Booked an afternoon tea get away for my partners birthday. We traveled one hour from Great Yarmouth to get here and wish we hadn’t. It was embarrassing. First of all we arrive and staff could see us but just ignored us. They were chatting away, so we decided to do the self check in, after 5 minutes it didn’t work so just went and spoke to them in which they said “ahh we were just talking about where you were” Sat down to a table, no “how are you” or any small conversation. Once sat down a young girl came over and started chatting to us “guessing the chefs daughter” she was pulled away but then kept coming back (very unprofessional to have your children at work and interrupt whilst serving guess?) We got asked if we wanted drinks and it we just basic filter coffee. The chef then brought our afternoon tea over and when I say disappointed I mean disappointed! It prob cost under £3 to make! Cheap cakes from Lidl, 2 cheap scones and 6 tiny finger sandwiches! No pastries or tarts or anything home made! Was terrible, when you think of afternoon teas, you think homemade, fancy right? Nothing of the sort, we left pretty much all of it, coffee was undrinkable and we were just so annoyed. I was embarrassed I took my partner! Whilst there one other table walked in got given old menus, the young girl was going up to them too, they then got “new menus” ordered and was told Pretty much they could only have sandwiches, when they ordered the chef walked out 5 mins later (no chef whites or hat any of them items, clearly just wearing home clothes “ and told them there was no tuna for one of their sandwiches as it was off! What kind of chef says that? Absolutely terrible. I’d really like to know how the place is still running to be honest! The best thing about the places was the ceiling display of lights and nail/netting map picture on the wall! Will never go back or recommend,
