Best Hotels near City-Center Brackel, Dortmund

Dear readers, as unsatisfactory guest, I would like to share my experience in this hotel. First of all, I must say that the central location of the hotel is positive. I also liked the impressive hall of red marble in the eastern style. My room on the 5th floor was pleasantly large and offered a good view of the city. Unfortunately, this is the hotel at the crossing of two main roads. This means that the traffic around the clock is very strong and especially at night when the Poser scene tries her PS-stark cars, I was always wake up at night. Also the equipment is simple and has come into the years. The garden fell to me immediately when hearing, because the holder was defect and it was no longer fitted. The very bright room was also a big problem because I could hear any noise from the neighbouring rooms. The breakfast was a great disappointment, as low-quality goods were used, the cheapest available on the market. All in all, this was the last time I stayed in this hotel. On the second day I went to a bakery in the morning. Unfortunately, I can't make a recommendation for this hotel and advise potential guests to look after a better option. We stayed 2 nights as part of a package to see Borussia Dortmund play. The hotel is well outside the city centre however it is conveniently located across the road from a light railway station that had a regular service to the city centre, taking approximately 15 minutes. Staff where friendly and helpful at check in and helped us to move room when we were booked into a double instead of a twin room. Unfortunately the air conditioning problem mentioned in a previous review still persists and we got hot air when we put it on, no matter setting we used. We reverted to the old fashioned method of cooling the room and opened the window. Unfortunately the breakfast in the hotel was very poor, no cereal suitable for children or bread for tasting. Although staff were generally helpful and friendly with such a poor breakfast offering we wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

I arrived a week before my reservation and asked for a change in reception. But on the booking website they indicated that in the hotel they could, If HAVE WANT, make a refund to me. I commented on it with the hotel being at the same reception, I cancelled and booked a new room, but they did not make any refund or discount, the young woman who attended me lacked empathy and sympathy. I paid what it was booking directly at reception, more expensive than on the web, and I will not return to this hotel nor recommend it to my friends and colleagues. The room was very comfortable and was very comfortable.

It’s really a shame… this hotel is mostly totally fine, and I love that it was so convenient to the train station. But the beds are AWFUL. I mean *bad*. It’s like sleeping on top of a table… so hard, I’d wake up with numb fingers, hands, and feet. The pillows filled with crumbly material deflate immediately as well, making it just impossible to get a good night of sleep. It’s a shame, really!

This hotel charged me 600 euro a night. There must have been something on in Dortmund for anyone to pay this as it’s more like a backpackers than a hotel. I arrived at 11pm. My stay was prepaid in full by my corporate travel agent. They said they had no rooms and that I would have to wait and they would take me to another property somewhere in the city. I was very upset and refused to move and finally they “found” a room. At this point it was almost midnight. I asked could I order a beer to take to my room. The answer was no but I could go to another hotel nearby where there was a bar. 600 euros a night. I then got to my room which was fine and clean if basic. There were only European sockets. I have sleep apnea and need a cpap device and an adapter for a Uk plug. Every Marriot I have ever been to has the universal plugs (at least one or two in each room). This place has none. Just basic German sockets. I called down and said do you have an adapter I will even buy one of you sell them. I will even pay for someone to go and get one. I was told, no we don’t and we don’t have a conceirge or anyone like that and we won’t help. Even if it means you die. True Marriot hospitality. So I guess anyone without their own adapter is out of luck at this “hotel”. I then tried the internet. Out of luck there too, internet shows up but doesn’t connect or work. I called the front desk. It just rings out. Over and over. No one answers or bothers. This is the single worst experience I have ever had at a hotel at the price point or at any Marriot worldwide, and I have stayed in many of them over many years. This place should lose its accreditation and the management ought to be replaced. Do not stay here unless you get a room for 50 euro a night, maybe 75, which is all it’s worth it’s basically a nice backpackers just off a freeway. If Marriot sees this can someone please contact me as this hotel caused me health issues and was a disgrace to your brand.

Big praise!!! Very pleasant atmosphere. Thank you for the great service. From check-in to housekeeping, everything was of the highest standard. We would love to come back. Recommendable: the delicious and extremely plentiful breakfast.

This was a great little hotel in the centre of Dortmund. Convenient, clean, quiet, and most importantly, with a great cafe. The cafe opened early (6:30 Monday - Saturday, I think 8 on Sundays), which was very convenient for that first tea/coffee of the day. They did a good range of drinks, cakes, sandwiches as well as a full continental for €10. I can highly recommend their muesli, which I believe is made in house. The staff were all very accommodating and spoke good English.

Acora is quite big hotel some 10 minutes walk from Rathaus station. The location is on a busy street ( ask for a garden view if you want a rest ). We were accommodated on a highest floor (5th) which is likely additionally built and strangely it has staircase inside the room which are extremely narrow. Fairly the room was spacious and the hotel staff were polite. Some parts of the room looked worn out. My personal opinion is that it is not worth the money. Some very high rates considering what it is offered. Maybe Bochum doesn’t have enough hotel facilities so they skyrocket the accommodation prices. For me the rate of 130 Euro ( without breakfast) per night for a couple and a 10 year old kid is insanely high for this level of service. Would never come back.

Nice new hotel. Staff (and the dog) was great. Heating in the new building seems to be a problem. Breakfast was great, room also.

Sehr auf jugendliche Zielgruppe ausgerichtet. Stylish. Gute, zentrale Lage in der Nähe des Hauptbahnhofs. Kleine Zimmer, winziges Badezimmer, Sehr einfach eingerichtet, kein Schrank, kein Room Safe, kein Kühlschrank. Leider Probleme mit der Instandhaltung. So war da ein schlechter Geruch aus dem Ausguss der Duschkabine. Die Beleuchtung am Bett hatte einen Wackelkontakt. Kein eigenes Fitness Center, man kann das kleine Fitness Center des benachbarten Residence Inn mitbenutzen. Frühstücksbüffet ok. Insgesamt kein komfortables Hotel. Dafür aber preiswert.
