Appartement 8 & 9- Lagun Blou Resort - Curaçao

I’ll start off by saying the owners of this resort were very nice and friendly… However, if you are looking for a comfortable relaxing stay this may not be the best place to stay. There is no central air only a unit in the bedroom that if you run too long you will be charged extra. The front door is not secure and is slotted so bugs can freely enter. Bed extremely uncomfortable. My husband and I were looking for a resort style stay for our baby moon so we left as soon as we saw the conditions of the property and took the $900 loss. There are many other resorts available on the island for the same price with great amenities so I guess it really depends on what you’re looking for.

The location and views and exterior of the property are amazing. The service was excellent as well. The main challenge is the downstairs ac is non existent which made living in the bedroom when inside the apartment mandatory. The furnishings are a bit outdated but satisfactory. Kitchen well supplied but a bit old. Only other comment is that the light bulbs are all under powered. Should be updated with LED’s of appropriate brightness. It is easy to pick apart a place so overall I lived my stay. Just a little update and maintenance would go a long way.

I really wanted to love this place but too many cons outweigh the pros. Pros,The staff are friendly and very helpful. Location is absolutely paradisiac and magical. The view from the premium apartment balcony was magical. The fact that the property was steps from Playa Lugun was amazing and their private access to clear waters and wonderful snorkeling was incredible. The bed was comfortable. Cons, the apartment (#19) is very OUTDATED, along with the furniture, where there were visible stains on the couch that I was deterred from sitting on them and unable to enjoy the living room, plus there’s NO A/C and it gets extremely hot (only upstairs in the bedroom and if you go over 15 kw / day you’ll be charged ). The bath mats had stains on them. The upstairs sliding door grates and is hard to open. The fan in the living room was extremely dirty and dusty, but when I asked for it to be cleaned it was instantly cleaned, along with the very smelly bathroom upstairs, (they immediately put chemicals in the toilets and sinks to remove the smell). The kitchen is old and I felt I had to wash anything before I used it. If you’re looking for a great location with magical views and won’t be spending much time in your room, this is the place. But if you’re looking to relax in a clean apartment without worrying about using too much electricity and A/C and with ocean views, there are other options at a better rate.

STUNNING. We stayed here for five days and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere of the resort is extremely relaxing with lush greenery, 2 pools and amazing views of the ocean. There was an awesome platform that we jumped off of to snorkel near the coral. Walking distance to playa lagun, 10-20 minute drive to other stunning beaches (grote knipe was our favorite and only 10 mins away). The 2 bath-1 bed apartments were a little outdated, as there was no AC on the bottom floor, but we didn’t stay in the apartment much so it didn’t matter. The bedroom had air condition that was sufficient enough. The only con to note: throwing toilet paper into garbage can instead of toilet. But, understandable. There is also a loving black cat that they rescued who roams the resort freely. Everyone is welcoming- especially Manu at the reception desk! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
