The room is as good as ever. It must be a good, trustworthy and recommended old five-star hotel. I am also very satisfied with the room. I went for breakfast at 9.30. Bao Lei personally led the meal pick-up. Chef Li and Supervisor Hou Xinghua introduced the dishes. I was very satisfied.

The hotel's location is fantastic, being in close proximity to popular tourist attractions such as Russian Street and Zhongshan Square, and easily accessible via public transport, including the metro. It comes highly recommended for travelers seeking a comfortable place to return to after a full day of exploring the city. I didn't have the opportunity to explore the other amenities the hotel offers, if any (to be honest, I didn’t check), as my schedule was packed. However, the breakfast was quite good.

Short but sweet visit trip to Dalian. Hotel is very well located, price is low for standard of hotel but clearly a little older. Would stay again. Breakfast was OK.

This is an honest review that is not meant to dissuade anyone but to offer a thorough unbiased review. My opinion of New World before my stay was that it was a 5 star hotel, it certainly wasn't horrible, but after my stay and comparing to other Dalian hotels in its league that I've stayed in, think it doesn't fit the bill for a 5 star hotel. I can't complain about the service, Check in was swift and we got a free room upgrade and spa coupons, but the hotel room carpet was stained, there was dust in some places and the furniture and room amenities are aging, slightly dated and need to be improved (I didn't feel the need to zoom in on those issues so the pictures wont reflect this) . I loved that there were lovely art pieces throughtout the hotel and the fitness centre was top notch especially the heated pool. The breakfast buffet had fewer options than expected for a hotel of that standard but it was honestly delicious and satisfactory, they had both Chinese and Western dishes, fruit and cereal. The waitresses from Guo restaurant had the best service they went out of their way to make our dinner pleasant. The most disconcerting issue I had with New World was that the room deposit refund took longer than I've ever experienced, I found it highly unusual and somewhat disappointing because I've stayed in a lot of 5 star hotels and usually the refund is instant but they told us it would take up to 3 days. Maybe this is standard practice for them but it made no sense to me and I've never had to wait that long. In any case surely it doesn't take 3 days to check a room!

This is an excellent aparthotel, matching the Western standards of 5* accommodation. Location: connected to Galleria Mall, near the Dancing Fountain Square, and within walking distance to Oriental Venice. Amenities: all that travelers might need is available in the room (toiletries, ironing board, coffee maker, microwave, and utensils), as well as big bathroom (with both shower and bathtub). Cleanliness and customer service: excellent service, clean common areas and rooms, several elevators, and an overall pleasant environment with great views.
