Booked this hotel for our family of four (2 adults 2 teens) for a 3 night city break in cologne.First impressions after an €8 taxi journey from the train station was , very clean , modern and friendly desk staff.The location is great , short walk to the chocolate museum and even the city centre if you are relatively fit.All down the promenade at the side of the Rhine.Rooms bright and modern with excellent TV and air con.Rewe supermarket a short walk If you want essentials or cheap continental grab and go breakfast. Only slight negative was the blonde lady working the bar seemed to get slightly frustrated when I was going to the bar to keep ordering drinks for our party (yes I drink a lot 😀) but that is her job.She wasn’t too bad the day after though and the rest of the staff were great.I wouldn’t hesitate booking this hotel again.Thank you Novotel for helping make a great trip.

Definitely one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in and the best hotel from Accor Hotels. I had accidentally booked the wrong dates for my stay. As soon as I realised it, I contacted the hotel. The staff helped me to change my reservation dates. While on my trip, due to the strikes in France and problems with the train connections I had to postpone my meeting online. I sent an email to request to check in early since I will be having my meeting at 1 p.m. Ms Wulff made the necessary arrangements prior to my arrival. On my arrival I was able to check in early and able to proceed with my online meeting. Without her help I would not be able to conduct my meeting. On the next day, I had another online meeting. Her colleague made the necessary arrangements so that the housekeeping team could get the room cleaned before lunch and my next online appointment. Till date I have stayed in a number of hotels from the Accor Hotels group. In comparison to M Gallery am Konzerthaus in Wien, Hotel Mondial am Dom in Cologne exceeds my expectations. Professionalism The staff at the reception were not only friendly and good at what they are doing, they are also willing to help and went an extra mile to make things possible. I would not have been able to get my work done if they did not help me. Even when checking out, the staff was professional and showed interest to assist customers whenever they dan. Splendid Location Situation a few minutes walk from the train station and the main city area, is this hotel definite one of the most strategic location in Cologne. View of the Cathedral I managed to get a glimpse of the cathedral from my room. Dinner I had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was not only affordable, the service was impeccable. The waiter even suggested where I could sit so that I can get the best view of the area. Awesome! I would like to thank the remarkable staff for making my stay in Köln memorable und unforgettable. I would definitely be staying in this hotel again when I visit Cologne. In German (Deutsch) Das Hotel Mondial in Köln ist mein Favorit und ist mit Sicherheit das Hotel von der Accor Hotel Gruppe. Ich habe bei der Buchung das falsche Datum eingegeben und musste meine Buchung ändern. Die Mitarbeiterin. hat mir geholfen meine Buchung zu ändern. Wegen Streiks und Probleme mit Deutsch Bahn musste ich meine Termine verschieben. Ich habe das Hotel gefragt ob ich früher einchecken kann um mein Termin online wahr zu nehmen. Frau Wullf hat alles für mich arrangiert damit ich meinen Termin online fortsetzen kann. Am nächsten Tag habe ich auch einen Termin online. Der Kollege von Frau Wulff hat mit dem Housekeeping-Team koordiniert damit das Zimmer von 13 Uhr fertig gereinigt ist. Dadurch könnte ich meinen Termin um 14 Uhr wahrnehmen. In diesem Hotel sind die Mitarbeiter:innen nicht nur freundlich sondern auch hilfsbereit. Diese Motivation ist leider eine Seltenheit auch bei den Luxus-Marken von Accor. This is not an ideal hotel at all. I would not give it anymore than a poor rating. The outer front of the hotel is awful and actually looks like it's closed. Very uninviting! On walking in, I was ”met” (not greeted) by a female member of staff who was OK (she did offer some conversation).... but not the most welcoming of people. I was kept waiting initially while she fetched someone else. In the meantime, I filled in some forms and a rather grumpy and disheveled looking person arrived. He mentioned I had to pay a fee for something but it wasn''t really clear what it was for. I reluctantly paid as it was only 4 euros and I didn't really understand German - had it been anymore, I would might have been more inclined to argue. The room (I was in 107) was frankly reminiscent of something from the Bates Motel. Very old furniture. The room was hot (I had to open the window) and although there was a TV, adequate WIFI, cleans towels etc - the standard was just frankly horrendous. I saw a pube on the wall in the bathroom! For this next part (I take partial responsibility as I WAS warned) but after 10 there is no reception which means you have to take your two keys with you. Now I stupidly assumed it was because the front door would be locked after 10. The real reason is because the hotel room door itself locks behind you. I walked out of the hotel room as I went to see if I could find someone to lend me a fan and the door locked behind me. Without anyone in reception, I was stranded late at night in the corridor. I had to physically climb out of the window and LUCKILY I had left my own open due to the hot weather.... otherwise I don't know what I would have done. I did NOT have the breakfast. It was included in the price but frankly everything seemed so sub-standard that I didn't want to risk it. Honestly, I know you get what you pay for but this wasn't even worth that and I paid approximately £50.

Stayed for two nights. Easy to get around. Close to all amenities, lots of restaurants with different cuisines in the area. Small room with double bed nicely decorated and comfortable enough unspite of little closet space. Clean. There are no shower cup, and just soap for all your body parts, including hair. The staff provided me with a kettle upon requst, so I could have a cup of tea in my room. Continental breakfast is very satisfying. And this hotel has the best cappuccino in Koeln.

