situated poorly so you have to look down to watch. There was a larger TV in the living area though. We did not watch TV at all, as knew Netflix etc would not work with no Wifi. The fridge was not stocked at all, apart from 1 tiny bottle of long life milk. No water, soft drink or any form of mini bar. Things that really let down the room were things like the rusty air conditoner external unit, old creaky window in bathroom, window with slatted blinds that are very dusty, and that same window that didn't seem to seal properly. Also a few little cobwebs in the bathroom. With a bit more attention to detail, this could be an amazing resort, but at the moment, I was very let down, especially since our room didn't match what was on the internet. Reasonably priced though.

LLISHII see that the evaluation is less, I wrote a detailed point. First of all, because it is a motel, the expectation itself is not high, and the first time I hope to be clean. As a result, not only the house was very quiet after check-in, but there were no bugs and the speed of the network was very fast. It was very good in the motel.
Speaking of the disadvantages, one is that the air conditioner is very noisy, the second is that there will be car sounds on the roadside, but living in the motel, car noise can be understood and accepted

GGuest UserWe booked on short notice and was able to get a pet friendly room for a 1 night stay. The room was clean & comfortable. The facilities were very good. The manager? on the desk was a lovely lady, very friendly and a great personality.
The noise was a bit loud from the highway but by 11pm it had settled and only heard a bit through the night.
I think it is amazing to even have a pet friendly motel and I would gladly stay there again.

GGuest UserThe hotel room is clean and ok, a typical 3.5 star Aussie motel. My room is towards the front of the complex, the only place I have stayed that is noisier was above a night club in Las Vegas, USA. Sadly the semi-trailers are noisy and destroy the peace. If the noise is constant you get used to it, but you get 2-5 minute slots of peace, then a truck comes along with exhaust brakes and wakes you up all night long. In Sydney most motels near the Pacific Hwy are more sound proof - perhaps they need to ban exhaust brakes in Coffs Harbour??! I have been to many places around the world, this is possibly the worst noise pollution I have ever experienced, it ruins the concept of a peaceful stay in a costal town !!! Feel sorry for the motel, when it was built loud semi-trailers did not exist .. Now days the noise pollution really ruins the coastal town.

GGuest UserWe stayed here for a night and it was fantastic! The staff at the desk were so nice! We went over to our accommodation, opened the door and the room was so clean and fresh and big! We had a perfect room! A perfect pool that we didn’t want to leave and The restaurant is so cute, I imagine it would of all been a bit flash in the 80’s! We will definitely come back!!!

The external of the Motel is old, however the room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. All the linen seemed new (certainly the towels and bathroom linen. The new managers (Mark and Donna) are very friendly and are working hard to turn around older reviews from previous managers. When I booked I mentioned to Mark that due to my bike breaking down, I had to leave it at a nearby bike shop for repair. Mark immediately offered to come and pick me up, with all my gear.... which was great and beyond duty. The room I was in was very clean, tidy and great hot shower. I would definitely stay here again. Look beyond the external signs of an ageing property and it's a great place to stay.

QQIANThe room was small, but the couple was enough, the bar restaurant was very good, the atmosphere was very good, it was a bit noisy before 10 o'clock in the evening, but we also went to the bar to eat, so I didn’t feel it.
