Little Cat Lodge

Avoid - terrible service and absent management My family and I stayed at Little Cat Lodge in July. When we arrived there were no staff or seemingly other guests at the lodge. I wasn't aware that check-in was fully self-service at 350$ a night! Thankfully I was able to phone the emergency number--the cell phone service is none too good--and got a call back. I was then asked to upload an ID for check-in despite the terrible cell service. After failing to upload the ID, I was finally given the code for the lock box and was able to retrieve the key after some difficulty. The next morning, after being told by the person on the phone that breakfast started at 6:30, we went to the dining room only to be told there was no breakfast (included in the price of the room) available that morning. We had tours booked so had to find breakfast elsewhere. Also, there are no instructions for how to operate the sauna. As there was no staff when we arrived, we had to work this out for ourselves. I have no idea how this hotel maintains liability insurance. Additionally, the robes in our room had not been cleaned. We found sunglasses and candy wrappers in the pockets. Given the prices charged for the hotel, this really is unacceptable. I complained to one of the staff members and was assured that I would be given a credit for part of the stay. I was never called back despite leaving messages and sending emails. Abysmal service at an outrageous price.

Charming and Cozy! Charming small hotel with an excellent restaurant, lounge, outdoor seating and location adjacent to the Hudson Valley and the Berkshires.

We had an amazing stay at Little Cat Lodge, located right at the base of the Catamount ski slope. It’s hard to beat the combination of stunning mountain access, thoughtful amenities, and friendly service. The breakfast was fantastic and a great way to start the day before heading out hiking. The sauna, with its mountain views, was the perfect place to relax after a day on the slopes with a beer from the bar, and we loved warming up in the cozy sunroom and by the fireplace. Our room was spotless and incredibly comfortable, with great attention to detail. The king size bed was super comfortable, and everything felt thoughtfully prepared. The staff (and Mike the manager) were welcoming, helpful, and attentive without being overbearing. If you’re looking for a place that combines comfort, convenience, and a connection to nature, Little Cat Lodge is a fantastic choice. We’ll definitely be back!
