I was upgraded to a suite. Even though I only stayed for 4 hours due to a late-night arrival and an early morning tour, the clean and spacious room was very comfortable. The shower pressure and temperature were perfect, and the hairdryer had good airflow. I also enjoyed the complimentary tea. The staff were friendly and I was very satisfied. I hope to visit again for a longer stay next time.
Room is very clean and spacious. The staff are friendly and always happy to help. There is a small kitchenette in the lobby for use if needed.
Location is in walking distance to the fort. It is however next to a train station that can be quite noisy. There is also a family of pigeons living in the roof that you can hear scrambling about all day. The noise seems to stop at night but you can also see them from the balcony.
Facilities: It's an old hotel, but well-maintained, and the pool is quite nice.
Cleanliness: Clean and tidy.
Environment: Strong Christmas atmosphere, and there's always live performances in the lobby, which is amazing! In the morning after breakfast, I saw a young man playing the piano, and in the evening, there was a band playing. It was a great experience.
Service: The doormen were all very welcoming. Five-star standard service!
This hotel, from its name to its decor, is very colonial. I booked it directly on Ctrip, and the price was great, but the cleanliness was worrying – the bathroom was full of cockroach nymphs 🪳. The TV was so ancient that I hadn't heard that loud, explosive shutdown sound in ages, it cracked me up 😂. The South Asian guy at the front desk was handsome and attentive; he even asked to take a photo with me. The original site was a Dutch governor's residence, later converted into a British barracks in 1837. On November 5, 1875, it was redeveloped into the Grand Oriental Hotel. No wonder there are old government offices nearby, and the hotel is adorned with banners celebrating its 150th anniversary.
There is an elevator! I have wounds on my feet that an elevator is really a saviour to me.
I like the free morning tea and coffee, even though only up to 10am, which is still good enough.
All staff members are kind, serving with a smile.
The only defect is the shower is so weak and hot water only comes out after 10 minutes.
Book earlier, all the dorm beds are full all the time
Location is consider prime central location, 3mins drive to Face Galle Mall and beach. The hotel is old and outdated. I was assigned old outdated room on 15th floor at 3:30pm. My attival experience is very bad due to pver crowded guests at check-in area and they do not have enough man-power to cater the peak. I'm disappointed with my room x old and outdated. After 2 nights stay I requested to change to RENOVATED room at level 8. Which is much comfortable and same as advertised in trip.com. i extended another 3 nights and total stay for 5 night ay hilton. Breakfast area is very crowded and the spread is okay. Next time I willntry sheraton colombo
Cinnamon Lake offers a wonderful overall experience. The facilities are well maintained and comfortable, the food is fresh, tasty, and well presented, and the service is warm and attentive without being intrusive. The peaceful surroundings add to the charm, making it a perfect place to relax and unwind. Overall, it’s a memorable experience that feels calm, welcoming, and worth visiting again.
The hotel facilities are great, but the atmosphere was a bit tense.
Overall, the hotel itself is good; the rooms and service are all up to par. However, this experience felt a bit strange.
We arrived in the middle of the night, and as soon as we entered the hotel, there were two layers of security checks: first, military personnel with sniffer dogs, and then the hotel's own security. Honestly, this kind of setup made me feel a bit tense and unable to relax.
I was looking forward to the sea view when I woke up, but the weather wasn't great that day; neither the sky nor the sea were very blue. The advantage of the large floor-to-ceiling windows wasn't really utilized, which was a bit disappointing.
After leaving the hotel, the street outside was full of tuk-tuks, emitting a strong diesel smell. It instantly pulled me from the vacation vibe back to reality. 😑
I stayed three nights at Fairway Colombo and the hotel delivered a modern, efficient experience. The highlight is the use of robot technology for deliveries, which adds convenience and consistency to the service. Check-in was smooth, and staff were courteous and well-organized throughout the stay.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with reliable Wi-Fi and all essential amenities. Housekeeping was punctual and unobtrusive. The hotel’s location near the Dutch Hospital area made it easy to access dining and attractions on foot.
Overall, Fairway Colombo provides a smart, contemporary stay with good service and a unique tech-focused touch. A strong option for both business and leisure travelers looking for convenience and modern comfort.
The room is accessed with a key, the switch is old-fashioned, and the shower room is rather shabby. If you are on a business trip, the cost standard can only be of this level. If you are traveling alone, this hotel is a bit old.

there was a delicious restaurant supermarket within walking distance.
Check-in time at this hotel is until 23:30, but it took a lot of time to arrange a car from the airport, so when I called the hotel, it was about 30 minutes late, the staff entered the hotel. he waited for me with his mouth.
there was no refrigerator hair dryer in your room.