The hotel is an easy walk (just a few minutes) from the railway station. It is about two minutes walk to the cathedral which you can see (and hear) from the hotel: the bells chime quite loudly at about 08:00 am and other times. Rooms are a decent size and the beds are very comfortable. It is clean and in the room there is a safe, tv, bathroom with a shower (that oddly has no shower curtain or screen - the floor gets quite wet). Breakfast is good and includes the normal range of hot and cold foods from croissants, toast, bacon, egg, sausage, buns, cereals, hams, salamis, cheeses, coffee, tea, hot water and some really very nice fruit juices (some of the nicest I have tasted in a hotel). The staff in the dining area were really pleasant and friendly. The reception staff were a little more varied but polite and efficient enough. Outside the hotel doesn't look that much but it is generally pleasant and a great base inside. Next door are some convenience store types of shops and a kebab house that I tried and it was exactly the same as back home. McDonalds is just across the road, if that is your thing. We walked to all of the Christmas markets (where we did most of our eating) and around the city centre and down to the Rhine. All are in easy walking distance. There is a bag room where you can leave your bags upon checkout and come back for them later. The security of that was a little lax as people just walked in from the street and took their bags. I went to the reception and told them I was taking mine and the lady looked as if to say, ”ok fine.” No checks. There is also little checking of people walking in from the street and just going upstairs but the doors on the rooms were pretty secure. The lighting is not great in the room and the lights around the hotel are seemingly hanging from their connections. Overall it was a great base from which to explore the city and get to and from. good night's sleep - despite the bells and a good breakfast. I would stay again for a short break in the city.

The room is big enough, clean and the transportation is convenient. I will stay there next time

Loved my stay at this hotel - Not super luxury, but perfect for a short stay. Excellent rooms, wifi and shower) all you need) and the boxed breakfast was exceeding expectations of everyone in our group. Would definitely recommend On a sidenote, only went to the roof Terras at night, but brilliant views

The (non-upgraded) room is relatively spacious, well designed and quiet. I'm glad I did not accept a higher cost upgrade option. It was great for a 4-day stay. There's a separate area for clothing and storage, and a small refrigerator. There was a wall of windows, good light and effective blackout curtains. The in-room coffee service is nice - I didn't find this in my other hotels. The breakfast buffet is worth the price, especially considering the quality, and that a single cup of coffee elsewhere can easily be 5 Euros. It's not a train station hotel (one mile away from the HBF and the Dom), but this hotel is in a very nice area, and is convenient to a great many dining and entertainment options for a Cologne tourist. It's not horrible to take the train here (with one connection) if you are reasonably mobile. Public transit options are many once you figure them out. The USB charging outlets are helpful -- and I did not find these in any other of my hotels. Overall, this chain is a significant step up from the likes of Ibis and Motel One. This hotel is very much worth the reasonable premium it charges. Desk staff was very friendly and helpful throughout my visit. I would happily return to this property.

Die Lage ist gut, zu Fuß ca. 15 Minuten zum Dom, in einer einigermaßen ruhigen Seitenstraße. Zimmer sind sauber und gut ausgestattet aber klein. Hier sind wohl einige Häuser zusammengefügt worden, es wird deswegen wohl Unterschiede in der Größe der Zimmer geben. Schöne und große Auswahl zum Frühstück, welches auf der Website für einen unschlagbaren Preis inkludiert war. Tiefgarage gegen Gebühr vorhanden, zu breit sollte das Auto dafür nicht sein. Check In und Out hat wunderbar funktioniert.

Ich habe vom 28.02. auf den 01.03.23 in Zimmer 215 übernachtet. Der Checkin verlief schnell und freundlich. Leider erhielt ich die falsche Information bezüglich der Sauna- diese sollte bereits (15:30 Uhr) geöffnet sein. Als ich gegen kurz nach 17:00 Uhr in die Sauna wollte, heizte diese gerade erst auf. Das Zimmer war sauber und modern. Allerdings, bauartbedingt, sehr klein. Besonders das Badezimmer ist mini und bietet kaum Abstellflächen. Das WLAN ist recht stabil, stößt aber scheinbar Abends an seine Kapazitäten. Da dieses Zimmer zur Eingangsseite/ Straßenseite/ Parkplatzseite liegt, war es in den Morgenstunden recht laut - aber mit Ohropax konnte das Fenster geöffnet bleiben. An der Sauberkeit gibt es nichts auszusetzen. Leider fehltem dem TV viele TV Programme. Der Fitness-/ Saunabereich wirkt dagegen etwas lieblos und ist zudem nicht voneinander getrennt. Insgesamt ist der Bereich etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Abendessen war leider eine Katastrophe. Ich bestellte die knusprige Maispoulardenbrust auf Kirschtomatengemüse und Rösti. Erhalten habe ich eine trockene Poularde, ohne Knusperhaut und fettigen Reibekuchen. Ich habe nur etwas von der Poularde gegessen und den Teller zurückgehen lassen. Dies wurde vom Service zwar entschuldigt- mehr aber auch nicht. Beim bezahlen wurde der volle Preis von €17,50 berechnet. Auf Nachfrage, ob das ernst gemeint sei, erhielt ich nur JA als Antwort. Da ich, als Platin-Member bei Hotmiles, regelmäßig in H Hotels übernachte, kann ich sagen, dass die Küchenleistung in Brühl bisher am schlechtesten aller von mir besuchten H Hotels ist. Es gab nicht einmal die sonst üblichen Brottaler mit Dipps. Das Frühstück entsprach dem typischen H Hotels Standard und war gut. Schade nur, dass die Säfte aus Konzentrat und Wasser bestehen. Ich würde dieses Hotel wieder auswählen, allerdings einen großen Bogen um das Abendessen und den unkulanten Service dort machen.
