Where do we start? Great setting. Friendly, smiley and chatty staff. Indoor and outdoor eating facilities. Unique dining pods outdoors and each one designed differently to the other. Rooms spacious. Secluded and sheltered grounds.

Firstly the good points of this stay / visit. This is a very nice setting and would be even better is the spring or summer with decent weather when you could sit outside and even use pub which was not open at this time of the year ! Our booking was made by friends who had to cancel their stay due to illness so it was not our choice but that is not a problem. On check in for our two night stay we asked if the room had a bath as my wife like a bath especially after a long walk which we had done earlier in the day. We were told there was a room available with a bath as the hotel was not full but we would need to pay an EXTRA £25 per night which we though was excessive especially as we were staying for two nights. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the food and drinks were very good and tasty and the service could not be faulted. We especially liked the cheese board which we shared and thought was very good value and turned out to be a good choice for flavour and quantity. Breakfast on the first morning was good, well served and my full english was both hot and was served ready plated. So we move onto the second night and morning. As we had eaten here on the first night and the menu had not changed even the specials, so we chose to take dinner elsewhere. However as we had so enjoyed the cheese board on the previous night we thought it would be good on our to return to the hotel to partake of it again. We said we just wanted to order the cheese boaard and were directed to a small table directly adjacent to the bar even though other tables were vacant in the main body of the restaurant. After some delay the cheeseboard was served and was again as previous evening. I decided to take a glass of port to go with my cheese and my wife just wanted coffee. The young guy behind the bar poured my port and as it was the bottom of the bottle could not be bothered to open another bottle but emptied the dregs into my glass and said he would only charge for the one shot instead of the normal double. However on signing for the check I had in fact been charged for the dregs ! My wife had asked for hot milk with her coffee and we saw it was prepared from the machine but deposited on the bar and several waiters kept walking past so in the end my wife got up and fetched it herself. The service supplied by the bar staff and waitress was to say the least very indifferent and dismissive . I got the distinct impression we were treated badly as we had chosen to eat at another establishment and not here ! Breakfast the following morning was served upstairs in the upper part of the pub. This was a self service with a good full selection of items. However it was only just luke warm and the plates were stone cold as there was no plate warmer in site. We were told as was clearly visible that a "bulb" was broken and not working in the unit! Why was it not replaced? So much for customer service !

The most beautiful venue, with stunning food and helpful staff. The ambience is great and it has a real cosy vibe to it. The super king bed in our room was immense - felt like I’d lost the husband half way through the night :) An amazing find (thanks Tripadvisor!) and one not to be missed!

Having been to two weddings this year already the one here shone high above the other wedding venue in Somerset! The weather was kind, true that helped, but there was always a back up plan of required. The staff made the whole thing seamless. The meal and evening job roast was great. Had to dance a lot to work it off! I did stay the night, breakfast was loosely booked on time slots and although busy plenty of well prepared good to go round. Both check in and out was handled with smiles and efficiently. The only let down was no not water for a shower. And I could hear when the upstairs room used the loo. But compared to the other wedding, amazing. It would be too unkind of me to mention the other manor.

Minnie and the team at Haselbury Mill are amazing and gave my husband and myself a perfect wedding day in the stunning Tithe Barn. The grounds are amazing, the food was wonderful, the staff were fantastic. The bridal suite was gorgeous and spotlessly clean. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to get married. Thank you Haslebury Mill.
