Location was beautiful and room was adequate. They had coffee but the creamer was soured and when I asked for something else I was told I would have to wait until the proprietor was awake (this was at 7:30am which was really 8:30 since we had just turned the clocks back) I never got any creamer. Also the hairdryer didn’t work and there was no one to ask about getting one that did work. We left early to get coffee. For the money I would say not worth it.

From the moment my husband, pup and I arrived at theHarbor Rose we felt welcomed and part of the family. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. Coffee and tea were always available which was nice because the weather was cool and rainy. I would highly recommend staying at the the Harbor Rose and we will again the next time we pass through the area.

This is not a typical bed and breakfast. Bed- the home is beautiful and in a good location with access in the backyard to trails. The inn keeper is helpful and kind. The bed itself was very comfortable! Breakfast- Breakfast is “in a bag” including add-hot water oatmeal, a baked donut, banana, orange, and canned pineapple juice. This may be just fine for some, but just a heads up this is not the typical hot breakfast component of a bed and breakfast you may be looking for. There is coffee and tea available which was nice. Heads up - do not to leave your shoes in the foyer as the friendly dog of the home took my brand new trail shoes and ate the laces. We were told it was just fine to leave our shoes there, and the inn keeper was very kind and offered to reimburse me for the laces! But I still would have liked to know this could have been a concern.

We stayed at the Harbor Rose while visiting family in Queens. An oasis just outside the city. The rooms are immaculate, atmosphere calm and welcoming, and the breakfast goodies were delicious. We would certainly recommend to anyone visiting the city.

I stayed in the Vanderbilt Room. The place is spotless! The bed was super comfy and the marble bathroom with high pressure rainfall shower felt like a spa. Deirdre the host’s homemade vegan muffins were so scrumptious, and there’s always a variety of coffee and tea and a Nespresso machine in the lobby. Cold Spring Harbor State Park is next door, and West Neck Beach and Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve are close by. It was just the peaceful and relaxing getaway I needed. Thank you, Deirdre!

I came here to get away for the weekend and had not idea how relaxing and Zen this house is. It is a historic house built around the 1840's and it has all of the detail to show for it. Although it is an older house the upkeep is fantastic and the bathroom suite in the Vanderbuilt room is something to behold. There is a quite living/music room with beautiful views and the molding and furniture in this house is refurbished and in very good condition revealing its true beauty from centuries ago. Deirdre, the owner and host is wonderfully accommodating . You must try the ionic dextox foot bath. The backyard leads right to one of the best hiking trails and is a walk away from the town asl a quick 10 minute drive to many restaurants and nightlife in Huntington village.

Very relaxing stay with great accommodations. Deidre was super welcoming, attentive and friendly. The home baked goods for breakfast were amazing. There is a nearby hiking trail accessible on property. Looking forward to another stay in the future.

The Harbor Rose is a wonderful getaway! I took my wife here for her birthday with our 2 year old son. Deirdre was so nice and accommodating. The rooms are all different and special in their own way. The house is immaculately kept and the grounds are enjoyable as well. The location is just across from the bay and very close to many attractions. We arrived to a warm welcome with a couple of grab and go style snack bags. The muffin was literally just made (still warm) and delicious. Coffee, tea, beer, wine and champagne are all available gratis when you walk in! The water is alkaline and very tasty as well. Deirdre is a nutrition specialist and we purchased her book on good health and quality eating habits. I’m a sucker for a great bathroom, and the Vanderbilt room delivered. The shower is really large and has some really cool features without having a shower curtain to deal with! All in all, a great place and great stay. Book here- you won’t be disappointed.
