The rooms for the price of 300€ are absolutely insufficient (small and shabby) plus the management is pretty unfriendly and arrogant. Maybe like for 150€/night would be ok but the hotel definitely isn’t worth the price they charge. Definitely cannot recommend this place!

we are stayinf in a former casle that has been renovated and is a 5 stars hotel now. the hotel is in the middle of the pedestrian area of Durnstein and is overlooking the Danube river. the atmosphere is very unique, the staff is excellent, professional and assisting with any question or recommendation, especially Anita from the fron desk. the rooms are equiped with free drinks and free snacks, the furnitures are antique, the halls are luxurious and remind the time s of counts and dukes. there is a warm swimming pool and sauna.

Unter den Betten und den Zimmerecken läuft der 'Lurch', die Kästen innen sind ebenfalls staubig. Das wunderbare Frühstücksbuffet ist verschwunden, es wird nur mehr serviert, die Portionen sind recht düftig. Das Personal kommt kaum mit den Bestellungen hinterher. Dass generell in Hotellerie und Gastronomie gespart wird, wissen wir. Ein Haus dieser Kategorie sollte davon aber unberührt bleiben. Persönlich durch den Oberkellner zugesagter Tisch ist abends bereits belegt, der Inhaber des Hotels meint lakonisch, dass grundsätzlich keine bestimmten Tische vergeben werden. Sehr eigen, denn entweder weiß der Oberkellner nicht Bescheid oder der Inhaber flüchtet sich in Schutzbehauptungen. Schade um diesen zauberhaften Ort, den wir viele Jahre hindurch zu unseren Favourites gezählt haben. Das Haus erfüllt aus unserer Sicht bei Weitem nicht mehr die Relais&Chateaux - Kriterien.

We stayed two nights. Our room was a bit weird as there was a small area downstairs with a bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Thankfully the AC worked well as it was quite hot when we were there. The bed was comfortable. Some of the staff were friendly and some were just okay. I can confirm what we read in many other reviews that breakfast was just okay. The service was not great and the offerings were average at best. On the good - the hotel is in a great location and we had very nice views of the river. All in all our stay was just okay. It is definitely not a five star hotel.

Beautiful property in an amazing location. The service was outstanding. We dined at the property three times in 48 hours. The food was delicious and again, the service was excellent. We will return and recommend to friends.

Gorgeous property and fantastic service by staff hotel, and special shout out to Isabel, who went out of her way to assist. Unfortunately the restaurant's service was lacking. Would definitely return!

We had a lovely room with a fantastic view over the Danube. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had a great dinner and delicious breakfast on the terrace. We enjoyed the swimming pool, and the short distance to the sights in Dürnstein-
