An English Garden

The host/owner was very nice. Let us use the private beach at their sister hotel. Stayed in Suite #2 with spouse. Suite was nice but could use some updates. Locks on sliding doors about to fall off as well as shutters on bedroom windows. Fan in bathroom and other vents needed cleaning. Breakfast was ok. Not much of a repertoire. Eggs one day, french toast the next. I was disappointed as used to exceptional breakfast when staying at a B&B. All in all we had a nice time but would try another place to stay next time.

My husband and I stayed at An English Garden Bed and Breakfast for 4 nights in mid/late October 2023. Our intention was to get some rest and relaxation with a Cape Cod vacation. We had never visited the Cape before, and wanted to explore it during the off season, to enjoy the nice autumn weather without the crowds. An English Garden Bed and Breakfast was the perfect place to accomplish those things. We stayed in Suite 2 of the Carriage House, a second-floor suite which has one bedroom, a kitchenette and 2 French doors that open to a little balcony with a great view towards the ocean. It was a comfortable and quiet place to stay, within convenient driving distance to Cape Cod attractions, restaurants, and shops. Breakfast was simple and delicious, served each morning by our hostess Courtney. Thanks, Courtney and Co., for a stellar stay at Cape Cod!

Overall we had a very pleasant stay!! The owners were amazing and the location was awesome and convenient to our travels on Cape Cod! Our accommodation’s were very comfortable! Beds were amazing!! The only reason we gave it a four is the “small amenities” were not available!! A commercial ice machine is needed! The ice machines were portable and really didn’t work while we were there.Breakfast was good, nothing really amazing! Housekeeping was just ok! Rooms were pretty clean but could be cleaner. If you wanted service you left your tag on the door! That got you clean towels but no clean drinking glasses! A minor refresh would be better. Even with our small issues we highly recommend!

Let me start by saying: 1) The stay was fine. The bathroom sink would not drain whatsoever, but no complaints other than that. 2) This is my 2nd maybe 3rd online review ever. I don’t do this often. I stayed at an English Garden bed and breakfast from August 25th - 27th to celebrate a friend’s wedding. On the morning of the 27th I got a call from a family member informing me that my father suffered a stroke. I raced out of there and straight to the hospital where I spent the next week. On September 2nd I was unpacking my bags and realized my checkbook was nowhere to be found. I called the front desk, and they told me they hadn’t seen it but took down my number in case it came up. I got a call 5 minutes later saying they had it. They had it for SIX days without thinking to notify me!? They told me they would mail it on September 5th since that weekend was Labor Day. On the 6th I called and spoke to the front desk ‘manager’ who had no idea what I was talking about but said she would look in to it and get back to me. Fast forward to September 11th, still haven’t heard anything. I call again and request to speak to the owner, which they would not allow me to do (even though the owners contact information is framed on a desk the moment you walk in?). On the 12th I get a call from the owner Calvin, and I explain my situation. He proceeds to tell me that it was thrown in a sensitive items drawer and essentially forgotten about, and that he would mail it back to me today. SIXTEEN days later! Still hasn’t been mailed, was never notified they had it, and he never once apologized about the situation. In the meantime, I’ve had to open a new checking account, debit card, checkbook, transfer all my automatic payments, the whole nine yards. Yes, it is my fault for leaving the checkbook, I fully recognize that. That doesn’t absolve them of their responsibility to notify the customer (who paid almost $1,000 to stay there for the weekend) that they left behind a sensitive item. On top of that, to hold on to it for OVER 2 weeks when it was supposedly “mailed” out 10 days ago. Absolutely atrocious customer service, take your business elsewhere for that price tag.

We had a wonderful , enjoyable experience at the English Garden BnB on Cape Cod. As advertised, our suite was comfortable, larger than a room stay and great for couples. Breakfast every morning was delightful with a daily change in the menu from French toast one morning to eggs with meats and toast and fruit the next. Of course there was always juice and coffee also. It was a great way to start the day. Finally, a day at the beach was literally a 2 minute walk from our suite. You could not ask for a more relaxing vacation stay. We shall definitely return.

Happy to have found this gem on the Cape. We had four wonderful days in room 111 which was perfect. Great views. Fabulous breakfast. Terrific staff. Thanks to all for a very comfortable and fun stay!

Stayed in suite 2 (upper level) with my family (kids 3 and 5). Lovely spot. Clean and cozy, with everything we needed. Breakfast was tasty and staff were kind. We ate at Clancy’s one night (very good food) and went to Mayflower beach the next day and had a simple dinner in the kitchenette here after. Great shower, clean bath for the kids, and good breakfast in the morning. Would recommend this spot for sure!

Awful. View of broken toilet on another balcony, broken outdoor shower, dirty. Absentee owners/manager. Awful breakfast and surcharge of $50 for early arrival that never happened. Overall, one of the most awful places I’ve stayed in. Find somewhere else.

Check-in is very easy; they leave the key with your name and room number in a basket just inside front door. Room was as described and easy to find. However, key didn't work so we had to find a housekeeper to open door. Key never worked so we just left door unlocked. Not a problem. The Inn was very nice throughout without being "cute-sy." King bed was very comfortable, bathroom had been refurbished with large terrific shower. Lots of windows providing good light and decent views. Excellent breakfast was served daily in pretty room. Coffee, tea, juice and water were self serve and always available. Innkeeper Courtney was a delight to see every morning and always very helpful. Other guests were quite pleasant. We will gladly return to the English Garden B&B!
