Stayed here few times, so welcoming & cosy upon arrival, with xmas decor & fire lit. Place was buzzing as its New Years Day! All staff are a credit to this hotel, plenty on duty and all super friendly. No queue at reception & room ready an hr before checkin. The Carvery was delicious, although the so called stuffing, was just bread crumbs. So lovely to see that the end of food service, the staff get to plate up some carvery, for there lunch. Well deserved, giving up there special to wait on us lot and fairplay to Carrickdale, looking after there staff. Rooms where grand, big king Koil mattress spot on. Breakfast nice, again plenty of staff at hand. I had a walk rd the secret garden, helped with the cure. Beautiful wee spot.. Thankyou to all Team

Windowless room but otherwise nice
Room was smart, but didn’t have any windows aside from a small very high velux.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen this before in a hotel room, felt very claustrophobic. Room seemed to really fluctuate in temperature as the aircon kicked in and out. I’d say it was quite pricey for a windowless room. I’m surprised no other reviews seem to mention it.
Quite a strange setup having to cross the road from the main hotel to get to the room but no big deal.
Staff were otherwise very nice and the food was good. But won’t go back just for fear of getting another windowless room.

We had our staff Christmas party here on the 7th Dec we also had a local Awards night in Oct to say that the carrickdale staff know how to pull off a function is an understatement. There was 550 at the awards and they serviced and fed all like a military operation with hot food and a smile and even better at the Xmas nigh, the staff here are incredibly well trained hard working Excellent food excellent events management teams a very special nod to Michelle the event manager on the Xmas night. Well done Carrickdale best hotel service I have seen in a very long time

Hotel was fine reception staff could really do with a little cheer no hello welcome just yes , I want to check in and just to u want to pay with cash r card and have u stayed here before, gave me registration form and left door key and room number never mentioned breakfast r where it was We dined in restaurant Sunday night and service was not what would expect from 4 * Very limited and overpriced food and it was very average would expect a lot better . Pool was freezing. Bring ur own pillows as they were terrible and road noise was awful Look for a room at rear of hotel as traffic noise started shortly after 4am ( of course not fault of hotel) When I asked at reception about going see the Christmas light show in carlingford was told that’s about 20 mins away and no more even though it’s advertised on website about it . Breakfast staff were very unfriendly we were left standing at door for ages even though two female staff were stand chat in dining room Lovely reception area and really well decorated for Christmas but staff far from friendly

We recently stayed at the Carrickdale for our third December in a row. Yet again we could not fault our stay. We feel that at the Carrickdale the service from staff is second to none and we are always made feel so welcomed and well looked after. We first stayed in the Carrickdale in Dec 2022, got married there in Dec 2023 and have just returned from another unforgettable stay. This time around, we had the pleasure of availing of the Serenity Spa facilities and enjoying a delicious meal in the Bar. We would like to give a special mention to Rachel who was our wedding coordinator and we got to meet again when checking into the hotel. Rachel always goes above and beyond to make you feel so appreciated as a customer of the hotel, thank you! There aren’t many hotels in Ireland where you see that, year after year they have the same staff members and this goes to show that the Carrickdale is truly a lovely environment to be in.
