Hotels Near Plaža Neptun in Dubrovnik

Travelled to Lapad Bay in October as a solo traveller. This hotel is safe, friendly, comfortable and in a great location. It’s 2 minutes from the bus to the old town, and same to the beautiful beach and promenade walk. There are ritzier, more modern hotels, but if you’re exploring the area, this one is in a great place to base yourself. If you want a big pool to sit around all day, it’s probably not for you. There is a lovely pool and terrace, but it’s not a massive pool to do laps in with lots of sunbeds. (That’s not a criticism.) The only extra thing I would have liked is having a fridge in the room. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

The hotel is not in the old city but the location is very good. There is a bus station right outside the door and many buses go to the old city. One-day tickets can also be exchanged at this bus station, and there is no need to go to the pile gate to exchange them. The hotel room is large, new and clean, and the service staff is very friendly. It was my traveling companion's birthday, and the hotel sent a card and birthday cake, which was very thoughtful. You can book a day trip to Mostar without any fees. The hotel was reasonably priced and exceeded expectations. There is also a large supermarket nearby where you can buy water and other daily necessities. Not far from the bus station and pier. The price of the hotel restaurant is reasonable, and there is a set meal for 8.50 euros at noon on weekdays, which is very cost-effective. Overall very recommendable.

Room is big and clean. Breakfast is available at 15 Euros for a very decent spread. You can buy the Dubrovnik Pass from Hotel Porto just next door. Bus stop is almost right outside the hotel where you can get the bus pass and there are several buses going straight into Pile Old Town. Will definitely recommend!

As many of the other reviews state this hotel is not in the old city - it is a 20min walk (about 2km) down to the old city, which in the heat of the midday sun can be an issue for some, particularly if you are trekking uphill back to the hotel. The best alternative option is to catch the #4 bus from the Pile Gate and then get off on the 4th stop which is 100m away from the hotel (4min bus ride). There are not a large number of reasonable restaurants close by and the on-premises Bosnian restaurant (Taj Mahal) cannot be booked to the room. It is a mid-range hotel built in the 1970s, so it does have an older feel. It is not that large, with just over 150 rooms but larger than the boutique hotels we were used to staying it on our Croatian trip. We stayed in one of their classic rooms - without any view (unless you count the adjoining building as a view). The double bed was just two single beds pushed together, which meant disappearing down the crevice in-between regularly during the night. I'd suggest booking a superior room, which are larger, more modern, in the newer wing of the hotel and include a bathtub. The Wi-Fi was easy to access and relatively fast. The air conditioning only be turned on when the room key was inserted, which meant, dependent on the room orientation, you could come back to a warm room which might take some time to cool down. They only supplied one bottle of water for entire stay, which they could easily address. The swimming pool is fairly small, almost always in shade and can only be accessed via the lobby (doesn't have any change facilities by the pool). We arrived in the morning, well before the 2pm check-in, and whilst they stored our luggage and offered us use of the pool whilst we waited there really wasn't anywhere to get changed and take up the offer. The breakfast, included in the room tariff, was a reasonable quality with a relatively choice of options however it didn't vary at all during our five-day stay. The lobby/foyer can get congested at times when larger tour groups arrive, with all their luggage in tow. The staff were polite and endeavoured to help us where they could. Not my favourite accommodation in Croatia but serviceable for what we needed.

The hotel is located close to the road. If you drive from Zadar, you can see the sign on the roof after crossing the bridge. The parking lot is relatively spacious. It's convenient for access. The beautiful harbor of Dubrovnik can be easily seen from the balcony of the hotel.

Stayed here for a week after a cruise and have been pleasantly surprised how much we enjoyed our stay. As previous reviews have mentioned the island itself is stunning, has walks around it with paths, consequently it is a day trip destination for many including cruise ships so the island can get busy on some days, the hotel facilities are for guests only so this does not impact on getting a sunbed or drinks though (drinks are also good and readily available). The food is great, wonderful selection and some of the best desserts we've had a a hotel. We took advantage of the one included meal at the A La carte restaurant which had a lovely ambience and excellent food. All the staff are friendly and the Tui reps very visible, helpful and also organise activities daily such as yoga, accompanied walks, quizzes etc. Our room was comfortable and the housekeeping spot on replenishing water daily and there is a kettle in the room for hot drinks. This hotel is not suitable for people with mobility issues due to the amount of steps and it was a daily exertion to get back to the accommodation but as we seemed to eat and eat we needed the exercise. Seating at the bar could do with improvement as had plastic chairs laid out in rows not conducive to a relaxing drink watching the live entertainment. The outdoor seating at the other bar could be doubled, still a lovely place to have an evening drink provided the weather is fine. The weather during our stay has been hot enough to sunbathe and only had 2 had days of rain, the day we arrived and the day we left, this did then have a very negative first and last impression as the boat transfers were horrendous, just wished we'd be put on the ferry back as it was so choppy I honestly thought we may capsize, and feared for our safety, other people were vomiting or feeling seasick the usual 35 minute crossing took over an hour and something Tui I need to take more seriously and not use the smaller boat if the weather is poor but use the ferry. All in all had a lovely relaxing stay and would definitely recommend.

Wonderful service and accommodation for American Xpress members, upgrade upon arrival, credit for the stay and access to the lounge, we’d definitely return to this hotel … wonderful friendly services by all staff, we received excellent services by towels beach staff, car parking support team, spa staff to room service and all front desk team were super friendly and supporting … incredible welcome warm welcome for AMX members, restaurants onsite too were superb … and the “tea time” in the lounge was just wonderful … including the staff ….again we’d return in a heart beat to this wonderful hidden gem of Croatia! Room was super clean, wonderful effort in making us feel welcomed and special …Highly recommending this hotel …

Hotel as an excellent hotel, beautifully designed room with sea view, restaurant very very bad, waiter (Dujo) we saw his name on his shirt, not professional, poor service, breakfast as if you are in a much worse hotel, basic things are missing, not to mention everything for the rest, we ordered scrambled eggs, my wife was sick to her stomach the whole day after that breakfast, later we went after breakfast to the pool to have a drink, the waiter was not there, we went to the reception to ask if there was anyone to serve us, the answer was no, he will come in a few minutes, we waited for him for 10 minutes, we don't know where the staff is, the lunch prices are as if you are in Dubai, we came in 2 days for dinner, we had nothing to choose from the small selection of food, we took pasta and fish, the pasta was not tasty, it was not cooked well, it was hard and the fish is not fresh at all, the waiter didn't even bother to give a discount on a bar or a drink I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE, YOU WILL BE VERY DISSATISFIED!!

This was our first visit to this resort. The grounds are quite pretty and the lobby is modern and open. It’s in a nice location with access to restaurants and a rocky beach within walking distance. Check in was a breeze and the front desk agent, Marko was very friendly. Petra from the concierge desk was also fantastic. Our room was nice and we enjoyed a lovely view. The bed linens were comfortable and I appreciated the modern amenities. The air conditioning was not the best and only went down to 19 degrees Celsius - at least this was the temperature it would set to… I think unfortunately it didn’t get down nearly that low, possibly because of the hot summer weather. So the room was warm when trying to sleep. The grounds are nice and the included breakfast was top notch. Very large selection of different foods and the rice pudding was fantastic. The pool was a bit disappointing. Like the pictures suggest, having rows of lounge chairs (one in front of another) takes away from a relaxing feeling, as well as the amount of children playing with their floaties, tossing the balls around and screaming around also didn’t feel very relaxing.
