The facility and setting are gorgeous. The River House was beautiful, spacious and overall well equipped. The grounds were well groomed and the wild life entertaining. Unfortunately, there were some fundamental communication and lack of amenity issues that blunted our enthusiasm for the resort. Before arrival, we called to confirm if the River House had a washer & dryer. The operator told us she did not know. No offer to find out or call us back. We ultimately found a You Tube video from a person who recently stayed in the River House who showed all the amenities, including the washer/dryer. Upon arrival, we were also informed that the River House had spotty internet. My wife had a 7 am meeting and was told she should go to the main Lodge, despite booking a reportedly full service River House. Without internet, we were unable to watch any TV. Wednesday afternoon, we specifically asked to see Holly and reported the lack of Internet. The next day (and the last day of our stay),a new Starlink was finally installed. The last night, we were able to watch TV. We also noted that on-line, each bedroom had individual TVs. In reality, each room had remnants of hook ups. This was not a deal breaker, but was misrepresented in the on line description and would have been inconvenient if we had any TV service. More website inaccuracies led to confusion regarding what services and amenities were available at the resort. A few days before arrival, we contacted the front desk a second time to inquire about fishing. We were informed the lodge “does not have fishing.” A list of guides was e-mailed, but when called, the guides were reluctant to book a tour because of the poor fishing. Ironically we visited a local bakery the day after our arrival. A kind local fisherman overheard us asking the baker if he fished. The fisherman recommended we fish along the banks of the Rogue River near the lodge. He directed us to the Gold Beach Sporting Goods store, where the owner helped us rent a pole, procure lures, and obtain a license. Amazingly, this self motivated approach yielded 2 big salmon! Upon arrival, there was no written information regarding what amenities were available on site. We asked about the Spa and were told it was closed because “the person quit the day before.” We noticed people going into a building near our house. We inquired about it, learning it was the sauna. We needed to ask to learn how to schedule time in the sauna, again learning it was first come, first serve. At no time were any services suggested, offered or recommended. Dinner entrees were texted to only one of our party who was out fishing, and unable to communicate with the others. A little more effort could have communicated the entire menu (not just entrees) to everyone, since all our names were on the reservation. Additionally, more food options would be greatly appreciated. There are limited options for fine dining at Gold Beach. The resort has the opportunity to shine rather t
