The recent review by John and Jenny Taylor sums up perfectly how we experienced the Langstone Cliff Hotel. My wife was celebrating a 'landmark birthday' & the reception staff arranged exactly how I ordered, a suprise room welcome of champagne, flowers and local chocolates. The staff were brilliant and despite being extremely busy were only too keen to help with a smile and is a tribute to them, their training and the longevity of the hotel. We had an upgraded room with a beautiful sea view. The hotel does have an indoor swimming pool, an excellent snooker and darts room and a table tennis room. You can relax in a wide range of comfortable seats and sofas and be waited on too. The food was excellent and I personally was looked after in the dining room because of my health issues which made our stay more enjoyable. We will return as soon as possible. Lovely hotel with excellent staff. Comfortable big lounges and verandah overlooking the gardens and sea. Food was excellent with good choices on the menu it was difficult to choose as everything was so good. Gluten free options available. We stayed in ground floor room with balcony overlooking the grounds. Friendly helpful staff in all areas of the hotel

We booked as a quick few days away. The view from hotel overlooking the sea was beautiful. They have a covered terrace where you can sit eating a snack lunch or just having a quiet drink. I am in a wheelchair and was able to get round the whole hotel. Every room was tastefully decorated with lots of comfy seats and sofas. We watched the England football game surrounded by families and children and they accept dogs, so it felt like a home. There is a great choice of menu every meal and on several occasions we asked for some slight alteration to the meal, like no walnuts, no bacon bits and they obliged with no hesitation. All staff were warm and welcoming and we felt like we were friends not paying guests. We actually wish we had booked for longer, but I got sunburnt on first day on the beach which is a ten minute walk from the hotel, it's a gentle slope then a flat walk to beach. Oh yes I forgot to mention the indoor is wonderful a great temperature and easy steps for me to leave wheelchair and get into the pool which was warm, perfect. We met with some family for a coffee and light lunch. The coffee was fine, and the toasted sandwich was as expected. Service was quick and polite, despite them being busy. Would come back,and my partner and I are considering booking a room in the coming year.

Not the best place for those with food allergies. Boxing day receptionist made a big deal about my enquiry about one ingredient and a very public announcement. When I got to the Christmas day buffet there were lovely items such as potato salad, coleslaw.mayo and several puddings which I had not been given info on. I didn't want to be shown up again following her "why have you come for lunch then" comment. Would have educated her on the law but had been invited by friends. A couple of days before I had FB messenger to find out how easy it was to ask on the day- no reply. The food I did have was delightful- wonder what the rest was like. Cold meat and salad is reception proof. Lucky it wasn't my booking

A wonderful few days spent at our favourite hotel in the build up to Christmas, our second stay in four months. Completely lived up to all our expectations, with fabulous food, caring and attentive staff, it really is like visiting family. The festive decorations are glorious, both inside and out. Can't wait to book again for a Spring break.

During our second visit, we enjoyed a wonderful meal at this beautiful hotel. The staff was efficient and attentive. Our only complaint was the price of over £28 for a beer and two small wines. While this will not deter us from returning, we will be cautious regarding our drink choices.

Just got back from a 4 night holiday at the Langstone Cliff Hotel and it was perfect in every way. We were on an organised coach trip and we were given an extremely comfortable room for our stay, which looked newly refurbished. We had a wonderful view of the grounds, swimming pool & sea. The Langstone staff are exceptional especially in the dining room. They were always busy but so helpful & cheerful.

The weather looked warm and dry so we booked an overnight stay in an upstairs Seaview room near the lift. The room was cosy and warm with a proper radiator. Also had aircon if needed. The bathroom looked new..ample grabrails which is unusual in most hotels. Plenty of space for bathroom acutriments on a large shelf. Nice shower and a heated towel rail. However the bed was too hard for me but probably not for others. The location is fantastic. Walk one way to Dawlish Warren either over the railway bridge or further along under a tunnel. Choice of pasty shops there too. Walk the other way along the sea front to Dawlish which could be too far for some. There's a bus outside the hotel too. Plenty of seating outside and inside. We had a meal at the bar which wasn't too bad. However the veg in the curry was too overcooked and the other meal wasn't very hot. The breakfast had a good choice. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again. It's lovely to be right by the sea. Also all the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.

We ran a dance break for 50 people on the first week of December 2024. The feedback from all the guests was 100% positive with everybody very impressed with the staff, food, decorations and overall service. An extremely friendly reception which set a good tone. The rooms were clean, well appointed and welcoming. All in all a quite lovely few days.

the bedroom was cold on arrival but found radiator valve closed so adjusted same and after a superb 5 course dinner the room was warmer,also (closed an ill fitting window),the staff were brilliant,this is a family run large hotel with a very home feeling,lovely large landscaped gardens and gated access to the beach ,fantastic.

This hotel is lovely, nor just for couples but also for families. I have never found the food anything less than fabulous and the staff are so helpful and friendly. The hotel is always clean and comfortable . The rooms include everything you could need . Both the indoor and outdoor pool (summer) are beautifully kept and the gardens lovely Just a short walk takes you to Dawlish Warren and all the family friendly entertainment. The hotel itself puts on children's activities during school holidays. And their loyalty weekends cannot be beaten

Booked for afternoon tea using a voucher we had received as a gift. After arriving earlier in the day to enjoy a walk along the coast, we were warmly welcomed at Reception and immediately shown to our table. The view across the lawns to the estuary beyond was glorious and the afternoon tea was perfect - fresh sandwiches (no crusts!), fluffy warm scones and three delicious cakes garnished with fresh strawberries. Our waiter was attentive and arranged for a takeaway box for the goodies we had leftover! Thanks for a super afternoon - we'll be back!

62 of us were at the hotel for a dancing break, and everyone had a fabulous time. We were very well looked after - from the excellent food, attentive staff, clean and well equipped rooms, and the facilities on offer. The ballroom is amazing. The location is also a plus, with lovely views and easily accessible walks to Dawlish and Dawlish Warren. We have booked again for next year.
