After an overnight stay I noticed some damaged in my car, left at the parking lot of the Hotel, that I immediately reported at the reception and asked to please confirm if the damaged was in fact done during my stay. My car was parked directly in front of 2 security cameras. The estimate cost for the repair is a few times the value that I paid for my stay and therefore I cannot neglect it. The parking lot was very full on that day and there was little space between the cars, which makes this type of damage very likely. Given that I could not get a fast answer from the Hotel, I decided to participate the damage also to the Police at Besançon. The treatment I got from the Police was definitely more helpful and kind than the one I got from the hotel management, although I was in fact a client of the hotel. There was not even a statement from the hotel expressing that they were sorry about the damage and they would do their best to help clarifying the issue. My recommendation to the clients of the hotel that travel by car, and that do care about keeping their cars in a good condition – it is not necessarily always the case – is to take photos at the moment they park their cars, such that it will be easier to trace an incident in case some damage is found. I ask the manager to please, before using again some soft and void words about this case, answer my emails in a straight way, regarding a sincere commitment from the hotel on helping clarifying this issue.
